Hey Mark. Happy Boxing Day. Great job on Little-By-Little. 👍👍 I'm looking forward to seeing more work on The Porkchop Express 🚛. ❤❤❤. Keep up the Super-awesome work and see you in 2025!
I worked at a paint and body shop right out of high school with an actual paint booth, and I still cut and buffed every vehicle. I think you did a great job on your paint, and as far as ever knew in my time at the body shop cut and buff was just part of having a quality finished product
It all depends on how good the painter is... A really good painter can lay material down like glass. Cutting and buffing is primarily a way to fix mistakes. Anyone can spray paint, but there aren't a lot of people that paint correctly... Before Mark started spraying material, I made a couple suggestions that would have all but eliminated all of the orange peel, thus eliminating the need to sand and buff the entire truck, but they weren't followed. But in his defense, at the time, everyone and their brother was posting suggestions so I can see where it probably got a little overwhelming.
The channel that keeps giving and giving. Hat's of to you again Mark for the work with the paint, and all the love from me to all the other channelmembers who are watching! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
wellll, i'm sure he's making a few dollars between youtube and patreon ... he must've made some to justify that big shop and to buy all these projects. so idk if "giving" is the proper description, but he's definitely very hard working and dedicated and consistent
That opening shot reminded me for a moment of the early days. LBL parked in front of your garage covered in snow, you bundled up and trudging out into the cold for the days project. You've come a long way and so has LBL. Thanks for bringing us with you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I know your a bit of a perfectionist, and that's justified, but really look a the reflection in the door on how deep you can see into your shop. Pretty sure i can see into the future with that reflection. GREAT JOB SIR!!!
About a couple weeks ago I pulled into the parking lot of where I work and I saw this semi truck with the snowman style paint/wrap job on the trailer. The truck was just a regular conventional with a sleeper on but seeing the snowman trailer in the parking lot was something else. Pretty cool to see that on my way into work that morning
As you put years into the ownership of that truck, you'll keep giving it a polish and knocking down a little texture every time. It's just material adding to the longevity of the paint job. Work on it until you're happy and then live with it. The only things you can really do is add material or remove material. If you're done adding material, you've got all the time in the world to remove whatever bothers you. Keep rolling, get it back on the road, and put one in the done column. You can always revisit.
I miss the days of hood ornaments. From Pontiac chiefs to Hayes bears and Mack bulldogs. Back in a time where you could tell what was coming at you without reading any words
You have some most generous followers. The artwork Bert/Transam and the neon sign are beautiful. The drawing the young man did is very special as well. Wish I had the talent some of your viewers have is amazing.
Hey Mark. Great work on Little-by-little. 👍 Can't wait to see more videos with The Big Trouble in Little China FLC.❤❤❤ Keep up the Super-awesome job and see you in the new year.
Merry Christmas Mark, great job little by little that’s what it’s all about just keep plugging away can’t wait to see the end result she’s looking fantastic 👍
Mark. As i said weeks ago, get some 3D ACA 510 compound. It will make your life so much easier. Ive used it alone with just a wool pad to take out orange peel on bad paint jobs. I would still go with the 1500/3000 wet sanding first before compounding though to get the best results. My job is detailing for used car dealers and im the one that has to fix the mess that the 'cheap' bodyshops make. I would also leave that paint longer to fully cure otherwise you can get fall back and the sanding marks you thought were gone can re-appear. When using the rotary with wool pad, you should add more tilt so your using the 1/3 outer edge of the pad to buff as thats the area that gives the most cut. . Obviously only do this on flat panels, not edges, and keep the machine moving but slow enough that the pad and compound can do their work. Holding the wool pad flat greatly reduces the cut. Dont be scared of it, that clearcoat is much harder than the single stage paints and you sort of need to show it who is boss. If you put the effort and time in, theres no reason you cant get that paint job so it looks close to 100% perfect.
This week has been awesome. Got a Christmas special from Peg and a new installment of the Little by Little on ol TwinSticks. Been a good week out on the open road. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Mark! Keep up the good work!
Mark first off love the channel and all the great work you do to save old trucks. Second that sign is awesome what a great job they did on it. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there.
It's certainly blue... I really like the color. I'm trying to be nice and keep my comments positive for a change 🙂. It's really hard for me not to point out mistakes and explain why they happened. It's just one of my character flaws. I don't do it to beat people up, I like to help people, but it doesn't always come across that way. I commend you for all of the effort you put into your projects, and for learning how to do new things.
LBL looks great Mark! Looks like the plate that you were sent seems to be the correct one for Pork Chop. Hopefully i can try to get to the Lesco show in '25 to be able to see these trucks in person!
Merry Christmas Mark. Hope you and the family had a grand day. LBL is looking great! Before you start the rebuild, now would be a great time to add an air ride seat to the passenger side. A nice treat for date night with Mrs. Twin Sticks!
Twin Sticks. I was a trucker for 45 years and l was a damn good one. There weren't no load l couldn't handle. I was a pretty good wrench man too. I could make about any repair and bring my old trucks home X the hook truck. One thing l never could do was paint. It looked like a chicken got drunk and staggered all over the truck. You do an amazing job. Hurry up on that ole truck so you can get on the "Pork Chop Express" and the "Duke". Happy New Year❤
A piece of glass with a sharp/broken edge works well for runs and sags in paint. Use a little water for lubricant and hold it flat against the panel sliding it over the run and it will only cut away the run.
Hi Mark, I am the guy that was saying your were putting too much clear on,Now i see what your doing. I get it, You my friend ,Have the persistence of a bull. And i say that in a good way, Lov the channel, That truck is going to look sweet,
That shark bite scraper is pretty cool iv always just used a razor blade. Kinda surprised your still getting that much orange peel. I wish i was closer i think we could have gotten that to lay out a lot nicer. I wonder if its not a reducer issue mabye to fast of a reducer. But a little elbow grease your get her looking right
Hay mark Cameron here from Australia love your RUclips videos been watching since you pulled little by little out of the field just watching now just noticed the outer edge around that door there are chips paint machine on the very edge that hangs out past the door
hey Mark. I wanted to share a tip for you to try. When I was taught how to buff paint, I was told to always keep the surface wet. Water spray bottle. like how you wet it down when you are wet sanding, use that same method when buffing. use that method for primary and final cut. even glaze coat/wax coat it is very effective. even when I put a basic coat of carnauba wax on my cars I always have a chaser bottle of water. it helps keep the polish wet longer. edit: sorry I should've added. primary cut with wool pad Milwaukee polisher secondary cut with medium cut foam pad Milwaukee polisher glaze or wax with a fine cut foam pad DA polisher
Another option I've seen, apply body filler over the run and as you sand down the filler so will the run, which ultimately end up with a smooth surface and not ruin the surrounding area. My $.02
Take razor blad3.. put two or 3 layers of masking tape on both ends of razor. It keep razor that thickness off paint no matter what. Run middle part over run. Scrape it down.. then run it with 1 layer of tape. Get it real close.. then block and wet sand the rest flat.. tape is safe way to keep razor blade off paint..less chance to gouge in
hey mark being a body man from way back i learned a few new things that may help with all your projects . such as polishing your old dingy stainless steel hood surround i found this trick working on old Harleys. use mothers aluminum polish and a terrycloth pad on a small orbital polisher on low speed . happy polishing /
Happy Christmas Mark to you and your family have a great new year thanks for all the episodes , been watching since day one have told alot of the truck drivers over here to watch you and remember if you got it on christmas morning santa brought it looking forward to watching all episodes in 2025 from Darron in Pembrokeshire Wales
Little by little is looking amazing brother keep up the good work and keep on trucking merry Christmas to you and your family can't wait to see it done
Mark you don't have to use the polisher with the Milwaukee rotary..the denim works but there's 3 different grits of denim. ( Fine coarse, medium.. Simply wet sand with 1000 1500 or 2000 grit on a flat surface. Which ever combination it takes the least effort to satisfy you. Then use the DA to polish it. Around 2000 rpm..If it doesn't look how you want use 3000 grit You want to go slow really slow in a criss cross ( take a 2' square section go up and down then go left to right. Wipe down. Should be polished enough .you don't need to do rotary and da...da is less risky and allows you to not burn through...watch videos of how auto detailing guys use their DA buffer...
Looks like a nice haul from the mailbox there Mark. Much like water will eventually wear away the hardest rock denim is remarkably abrasive just very very slow. I have a very shiny bare steel pocket knife. It started out as a matte black finish when I got it new back in 2008 but 16 years in the back pocket of my jeans hopping in and out of trucks as well as bouncing along the road the last remaining bits of that matte finish finally wore away from constant butt polishing.
Hey Mark. Stephan from South Africa. Love the episodes. On the hunt my favourite as we don’t get Peterbilt’s/Kenworth here. Some can overs but very few. Also Kenworth, only a few K100’s (less than 10) here. Hardly ever see them. So thank you!
Lookin good bud. Been following from day one. Inspired me to do a truck myself. Got me a freightliner fld120. Putting out my first video on it in a couple days. Doing a full resto on it.Starting with redoing the whole interior. Might help you some for when you start on the ol flc you bought. I will be tagging you in some videos for some tricks I figured out on the body work side of things that might really help you. Anyway...Great job on the trucks. Keep it up. Shout out from oklahoma

I went and visited Burt's grave both times I was in California last year. Legend. Love the artwork.
Looking back..did you ever imagine you'd have the following you have now? We absolutely love what ya do we support you down here in Texas!

Warm greetings to Mark, your family and the TS followers from Köln, Germany. Merry Christmas and a LBL NY
Awsome neon sign for on the interior backwall of one of your trucks. Would make a cool interior light 😎
Been watching since the fifth episode of LBL and it’s been a growing tradition to get on RUclips after work and grab a coors to enjoy the new episode.
That opening shot reminded me for a moment of the early days. LBL parked in front of your garage covered in snow, you bundled up and trudging out into the cold for the days project. You've come a long way and so has LBL. Thanks for bringing us with you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

cameras hide a lot... i've seen stuff IRL that i thought looked great on youtube only to be very disappointed
That sign is awesome! 😎😎😎
That ole California license plate ya got is the plate off the Porkchop Express 😉
Yeah can’t believe I didn’t know that 🤦♂️
Getting a Hayes is a good dream. I don’t think Mrs Twinsticks would appreciate it as much
Can't wait to see all the chrome installed back on the truck. Life couldn't get any better then that.
HNY Mark! A pretty amazing mail haul:)
I love mail time!

Love the color

Merry christmas your truck is gonna be a beautiful one
When I do body work, I use an old school drop light that is shielded on one side. Very useful to find the flaws of a paint job and body work.
You can break part of a paint stick and wrap some sandpaper around it instead of the big block
Hahahaha. I know what the 2FAN321 plate and I know how excited you'll be when you find out!
I wore out my grandparents VCR with that movie I watched it so many times.
Keep up the great hard work I’m loving the trucks would like a cabover pet
MERRY CHRISTMAS Mark and Mrs’s Twin Sticks.
