Granted I am old man ( just under ( 70) so I belong to the school that the NFL is damaging itself due to too many teams drafting and forcing young men into starting QB positions prematurely when they are not ready ( physically mentally developmentally ) . Rather than a lack of quality talent it is more about the Front offices/Ownership and their lack of commitment to ensuring their franchises' futures are built rather than hoping to hit on QB bingo. Sam Darnold is a great example of a talented player who was served poorly at a very young age and there likely have been many more . He is the good outcome story but there are too many others that did not really get the same opportunities and so not only did they end up losing but so did the loyal supporters of those teams. As in many aspects of life , fans share some responsibility in not being patient and being too quick to write off young QB and creating pressure on the front office to discard young QB because they do not show Saviour qualities within a very short term period.
@@boogieturner7447 It's more than luck. KOC can help him think about how and when to throw, but Sam is making those elite throws that very few QBs can.

@@ThatFranchiseGuy Many folks overlooked that Addison missed about 4 weeks of training camp after getting injured in the joint practices with the Browns, and then injuring his other ankle in week 1 vs the Giants. So he missed about 8 weeks of practice with Darnold - who was already new to the team. It seemed logical that it would take them a few weeks to build their timing and chemistry. I expect Hockenson to also emerge over the next few months as well, and Cam Akers who only re-joined the team at the trade deadline with LT Cam Robinson, even LB Jamin Davis. So the Vikes are still adding and building when many teams are experiencing attrition.

They are the unluckiest lucky team tbh, with the injury luck this year and a lot of plays are close to being completed but something doesn't go there way (i.e hopkins drop this week on a 20 yard dime)
the cardinals are super frustrating. it felt like they got to first in the division from being a scrappy team playing with little to lose, and then when they got to first place they started playing not to lose instead of playing to win, epitomized by gannon choosing to go up by 6 instead of trying to win the game against minnesota (how different does the season outlook look if they actually won that game?) but just generally it feels like they have gone way more conservative than they should. so many 3rd and longs where kyler has shown he can make some magic happen in the past but now we're just doing a screen, a checkdown, or a run every single time
45:42 Marcus, I think at this point the chiefs should just be their own category outside your number system. Having this team 4th is too high for their flaws while simultaneously too low for their track record. Last year demonstrated how the entire point of their regular season is to play as vanilla as possible, make the playoffs, and then pull everything out of their bag of tricks. Wheather that works two years in a row is yet to be determined, but I think Brett Kollmann said it best in the bootleg season preview. We dont care about the chiefs or anything they do during the regular season.
Yeah I kind of agree. Like they deserve their own unnumbered tier between the top two tier called the “one of the teams in the afc championship” tier because they will be there almost certainly
Excellent work Marcus! Don't always agree with your takes, but the work you put in is evident! You have earned my respect and I'm always excited for your content. Hope all goes well with your move!
As a Saints fan I am so mad that they continue to win. This organization is incapable of having a bad season and rebuilding, we’ve stretched this window so far.
Just a heads up, the Cardinals are effectively 3 games back of the Seahawks now because Seattle swept and his tiebreaker. They pretty much need to go 4-0 and the Seahawks need to 1-3 or 0-4.
Folks forget that the Seahawks D Line was banged up early in the season. I think 3 of their 4 D Line starters were out when they played the Lions in week 3. As a Vikes fan, I think their week 16 trip to Seattle might be the toughest game left on their schedule - tougher than the Packers at US Bank and @ Lions week 18.
Good luck with the move. I don't want to speculate the reason why, but i do know there's no place like home. I know im definitely going to miss it down here in bama when i leave for the Air Force in a few months

Unless Darnold wins a super bowl, I don't see any world in which he re-signs with the Vikes (and I say this as a diehard Vikings fan). Even if he does win a SB I still think there's a world where he doesn't re-sign. The Vikings right now have $76M in cap space next year. We are losing a backup QB (Mullens), Aaron Jones, Byron Murphy, Stephon Gilmore, Shaq Griffin, Dalton Risner, Jonathan Bullard, Johnny Mundt, Patrick Jones plus more. We have a lot of gaps to fill; the vikes need DT, 2+ CBs, 2 safeties, RB1, backup QB, and the interior OL needs upgrading. There's no conceivable way to fix all those gaps with the draft picks we have, and if you sign Darnold for $30M+ (or $40M franchise tag) there is no world where you comfortably fix all those holes. The team now is good yes because Sam is playing well, but also because of top level coaching and good talent outside of the QB position. Do you trust Darnold to carry the offense without a good O line or a top RB? Or without a defense who can keep games in check if he slows down? If you really think that KOC is the QB mastermind that he is, then you have to trust him to get the most out of JJ McCarthy and turn him into a player as-good or better than Darnold, with the added benefit of millions more of cap space to sign players.
Kyler is a good QB but to me he is clearly a tier 3 QB (using Marcus's tier system). Marcus always puts him on the border of tier 2 and tier 3. His good is what you would expect from tier 2 QB's good games, but his "not good" is definitely tier 3. The reason his floor is lower than true tier 2 QB's is height and how it limits him as a true pocket passer.
Agree 100% - elite short area quickness and Lamar/Mahomes level hand eye but the physical limitation amongst humans that are so much bigger and nearly as fast is just too much of a limitation - he's like a gadget QB - just like a gadget WR that can have a great game.
Hi , I really love the show this week but what would it take for Steelers to pass the ravens ? I understand it’s not a standings show but we do have a victory over them .
2:46 To answer your question on why the Titans are starting NPF, they tried man, they REALLY tried benching him and he was a healthy scratch at one point, but the other options were just as bad, honestly. Jaylen Duncan got the start against the Bills but suffers a hamstring injury that he hasn't recovered from. They cycled through both Leroy Watson and John Ojuku, but they weren't good. Watson especially was a turn style and could not stop getting flagged for false start as well as being currently hurt. So they have to take the best of a bad postion and start NPF because they don't have a better alternative option currently.
I don't know why the Bears didn't promote Richard Hightower to interim HC. He's the special teams coach - that's who you pick for a dead-end HC job and let the coordinators keep doing their same responsibilities.
It’s to see what the Bears have in Thomas Brown regarding leading a locker room and managing an offense. If he can do it, then we keep him as HC. If not, we’re hiring a new head coach + new staff anyways.
There's no way the Jets aren't a bottom 5 team, and the Raven are over the Steelers heading into Week 15. This feels like a tier list off of pure vibes.
Vikings fans are saying that there's no way they're keeping Darnold and it's JJ's team next year but what if Darnold leads them to a deep playoff run? i'm not so sure
Lifelong Chiefs fan here, I don't have an issue with the #4 ranking but KC should definitely be in the Super Bowl or bust tier. That's all they're playing for most years and ESPECIALLY this year. I mean we've won it the last 2 years I think that alone qualifies for a little more than "potential". Sitting at 11-2 I think we can hang with teams like Philly, Buffalo, and Detroit. Our defense is still strong and Mahomes makes every game a close one. I mean, we were one Josh Allen scramble away from beating your #2 ranked team a few weeks ago
Hello Markus. Thanks for great job. I am looking most for studs and duds. Are there still on schedule post week 13/14? Given moving and draft content. Ty from Prague.
I’m a long time Vikings fan, and just enjoying the season. Before I actually watch the video, I will say that the 4th quarter against the Falcons had me thinking Darnold may actually be good enough to take the Vikings all the way, which is an insane thing to think.
Sam is younger than Burrow and less than a year older than Herbert. Extending Sam for 2-3 years opens so many options for the Vikes, and continuing to develop Sam and JJ creates an option to trade one of them for a significant haul at some point. Note that the Lions, Packers and Seahawks have all overhauled their rosters largely based on the draft picks they got from the Stafford, Rodgers and Wilson trades. Extending Sam creates that opportunity in the Vikes future. The intriguing opportunity to extend Daniel Jones at back up money and for him to also benefit from KOC and Josh McCown could be another opportunity for Kwesi to leverage some trade value from his as well.
so chiefs are 5-1 against (currently to make the playoffs) teams, and bills are 2-2, beating only the "fraudulent" chiefs and the seahawks. When rams make it, and lions wreck the bills, they will be 2-4 against playoff teams, but yeah...that team is soooo great! And Chiefs just don't have it, even though they keep doing it with the amount of injuries they obtained.
Feel like the bills have always been like that, they beat a lot of bad teams and their one regular season chiefs win propels them. I don’t look at that roster or team and think they’re the second best team in the league.
I’m just confused on where the Steelers are in the rankings. The big knock recently is that they lost to the browns, okay but so did the ravens? Oh yeah and they beat the ravens, holding the #1 offense at the time to 16 points? I understand the Packers are playing well, but they lost. The name of the game is to have more points when the clock hits zero. Pittsburgh has won their last 2 and the last 7 of 8. The last 2 games show they can still put up points when needed, and despite elite opposing QB against Cinci the defense just finds a way.
Lol as a 9ers fan i said the same thing after the bears win. So you're saying there's a chance? I mean i doubt it because detroit spanks us but i could see them getting my hopes up in the final weeks lol
2025 is JJ McCarthy time. Darnold has been an incredible bridge QB but we just got out of an expensive contract with a good not great qb. we aren't doing that again
It's funny how you analyze the bills game like that. That game wasn't really that close without those penalties, and that quarterback sneak didn't make since helped em lose but helped you be able to make a case in a loss that he's still unequivocally mvp😂
I think Hurts’s terrible slump right now is likely because he’s lost confidence in his ability to throw the ball. The first four weeks of the season they had him passing the ball a lot more and what happened? Turnovers and losses. So through the bye week they probably switched up their offensive gameplan to take the game out of Hurts’s hands and into their avengers level of a roster and what happens? 9 game winning streak and the team looks dominant. That’s gotta be a massive blow to your confidence as a passer-as soon as you stop throwing the ball your team starts winning, and winning in dominant fashion, when it should be the other way around. I’m an eagles fan and I know hurts has the potential to return to top 10 ish form, but he just doesn’t have that it factor some elite qbs do. So when you have a quarterback who is still pretty young, needs true help to develop from a coach, three different play callers over the past three years, and a gameplan that probably doesn’t let him see many true dropback passing reps, his confidence in himself to sling it is likely SHATTERED. I love hurts and want him to succeed, but when I see AJ brown wide open down the field with hurts seeing him one on one but not throwing the ball, it makes me scream at my tv.
Packers had -13 point differential to Lion in their games this year. Chargers had -9 point differential to Chiefs in their games this year. Why arent they the same tier? Chargers have better defense in my opinion.
The reason I think the eagles should be 2 is because the eagles destroyed that same rams team just two weeks ago. Also that bills defense is super leaky
Can’t get behind the Broncos so high Broncos against teams with a losing record: 7-0 Broncos against teams with a winning record: 1-5 (-34 point differential) They’re the good bad team… they’re a bad football team (talent wise) that is well coached and has enough talent to beat up on bad teams… and then lose to every good team they play. They’ll probably finish 10-7 or 9-8 and then get blown out in the first round of the playoffs. They are a playoff team because of their schedule, but they are not a playoff team in terms of quality
Till that franchise QB gets demolished and is no longer able to play at that franchise QB level. I’d rather have a good roster without one. Look at the Steelers right now

Vikings fans are saying that there's no way they're keeping Darnold and it's JJ's team next year but what if Darnold leads them to a deep playoff run? i'm not so sure
The Vikings after this year should extend Darnold at least 1 more year
Lifelong Chiefs fan here, I don't have an issue with the #4 ranking but KC should definitely be in the Super Bowl or bust tier.
14:54 Pause?
All I know is that whichever option the vikings choose... it HAS to be the right one. It's a great place to be but a really tough decision
I was expecting the Giants to still be in the XFL lol
Hello Markus. Thanks for great job. I am looking most for studs and duds. Are there still on schedule post week 13/14? Given moving and draft content. Ty from Prague.
Studs & Duds won't be until after the season 👍
@ThatFranchiseGuy makes me sad. But i get it with your schedule. Looking for them still. Best luck with moving. Ty for the answer.
OMG honey, wake up!! TFG uploaded on Joe Burrows Birthday!!
What really sucks for miami this year is that they might win 10 games this year and miss the playoffs because tua missed 5 weeks.
I’m a long time Vikings fan, and just enjoying the season. Before I actually watch the video, I will say that the 4th quarter against the Falcons had me thinking Darnold may actually be good enough to take the Vikings all the way, which is an insane thing to think.
Also. The only way the Vikings don’t move on to JJ is if we win the Super Bowl.
The Hawks possibly winning next certainly doesn’t lock up the NFC West. Rams are one game behind and beat them earlier this year.
Eagles went against the #1 rushing defense in the ravens and were fine so idk why they think the #2 #3 and so on rushing defense will be any different
The Bears very clearly quit after the Hail Mary
Sam is younger than Burrow and less than a year older than Herbert. Extending Sam for 2-3 years opens so many options for the Vikes, and continuing to develop Sam and JJ creates an option to trade one of them for a significant haul at some point. Note that the Lions, Packers and Seahawks have all overhauled their rosters largely based on the draft picks they got from the Stafford, Rodgers and Wilson trades. Extending Sam creates that opportunity in the Vikes future.
The intriguing opportunity to extend Daniel Jones at back up money and for him to also benefit from KOC and Josh McCown could be another opportunity for Kwesi to leverage some trade value from his as well.
younger than burrow is insane man
Still want Nielsen to realize Armstead is a DT but he has been better as of late
I just want Doug and Trent gone lol
Yeah that's been weird.
Only power rankings I care about
What have the Ravens done to be higher than the Steelers?
The Panthers have been playing feisty lol. They had me (🦅go birds) sweating
so chiefs are 5-1 against (currently to make the playoffs) teams, and bills are 2-2, beating only the "fraudulent" chiefs and the seahawks.
Wouldn't trade JJ unless it's for a first he was the 10th pick in the draft and this year's QB draft class is weaker.
I think it’s an interesting situation. I could honestly see him getting traded for a late 1st rounder tbh.
Did Marcus just praise Nick wright? What a world we live in
I’m just confused on where the Steelers are in the rankings.
If he plays well in January you have to at least try to tag him and see if he can do it again next year.
It will depend on how far we go in the playoffs. If Darnold can get you to the NFC championship game you probably pay the man.
Good luck with that happening if they go to the NFC championship or Super Bowl.
You think the saints even with Carr out will be in that tier?
I do not. Didn't realize it was gonna be a long term injury tbh, figured he'd maybe miss a week
2:35 Sincere^*
what'd I say?
@@ThatFranchiseGuy sincere mccormick is his name
@@jhoe164 i know, wondering what I said instead. Mason?
@@ThatFranchiseGuyyou said “spencer”
@@ThatFranchiseGuy I think Spencer
If the Steelers beat the Eagles this week, do they trade places with the Eagles @ 2 and the Eagles drop back to 8?
Not so sure Aaron Rodgers is playing to save his job in NY, rather than to show out for other teams...I kinda feel like the relationship is over tbh
SODA!
Obamna
14:53 😂😂😂
When are people going to learn you can’t take anything from a qb performance against the falcons defense
Chiefs belong in tier 1 man
It's funny how you analyze the bills game like that. That game wasn't really that close without those penalties, and that quarterback sneak didn't make since helped em lose but helped you be able to make a case in a loss that he's still unequivocally mvp😂
0:23 We've failed you 😔
Not a Vikings guy, Washington fan but Vikings should extend Darnold and keep McCarthy and see if he develops and go from there. Obvious move.
Steelers will need to move to the top tier if they beat the eagles. Let’s see on Sunday
It's a LOT easier to get worse at QB than it is to get better. Be careful what you wish for
I think Hurts’s terrible slump right now is likely because he’s lost confidence in his ability to throw the ball.
Thankathon? I'm more of a Chevy Tank Month kinda guy
I say Goff gets season MVP
Packers had -13 point differential to Lion in their games this year. Chargers had -9 point differential to Chiefs in their games this year. Why arent they the same tier? Chargers have better defense in my opinion.
The reason I think the eagles should be 2 is because the eagles destroyed that same rams team just two weeks ago. Also that bills defense is super leaky
Can’t get behind the Broncos so high
Broncos against teams with a losing record: 7-0
Broncos against teams with a winning record: 1-5 (-34 point differential)
They’re the good bad team… they’re a bad football team (talent wise) that is well coached and has enough talent to beat up on bad teams… and then lose to every good team they play. They’ll probably finish 10-7 or 9-8 and then get blown out in the first round of the playoffs. They are a playoff team because of their schedule, but they are not a playoff team in terms of quality
I'd rather have a bad roster and a franchise quarterback than a good roster and no passer.
I'd rather have the other way around. A bad roster can ruin a good quarterback, and a good roster can fix a previously ruined quarterback.
Till that franchise QB gets demolished and is no longer able to play at that franchise QB level. I’d rather have a good roster without one. Look at the Steelers right now
lions dont want to play the seahowks in the play offs
