Im not going to lie I was genuinely surprised that this doesn't have more views. This is a really good quality video with some good commentary, I found it to be pretty engaging and was a little disappointed that there were only 2 games. This series seems like it could have a pretty interesting story using the "bonded through trauma" dynamic. Personally I haven't played the series but I did get a copy from xbox live gold a while back and I think that I might give it a try.

Hey, thanks for the comments! The philosophy of it really is an intriguing topic. I may not have portrayed it well in the video, but I do enjoy the games and story. All of your ideas you brought I understand and agree. Really a thought provoking game once you get past of its weaker moments.
I will forever adore this game because it got me sooo invested in the story. I love the characters and the depravity. It was like playing through a movie. The only thing I played before it that gave me such a feeling was Max Payne.
I think it's all relative. If there is an audience and a want for more mature games like Kane and lynch then they would make it. Also, there are more mature games out there. Though life is a business so whatever makes money will be sold more.
I would definitely say that I don't "like" this franchise, but I'm most certainly glad that it exists. The second game especially is really important to me and I think it makes sense to me in a way nobody else would understand. I'm glad this series got attention in the recent times. good video, my dude. Hope you get more subs :)
You got me at a really interesting crossroads, K&L has been a curio for me and out of nowhere I've seen videos on the series in my recs. Just starting with a Heat reference already has me hooked! But of all the videos I've seen, you're the only one that talked passionately about the story and even gave more history! You earned a sub on my end!
I really appreciate it! I'm glad someone enjoys the heat reference and enjoys delving into the history and story as much as I do. Hope you stick around :)
This review of the KANE & LYNCH franchise is so underrated I have seen all of the K&L reviews and I feel like it needs more similar to SPEC OPS: THE LINE I am glad to see someone still disecting this franchise Hearing "The Truth Revealed" on the video's credits really gave me goosebumps
Fun fact: the characters ending is hidden in Hitman absolution, Lynch is in the bar outisde of Hope and is part of the bar brawl and kane is actaully in Hope in one of the cells inder rhe courthouse writing his last letter to his daughter. Also if you trigger the nuke easter egg later in the game a cutscene outside of the explosion Lynch is shown free, so the hidden story in that Kane busted Lynch out of prison and ran off.
Allright i just watched 2 videos of you in a row, that's worth a sub. I haven't played these games but i loooove the way the second one looks. It has that Max Payne 3 feel. And i kinda like the edgy/against the grain kinda stuff. Since we don't see that much in gaming. It's all very PG nowadays. I might check these games out sometime, thanks for the video:)
Now I am no game developer and I do understand that game development is not linear but they had a chance. A few more days and maybe annoying features could've been removed.
Way back when games were finished, they were often first copied onto a "master" CD-ROM which was often gold in color. Kind of like how vinyl is pressed.
I so long for a third Kane & Lynch. I like these games more for the titular scumbags than anything. Dead Men's story is a favorite of mine. I love crime dramas. Gameplay was the main issue for me with both games. Dead Men should've had more time in the oven. Dog Days played better, but it was very run of the mill by 2010. Army of Two was better in that regard.
SPOILER WARNING I know this game is mostly hated, but I remember being a kid playing it teally having a fun time. I understood as a kid the uniqueness of it. These guys are not heroes or even anti heroes. They are the bad guys and the guys you fight against are worse. It takes elements from Heat and Collateral. I think what really puts people off is that Kane has little to no redeemable qualities. Perhaps the only good quality he has is he is that he knows no matter if he does return the briefcases he will still be killed, but wants to get them back to save his wife and Jenny. I always wondered if Kane actually betrayed The 7 before the events of the game. Personally I think he did because if you listen to Kane at the end he says something like I don’t leave people to burn, not anymore. Lynch is a unique character because he has schizophrenia and is extremely violent. It’s never definitively proven if Lynch murdered his own wife, but surely the police would have conducted an investigation and found DNA evidence linking Lynch. You could argue he was framed, but who would have wanted to frame Lynch. While not a classic it is definitely a unique story.
Call me a sap, but i always felt bad when (Spoiler) Lynch kills yoko. Yeah they set her up as a villain but it's still a tied up woman and it looks like they beat her up too, and then he kinda just shoots her like a nutcase. As a player you feel responsible. At least when kane's wife gets capped it was the bad guys that did it, not the heroes of the story.
@@madretro yes i agree. I think this was just my first taste of something that traumatic, this was years before i played trevor in gta 5, or the mass murders of spec ops: the line and call of duty. I should have said protagonists, not good guys.
Any Kane & Lynch video will make me happy for the day.

I appreciate the comment and sentiment! Means a ton!
Jesper's Hitman Contracts theme is so good. Honestly all I remember him for, not to undermine his other works.
ed/ Thanks for this. nostalgic
His music is fantastic and thanks for watching!
Yesss, I love the ost for Hitman Contracts. I rly like K&L Dead Men's as well. I wish IO would've hired Jesper for Dog Days & Hitman Absolution.
Loved the beginning, excellent work man!

Great video! Btw if you play as Lynch you see civilians as cops and enter some sort of a rage mode after 3 melee kills, cool details
Yeah! Forgot about that detail. It is pretty neat!
I ❤ this game I never got a chance to play the sequel but wanted to. And I’m truly pissed that the series didn’t/doesn’t get more respect/attention

47 Has the chance to take Lynch down at the gun club when he goes to get his Ballers back.
Both of you are correct lol. Controversial opinion, but I quite enjoy hitman absolution. One of my faves in the series.
That’s a pretty good Al Pacino
Legendary 😎 I appreciate this dude 🙏

4:41 What does going gold mean? I never quite understood it.
Going gold means that it has reached the point where the game is done being developed and is ready for release. It is an odd little term honestly 😅
Now I am no game developer and I do understand that game development is not linear but they had a chance. A few more days and maybe annoying features could've been removed.

Maybe not annoying but some that held back the game.

First game in my opinion a masterpiece, part 2 not so much, it felt like a claustrophobic corridor shooter though it was well acted and gritty.
I really wanna watch this video but I’m about to play the games tomorrow and I already had so much of these 2 games spoiled for me already 😅
