OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast Review (PS2)
This vid needs more views. Such an underrated game it was and still is.
I appreciate it man!
All of the characterization of a piece of Critical war media...Without any of the criticism. Like a cocktail book of which drugs pair well when dissolved in milk sold using the license of "A Clockwork Orange".
I like the analogy! A good way of putting it.
Freedom Fighters combat and level deaign blew my mind as a 12 year old and to this day I dont know of a game that has implemented both like that except maybe Kunitsu Gami this year. Fredsom Fighters is my favorite game of all time for sure 👍
Cool
Epic
Americans killed prisoners all the time in nam better to kill than call a chopper and give all your guys away. And alot of the time if you did do that the helicopter crew would just throw the prisoner out a few hundred feet up
I loved this game when it came out until Red Dead Redemption it was the best western game out there and I miss it faults and all
Yeah, it definitely has iconic moments!
This was the closest to playing a Michael Mann film
I ❤ this game I never got a chance to play the sequel but wanted to. And I’m truly pissed that the series didn’t/doesn’t get more respect/attention
That’s a pretty good Al Pacino
Just the video I was looking for. Copped this in sale from GOG and I’m ready to get nostalgic and unnecessarily violent. Great great great video 🔥
Played this on PC years ago and I loved it
Wow you are reviewing every favourite game 🎮 Just subscribed to your channel Please review hidden and dangerous 2 if possible
Loved the beginning, excellent work man!
Thanks a ton!
So the chopper having gunners fire while you’re in the helicopter is ripping off FMJ?? That’s a really dumb take. They had gunners for a Reason. Thats a military fact not a movie trope
This was an unfair and frankly bad review The game feels like Nam. And was creative in many areas. The details are lovingly put in and the brutality in this game on both sides is very accurate. Goes to show opinions are always different.
Great video! The game looks right up my alley as I really enjoyed the Max Payne series and the janky but underrated "Wet" on the PS3. I had heard about this one but hadn't looked into it. Keep it up :)
Thanks man!
I so long for a third Kane & Lynch. I like these games more for the titular scumbags than anything. Dead Men's story is a favorite of mine. I love crime dramas. Gameplay was the main issue for me with both games. Dead Men should've had more time in the oven. Dog Days played better, but it was very run of the mill by 2010. Army of Two was better in that regard.
My headcanon is the game exists in the tarantinoverse as a terrible action movie based on the jewel heist
I like it 😂
The epitome of amazing cover and terrible game.
No jokes! This game was my favorite when I was a kid…💀
I loved this game
My gramps got me this game for my 7th birthday…..mom made me return it
That is a huge blow! At least you got to experience it a little when you were young
I definitely enjoyed this game when it first came out and I remember seeing it advertised in a magazine (I think it was FHM) and was eagerly waiting for its release. I remember ending it on all levels and my only complaint was that I wish the game was a lot longer. Back then it seemed like every war game that came out had to do with WW2 but this one was one of the first to tap into the Vietnam conflict. I give the game a thumbs up. It wasn’t perfect but I enjoyed it nonetheless. 👍🏾
Shell shock was a masterpiece even more than any modern cod or most games in general
The Civil War was done wayyyy better in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. (At least in terms in gameplay, it might be lacking on the historical accuracy front)
Good to know. Definitely need to check it out
Jesper's Hitman Contracts theme is so good. Honestly all I remember him for, not to undermine his other works. ed/ Thanks for this. nostalgic
His music is fantastic and thanks for watching!
Yesss, I love the ost for Hitman Contracts. I rly like K&L Dead Men's as well. I wish IO would've hired Jesper for Dog Days & Hitman Absolution.
SPOILER WARNING I know this game is mostly hated, but I remember being a kid playing it teally having a fun time. I understood as a kid the uniqueness of it. These guys are not heroes or even anti heroes. They are the bad guys and the guys you fight against are worse. It takes elements from Heat and Collateral. I think what really puts people off is that Kane has little to no redeemable qualities. Perhaps the only good quality he has is he is that he knows no matter if he does return the briefcases he will still be killed, but wants to get them back to save his wife and Jenny. I always wondered if Kane actually betrayed The 7 before the events of the game. Personally I think he did because if you listen to Kane at the end he says something like I don’t leave people to burn, not anymore. Lynch is a unique character because he has schizophrenia and is extremely violent. It’s never definitively proven if Lynch murdered his own wife, but surely the police would have conducted an investigation and found DNA evidence linking Lynch. You could argue he was framed, but who would have wanted to frame Lynch. While not a classic it is definitely a unique story.
Bloody 'el. I remember this game being sucks
Oh yeah its a little rough
Any Kane & Lynch video will make me happy for the day.
“They are no good men, just devils…” my man cold with the rhetoric
I want to see more of Kane & Lynch. Loved the series
This game is a stone cold classic!!! We need more but in this modern era never going to happen
Nah. It's fortnite/cod etc chief...
@@Moe_Lester_fromUptwn you brainwashed as a live service addict
Not in this woke softy soft era
I think it's all relative. If there is an audience and a want for more mature games like Kane and lynch then they would make it. Also, there are more mature games out there. Though life is a business so whatever makes money will be sold more.
Amazing game. Thanks.
What's the game on 3:25
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
Think of it like this: don't take the story or mechanics too seriously. Just enjoy the mash up of all the Vietnam War stereotypes from Hollywood and pop culture being put into a box and see how they'd react in the writers' bleak interpretation of war. It actually made for some good unintentional commentary on the legacy of the war itself. I think, if anything, it turns the game into a type of unironic satire that pokes fun at those stereotypes and myths made up of the war by those who never fought it. :)
I didn't think about it like that. Pretty smart!! Thanks for the food for thought :)
I loved the first kane and lynch. The tone, the gameplay, all of it.
I really wanna watch this video but I’m about to play the games tomorrow and I already had so much of these 2 games spoiled for me already 😅
Go play them first!
First game in my opinion a masterpiece, part 2 not so much, it felt like a claustrophobic corridor shooter though it was well acted and gritty.
Don’t forget the history channel battle of the pacific!
Ooooo might have to try that one out!
the dont forget me guy...i never forgot him
Don’t play it on pc I have and it always crashed on me it’s sequel secret missions otherwise is playable on pc
Good to know! I don't have any other game in the history channel lineup, but I might plan on it eventually
I like this laidback style for smaller videos, it's a good way to get some more eyes on the channel! As for the game, I've never heard of it before and it seems like quite a unique title. A bit cluncky but cool nonetheless. Also, it came out in 2006!? Damn, it was already dated when it launched lol. Good luck with the channel bro, i'll keep watching for sure ^^
Thanks! I really appreciate it and glad someone else enjoys more laid-back styles as well.
@@madretro Yo yo! How are you doing? Do you have a video in the works?
I don't have a video yet! Right now, I started back classes, and life just got in the way. Though I have a video half way finished that I want to refilm. So hopefully by maybe next month 😅
@@madretro Ah all good, I get that. As long as you don't give up on the channel :)
@GameTalesHQ never will
I remember when I got to play AC3 for the first time on my 360 too. It'll always hold a special place in my heart for combining my love for American History and stealth games. Thanks for memories!
No problem, man! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Call me a sap, but i always felt bad when (Spoiler) Lynch kills yoko. Yeah they set her up as a villain but it's still a tied up woman and it looks like they beat her up too, and then he kinda just shoots her like a nutcase. As a player you feel responsible. At least when kane's wife gets capped it was the bad guys that did it, not the heroes of the story.
It definitely does suck when it happens. Though honestly, Kane and lynch are as horrible as the rest. There are really no heroes in the story.
@@madretro yes i agree. I think this was just my first taste of something that traumatic, this was years before i played trevor in gta 5, or the mass murders of spec ops: the line and call of duty. I should have said protagonists, not good guys.
Hey, no worries! It definitely makes them very compelling characters!
Weakest hack in the game😊
@jenspeterkurup okay I need to know what you mean by this 😅
I will forever adore this game because it got me sooo invested in the story. I love the characters and the depravity. It was like playing through a movie. The only thing I played before it that gave me such a feeling was Max Payne.
Fun fact: the characters ending is hidden in Hitman absolution, Lynch is in the bar outisde of Hope and is part of the bar brawl and kane is actaully in Hope in one of the cells inder rhe courthouse writing his last letter to his daughter. Also if you trigger the nuke easter egg later in the game a cutscene outside of the explosion Lynch is shown free, so the hidden story in that Kane busted Lynch out of prison and ran off.
47 Has the chance to take Lynch down at the gun club when he goes to get his Ballers back.
Both of you are correct lol. Controversial opinion, but I quite enjoy hitman absolution. One of my faves in the series.
Hey, Awesome video! I never understood the hate this game got, it's definitely underrated. (Although AC2 is still my favorite) It's a fitting ending to the Desmond trilogy and I loved Connor as a protagonist. The soundtrack with the native american chants is awesome as well. Also, you really stepped up your editing in my opinion! The animated character is a nice touch. Only thing I noticed in the intro was the standard font for the text in Sony Vegas, it looks a bit cheap if you ask me. And I heard you repeat a line twice at around the 16 minute mark. Other than that, great video man!
HEY, THANKS! Yeah, I never thought about the text, and thanks for the good criticism and calling me out of the repeated voice line 😅 totally missed it!
@@madretro No worries man! Excited to see your next project 😎
1:45 does anyone know the name of the song in the background
Marathon Infinity Theme
i liked Kowalski's fate because he honestly looked pitiful, which was a fitting end for his brash and violent nature.
Yeah, not wrong at all! It's a good ending. Just sometimes wished he had more depth, but maybe I'm asking to much 😅
4:41 What does going gold mean? I never quite understood it.
Going gold means that it has reached the point where the game is done being developed and is ready for release. It is an odd little term honestly 😅
Now I am no game developer and I do understand that game development is not linear but they had a chance. A few more days and maybe annoying features could've been removed.
Way back when games were finished, they were often first copied onto a "master" CD-ROM which was often gold in color. Kind of like how vinyl is pressed.
Maybe not annoying but some that held back the game.
@@mandu6665 Thanks.
Great video! Btw if you play as Lynch you see civilians as cops and enter some sort of a rage mode after 3 melee kills, cool details
Yeah! Forgot about that detail. It is pretty neat!
