Another amazingly detailed, well presented and professional video. Watching your videos isn't just informative and entertaining, it's inspirational! I must admit that as I'm still to get use a fully modular power supply in a build I've always hidden my cables, but watching this series has actually made my think twice about having some on display as a feature. We all have different things that drive our style and our mods, but your builds are of such a high standard that they resonate with the whole modding community. You should have over 1 mil subscribers, not 100k. People need to know about this channel!
Thank you. Its a major milestone for us. Finally we have a solid way of funding the channel. What better than creating hardware when it is what we all share a passion for.
Hey @SingularityComputers could you just rip the connectors from the stock psi cabled and put them on to the new ones? Also could you follow the cable's diagram as well?
First off, I love your builds they are beautiful, well-executed and so detailed. I've noticed you use a similar pump and res configuration on many of your builds. What do you use and how do you attach the pump directly to the res? The only EK reservoirs that I found that can do that are the pump/res combos.
Bitspower Upgrade Kits. You need to purchase the parts separately, they are kind of hard to find and figure out. Keep and eye out, Im doing something soon, all I can say for now.
So question, I am looking into making some of my own PSU cables as I have a Rosewill Photon 1050 watt power supply, not sure if Photon is very big in the states, it is in China & maybe other countries but not here, so just about any cable mod site I find who does cables, they don't offer cables for it, so at this point I'm just going to try to do my own. Is there a good way to find the pin diagram of the PSU? Have some from a cable company in China that I ordered, they work for the most part, but the sata cables don't power my drives for some reason & the 24pin mobo cable is a train wreck, so I want to make a few them and want to make sure i do it correctly so any advice would be great.

The GPU in my case is right next to the psu modular outs. Would it matter if I did a PCIE cable that was just a couple inches long? I’m not sure if the reduction in resistance would have a dangerous or negative effect.
Hello.. I'm about to build my first liquid cooled set up ever . I always watch your videos and I'm sure that some time ago, in a previous video of yours, you talked about the differences between serial and parallel sli bridge connections. You did it in a marvellous and very deep way, as usual. Can you tell me in which video (you did it more than once) the description is the longest and the most articulated? My set up will have a simple dual GPU (not triple or quad) but it's soooo interesting! I would really appreciate to download that video. Thanks SOOOO much!
What is you're opinion about wraparound cables? Cable sleeves on atx cable in a nonmodular PSU. Holy shit ! i would never bother with that. Its such a miniscule thing. With a lot of effort.
Do you subtract cable length between each cablerow to avoid the 'rainbow' effect? I've read that some like to have one row ~5mm shorter than the other so you have more even cablebends. Also, could you recommend any sleeving tool kits? I know that you prefer to use MDPC-X tools, but they are kind of pricey to be honest. (not planning to sleeve multiple builds) Cheers
I've recently got into custom wiring and my trouble at the moment is how to neatly store all of the wire and sleeving that you buy? I can't think of a good way of storing it neatly, would you mind telling me how/where you keep yours? Thanks!
wiideathmod when you say custom made PC you mean not pre-built system if soo Cable Mods cables are fine for your first gaming build as I'm going the same route
What are your thoughts on trying to run two pcs from a single PSU? It should be achievable, but I have been wondering about voltage fluctuations when one PC turns off or drops load etc. Phanteks have a splitter but it should be possible just by splitting cables.
***** The Phanteks splitter I thought was made in regards to their recent dual system case, the Enthoo Mini XL DS. I would assume you're correct but I would like to try it still.
The way I started was first buying a fully modular power supply, and using the provided cables & connectors. I did the cables by pulling the pins out of the connector just one wire at a time and sleeving them. I re-inserted the pins after finishing each wire - taking away the possibility of mixing the wires. This of course will not adjust the length of the cables, etc. but it was a great way to start and I learned a lot by doing my first cable sleeved build this way. Now that I've learned through this experience I've done more including using fresh wire to start with, changing the lengths to match, etc.
Q: what type of wire are you using? Beside stranded, and 16 Gauge? Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon coated OR something else? Also RE: Fan Pins, are your pins on your website compatible with thermaltake's Riing 14 LED RGB 256 Colors Fan? And where can I get their m/f female connectors (between the fan and their controler)?
Blacklab412294 - Looking at this with my EE hat, the whole wiring system, soup to nuts, is mass overkill. The insulation is irrelevant for many reasons. The most important two are the voltage is less than ten percent of any legal insulation rating (unless you buy hobby shop unlisted hook up wire), and the sleeving has no approved use at all and negates the insulation completely. It may as well be wrapped in tin foil. Ok, from a builders point of view, if you can get business insurance to indemnify you (or as a buyer, your homeowners coverage), do what pleases you. I can't see how any of this gets past EMF approval. This is art.
Yahtadi Shidiq At the end of the day, yes. without knowing the make of the motherboard, I would say the 8 pins are for the CPU, and the 6 pin for providing extra power to the PCI slots in the case of multiple GPUs. The 24pin powers the MB plus some extra for the PCI slots.
can someone give me link to good quality connectors? 1x 24pin connector and 1x extension, 1x cpu 8 pin connector and 1x extension and last, 2x pcie (gpu) 8 pin connectors and 2x extensions
So much money and effort spent creating custom colored cables and then planning how to route them so they are the least visible makes no sense. It's like buying RGB lights and then painting over them so no light can be seen... I'll go in the opposite direction with as much of the cabling in view and a focal point.
Great video, been following the build, pretty cool. I do have a little question. When making measurements for the cables, couldn't you just use one of factory cable set and route it where you need it then do a subtraction from it to come up with what length you need. Any comment?
8am UK. What a great way to start the day by watching something great.

hey man... congrats on getting your stuff on performance-pcs here is the USA.... awesome man...

Congrats Daniel, really Happy to see your Ethereal reservoir mounts on Performance PCs, great job man.
Great video once again. Always learn something new keep up the awesome job.
Really good stuff and a public service. Sad to see it stopped.
very useful information. hope to see alot more builds with cleaner cable management

Your work is awesome! Looking forward to front panel wiring! Thank you!!!
When is part 3? I imagine you'll go over actually sleeving a cable?
where do you get the sleeving at, and what are the sizes for the 18 gauge?
Great video, just couldnt stop wondering, why didnt buy a fully modular PSU

If you have a pin ejector can you not use the ends that came with the power supply?
Ryan Wall any results?

should have left for work 10mins ago but I'm watching this great video instead haha
What is you're opinion about wraparound cables?
Cable sleeves on atx cable in a nonmodular PSU. Holy shit ! i would never bother with that.
Its such a miniscule thing. With a lot of effort.
I always wanted hardware manufacturers to CAN type screw connectors
How do we know what size paracord to get for the different gauge cables?

hi when your sleeving your fans what kind of cable sleeving you using? like how many MM of the sleeving

Buy a plastic bin, make some separators, and boom
which do you prefer, length or volume ?
Is it matter if i use mini-fit jr or micro-fit 3.0 for the connectors?
What sleeving do you use? How thick? 3mm, 7mm,13mm...?
would you use cable mods custom cable modular power supply or build your own building your first-ever custom pc
wiideathmod when you say custom made PC you mean not pre-built system if soo Cable Mods cables are fine for your first gaming build as I'm going the same route

I would be worried about getting the pin out wrong or crossing up some of the wires. That is the only reasons I have not done custom cables.

3:30 if you attach all of power connection into Motherboard, what would happen? would that fried it?
Need answer here please
What do you mean? Plug in all of the 24 pin and all 6/8pins?
Yes!
If you plug in all connectors that the MB can take, then all you'll have is a proper working MB
Lets say there is a mobo with 24 pins and 2x8pins plus 1x6pins
I only plug 24 pins to power my mobo, is that mean that i dont properly power my mobo?
Yahtadi Shidiq At the end of the day, yes. without knowing the make of the motherboard, I would say the 8 pins are for the CPU, and the 6 pin for providing extra power to the PCI slots in the case of multiple GPUs. The 24pin powers the MB plus some extra for the PCI slots.
screw combs, i glue my cables together, better get them right the first time :)
can someone give me link to good quality connectors? 1x 24pin connector and 1x extension, 1x cpu 8 pin connector and 1x extension and last, 2x pcie (gpu) 8 pin connectors and 2x extensions
on aliexpress or amazon it'll be very good

just saw that he is selling to na
go to dazmode btw if ur qpndering
wondering*
lol one cord cost as much as some peoples cpu s
What case is that? If you can even call it a case lol
Fahrenheit38 ThermalTake I believe
Thermaltake Core P5
first.. score
fuck u
second....
