Deep Six - "Say no more"
Yet another underrated comment
@@lionelcopeland7805 do you know what's underrated
@@Andre-ww5sr He wouldn't have said it then. Also, the other comments have like 1K likes, so yeah.
More like Deep Six - "Help me step robot!"
I wish competitive gamers in general were like this.
Especially in card gaming.
I love Smee's driver "hey is there anything I can do?"
He wanted to help 'em out so the fight could continue.
Agreed
The epitome of failed design when you can't even help, let alone attack.
well he took out the wheel as he planned, and because of that Deep Six got stuck@@Nawazaahr
I feel like if he asked Deep Six to shut their weapon off, he could have safely pushed them out from the front rather than wedging them in even further. Still good sportsmanship, he at least tried to help and was not necessarily there to win, but just have a fun fight.
So cute :3
The driver of SMEEEE is a pretty nice guy in the battlebox
he loves the sport and is very supportive backstage. You can see him cheering along with his opponents at the end of every fight he has, especially after his fight with P1 in season 5
Ye its almost always the young guys and rookies
The captain of scorpios is a nice guy
Yeah.. SMEEEEE would have helped Deep Six to come out by pushing from other side only if Deep Six would stop his spinning weapon.
He has the best bot name ever .
The floor finally gets its revenge on deep six after 3 years from that nelly fight.

It’s too bad, the title was extremely misleading. 👎🏻
Youd think theyd start putting some more good ones on here to entice passerbys to pay for the better fights. *sighs*
whether he wins or loses, i really have to tip my hat to smeeeeeeeeeeeee. such a bizarre, yet original machine. i love that he managed to take off a tire from deep six.
It looked like a hard counter to Deep Six. Regardless of whether he got his fork stuck, one of those wheels was likely going to come off once encircled, and without a weapon to defeat Smee's angled design, it would have been an uphill fight.
This is my first time seeing smeee. The thing that blew me away is when I saw it my first thought was "Ok two ends, two guys controlling each end" to see it was one guy makes that even more impressive.
What does SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE even do? It looks like a wedge. How did it take off that wheel?
@@wtfduud Underneath each "box" on either end (where the wheels are) is a spinning blade. So it is trying to encircle the other bot, and then attack with the saws from either side. Look closely at about 3:52, there's a horizontal white circular blur right under where the "S" is - that's the blade.
it has undercutters on both ends. that's what took out Deep Six's wheel.@@wtfduud
Well, I wanted to see destruction, but I'll take good sportsmanship as a fair trade-off.
Fair
I mean At least None of the robots blew up. I feel like if deep 6 hit smee and fell, it would take a lot of dmg, and if deep 6 hit smee smee would prob take a lot of dmg. Good to see both robots fine. That fall into the killsaw slot is very unfortunate though
SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE's tactics were underrated here. They disabled the wheel (tyre shredded), which resulted in significantly impairing Deep Six's control. They almost immediately then drove into the slots.
SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE is the dumbest fighting robot I have seen since robot wars.
Smeee is another form to fight in place of only brute force. They work with defense. Each robot has his weaknesses, and no one is a skilled 100% ready expert, we are humans. Smeee has the courage to walk where less people try. And each robot has upgrades on seasons, this being a first try would be promising.
@@kidShibuya this whole battle was a freak accident. And smeeeeee is by far not the dumbest robot. Remember comedy centrals battle bots? There were so many dumb ideas
@@kidShibuya - Dumbest? You must have missed "Counter Revolution." Looked like an old movie projector and about as effective. Took less time for Tombstone to destroy that it takes to read my post.
@@scootergeorge9576 Counter Revolution wasn't a half bad bot in Robogames 2015. Still didn't hold a candle to 2015 Tombstone.
Honestly as sorry as I feel for deep six, matches like this are good in a "low ground" meta. It reminds you that there are risks for all kinds of bot designs, and encoyrages different constructions/tactics
I'd love to see it against Huge.
Like, pro tip, dont make a fork the same width as the killsaw slots.
@@S3b0rg Honestly this possibility never even came to mind until now. I don't blame the Deep Six team. Things like this are only obvious in hindsight
To be fair Deep 6 isn't realy part of that low ground meta, those forks arent there for getting under people they are there to stop the robot from Gyroing into the floor.
@@111111hakar that's certainly fair. However the more fights that end with forks being the downfall of the bot, the more unstable the low ground meta might become.
Although a hybrid of deep six and axe backwards sounds incredibly amusing
I like Joe Fabiani. Even during the battle he wants to help his opponent.
I don't think that was helping, it looked more like trying to stick them deeper
Yh that was nice
By helping he would extend the fight and therefore he would have more fun which was his main goal for that battle.
@@dylank6225 He would have helped by pushing Deep Six from other side, only if Deep Six would stop his spinning weapon.
I think most of the builders want a good fight, generally.
You can tell this is not how the winners of this fight wanted to win.
Yes. Joe Fabiani wanted to have a convincing win and a good fight.
I really wish they had the "interview" afterwards. I wanted to know how the teams felt about such a weird match. Just because they are C tier bots doesn't mean the teams shouldn't get a voice.
I know they interview both teams in the televised events - but usually only show the winners' answers. Maybe it's the case here? I dunno. Either way, they should've talked to them, because you just know both sides were disappointed.
Personally, if it was my call, I'd have declared it stuck and called for a reset, or go straight to the judges (which SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE would've almost certainly won, because Joe managed to do damage)
You are the only 2 people that would care. That’s why

"Is there anything I could do?" *nudges them deeper into the crevice*
jajajaja
In all fairness, it would have been dumb of Smeee to hit Deep Six from the other side while it still had its weapon spinning
Is there anything I can do?
You see the side with the giant vertical spinner? Push from that side.
Oh no there's nothing I can do
Deep six should have turned off the spinner so they could get pushed out.
I think he was trying to get the blade of Deep Six to hit the floor, hopefully kicking it out. You can hear Six's driver trying to do that before the hit.
The driver of smeee was the nicest driver of all.
He is awesome. I am not particularly a fan of his bot, but him and his team are a real class act. As good as they come.
@@wishusknight3009 me too, he's incredible💗
Well, that totally went the way nobody expected.
Spoiler alert:
At least Smeeeeeeeee survived to fight another day.
At first I was sceptical about SMEEEEEEE's ground game because of the sharp forks of Deep Six, but because of the big diameter of spinner Deep Six was unstable and the end of the fight was obviouse from the very beginning. It will be good for Deep Six team to think about solid disc with teeth probably, it will be more stable that way.
@@simovtransportmedia1137 the problem with a disk that large would be

The driver of smeeee seems super chill, like he doesn't even care if he wins or loses. He just wants to see carnage
I love seeing oddball bots get a win once in a while, no matter how. Good sportsmanship is a big bonus.
I don't know why, but this scene gets to me...you can feel it...I tear up everytime I see it...Amazing...
Another match where Deep Six went the deeper into the box than any other bot.
Lol
Six feet deep one might say. 😁
@@SquishyTrym lol
I can safely say that this is one of the battlebots fights of all time
One indeed. One indeed.
Tonight on Battlebots it’s Latitude vs Longitude!
I love how SMEEEEE’s driver was trying to help get them out and even asking if there was anything they could do, that’s good sportsmanship right there! Not taking advantage of the situation due to it no longer being a fair fight is something I love to see, we don’t see it often but when we do it’s something special
Sportsmenship is underrated and underappreciated. SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE's driver is such a good guy. Reminds me of Ray before being asked to play the "villain".
Man that's a heartbreak. Both teams just wanted a good fight, even with the sportsmanship of "what can I do?".
Good to Smee working as intended. I still think the blades may be lacking the reach and power to do significant damage, although they did get the exposed tire here.
I think the undercutters are more secondary weapons - primarily there to fill out the active-weapon quota. The main goal of SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, as with the beetleweight version, is to use the central wall to corral and bully their opponent. Mind you, the undercutters did take out one of Deep Six's wheels shortly before it got stuck in the killsaws.
I agree if they had longer undercut spinners they do alot more damage Think they got the wheel when deep six got stuck in killsaws but if smee had longer spinners they be a real contender
Congrats for SMEE for avenging fellow NYC competitor in Evan Arias and Pain Train. And it hurts for me to see Deep Six lose. Imagine SMEE getting chopped in half. Also didn't expect Deep Six's prong to get stuck that deep. Get it? Deep? No I'll stop.
Oh now it makes sense why they fought
I am already on the bridge about ready to step off. You promise that's the last 'Deep' joke?
@TriVos Ahren THats what she said last night
Deep Six got deep sixed by a slot in the floor. Weld some pads on either sides of those projecting spears so it doesn't happen again.
They’re UHMW plastic I believe
They have the measurements. Should have thought about it before.
Love how the SMEEEE driver asks if he can do anything to remove Deep Six from the hole as soon as the count starts. Don't see that everyday.
If Deep Six had turned off their weapon I think Smeeeeeee would have pushed them out from the other side.
No
@@mdcb8894 maybe
Don't think it would have been possible. Deep Six's weapon takes almost a minute to spin down, they would have been counted out anyway by then.
It's really hard to predict what's going to happen with these unique bots (Smeeee, Deep 6, Mammoth, Huge,...) That's why I love 'em. Win or lose, my hat's off to the builders trying to break the mold.
One unsaid advantage that "gimmick" bots have is that people underestimate them. People have made that mistake fighting HUGE and Rusty, especially Rusty. He might be having a terrible season this time, but during the bounty hunters season? I know that Matt Spurk was rather shocked when Rusty literally tore Kraken apart
Well, now we know, why this seemingly „dream fight“ was RUclips exclusive.
It’s really unfortunate for Deep Six, go down like that is always the worst way. I definitely will give SMEEEEEE! credits tho, their careful tactic to avoid D6‘s blade, while still being aggressive was really good, it‘s definetky wasn’t JUST luck for them, well deserved win is my opinion.
It wasn't luck at all. Notice how Smee destroyed their opponents tire, immediately making them loose control.
They would of had that whole side get smashed opened, had the slots not been there
Agree, without the slot, sme(e)*n could still have won. They got the ground game locked it seemed, and the width proved to allow them to get at the small exposed wheels of deep six. Sme(e)*n looks almost purpose built to take on something like deep 6.
@@crashfactory Deep Six shares multiple weaknesses with it's spiritual predecessor, Nightmare. If the weapon or the height of the machine doesn't cause it's downfall, it's gonna be it's wheels
THe smee team wanted a good fight which is unfortunate cos deep 6 just got stuck
Most underwhelming fight of the season so far, perhaps even the whole tournament.
Very unfortunate that the fork fits perfectly into the slot lol
Agreed.
battlebots is a game of maneuverability as much as power, and deep six appears to have none
doesn't help that its forks seem perfectly shaped for the slots lol
Gyro forces go BRRRRR
I love this fight for all the wrong reasons.

I can hear the cries of Captain Hook! "SMEEEEEE!!!" As the tick-tock of the clock gets louder!
Not to be that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy. Aside from Jackpot v Deadlift these fights have all been poor. I get it that these were cut out of the episodes for a reason but when they are all that people outside the US can view it kinda makes the show look a little lame internationally.
It worries me as the show itself is excellent with some fantastic battles and I'd love to see Battlebots do well globally. But when stuff like this is what the world is seeing on RUclips it doesn't make people want to check it out in full. It also doesn't show the builders at their full potential - Deep Six had an amazing fight against Pain Train that was nothing like this!!
Perhaps a quick highlights reel of some of the devastating hits from each episode should be uploaded as well to counterbalance these less than awesome battles?
Yeah, also they should allow reuploads of the series on RUclips. I in Austria have absolutely no way of watching the show even though I'm a huge fan
Frankly I'm surprised they don't have these blocked in all countries except America, since they seem to put more effort into hiding they exist from the world than putting themselves out there
@@thedman1696 This show is the definition of shooting yourself in the foot. It's like they want to be cancelled a 4th time.
I agree 100%.
@TriVos Ahren They are supposedly airing it in a handful of countries, but Discovery refused to export it to the UK for the longest time because the Robot Wars reboot got low ratings. Now they're finally doing it...but only season 3 and only one one of the least watched channels in the entire country.
If Smee could figure out a way to get more power and bits out of its blades, it could be a really really good bot.l
Joe Fabiani's said before that SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE was pretty under-powered last season, so hopefully he's improved on that. In one fight during the Bounty Hunters season he got flipped, and the spinners still did good damage, so that's something he could consider for the future, too.
But yeah, more power for SMEEEEEEEEE... assuming he can find a way to shave the extra weight off the middle.
yea, the left spinner looked abysmal in the video but hopefully that's just some crunch they smooth out before next fight
SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE with a masterclass performance. Their mini saws actually got Deep Six's wheels prior to them getting stuck in the killsaw slot. Strategy worked the way SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE wanted it to go!
Except for the deep 6 getting stuck Part XD. Great Strat, good excecution, Unluck on Deep 6 side
I love the good sportsmanship on Battlebots. Smeeeee's builder really wanted to help Deep Six.
Clearly one of those fights that looked great on paper but just didn't work out that way
SMEE as a name has got to be a meme in this community man - just imagine missing out or adding one extra E! Think it would be nice if one new E meant a new iteration, and not like Chomp - no v2, no Mark 2, they're all called Chomp.
The builder himself doesn't have an official number if E's for his robots name. He just puts a bunch of E's and calls it good. The crowd was all into it lol.
@@thejman3489 We still have our E's 😁
Being new to watching this (as in like tonight), when I saw the name I thought, oh, he's a Subject Matter Expert. And clearly in this fight he was.
lol that'd be the best troll ever. by smee 10: smeeeeeeeeeeee
I wonder how much of a disadvantage the raised platform was going to be for a super long bot like SMEE. That thing would turn into a pinata the moment it is forced into those corners.
From my understanding from a stream Andrea Gallatly did on her channel, it seems that nobody on the production team told them about the shelf (or about the OOTA rule-change) before they got there, long after it was way too late to adjust
@@askylibrarianoftheoceans4102 RIP anyone who needs long spin up times. I felt the frustration in the Gigabyte's first match. This is going to make control bots shine. Maybe Sawblaze's season.
Hats off to the driver of Smee The sportmasship was incredible. Trying to help the opponent is a rare occurrence.
“Wiggle in the middle but he packs much smack”
Genius reference 👌
The fans: "We wanna see Deep Six cut SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE in half!"
Physics: "You know what, I'm taking the day off."
It would only result in less EEEEEEEE 🤣
Smeeeeeeee’s greatest weaknesses are those very short spinners it has for weapons which limit their reach and their driving skills. I was surprised at how fast they were moving in the precheck, better than last season. So I think with a little more experience in the box and a weapon rethink they will be insanely strong
I think they need to switch from spinners to hammers or even vertical spinners. They need a weapon that can beat up an opponent once they've wrapped them up.
Smeee is a dual bot with extra steps. It's gonna be very hard for a bot like that to do damage.
yes! the only thing they need to do to take this bot to the next level (and not get stuck in the slots)treds; they don't want to be off the floor add treds t to the sides so it can lift up go forward. or just replace the sides with treds to hand hang freely like swing and use the whole blade and bode as a pendulum. which would be funny and a good troll! Hydra I flip all day long...then I run away from deep six. so the car isn't turned into a smoking reck.
FYI, video starts @ 3:42
Deep Six's fork gets stuck in the killsaw slots and Smee wins by basically doing nothing. There, I just saved you five and a half minutes of your life.
"Is there anything I can do?" Got me rolling
Golly I feel so bad for Deep Six to lose that way even though they beat Pain Train but full credit to Joe of SMEEEEEE for offering to help
Anyone got a link to those dope LED Sunglasses the guy in the audience is wearing?
I appreciate the return of the Comedy Central sound effects in this one
Faruq is a national treasure.
Some people may think this fight is boring. I think the other way around. It's nice to see a unique bot working the way it should be.
I thought it was nice to see how they both wanted a fight but unfortunately we couldn’t see a fight.
Well Deep 6 pulled a Lock Jaw.
SMEEEE is the guy who almost never wins but everyone loves them
I wanted SMEEEE to win but not like this. It warmed my heart when (at 5:02) team SMEEE asked if there was anything they could do. I loved it. Like, I want to win, but not like this.
Smee is an incredibly interesting design. Love the variety
As underwhelming as the fight was, I think smeeeeeeeeeeeeee ripping apart one of deep six tires off is what gave him the win. Even if freed its unlikely that deep six would have gotten much more than mammoth vs tombstone like circles anyway. This was honestly such a bad match-up for both teams, and wound up being a terrible fight
Imagine going all the way to battlebots paying money for a ticket and this is the fight you see...
I appreciate the driver of SMEEEEE doing his level best to unstick his opponent without getting unnecessarily torn in half by D6’s weapon.
What a shame. i was really excited to see what kinda impact deep six can do. it seems like an unlucky matchup^^ no other bot would have been wide and low enough to block them like that^^

Always lovely to see the dissolution of the Ego from the Game. Gotta respect the respect.
The most anti-climatic fight in Robotics history
well that was disappointing.. I was hoping to see a robot in pieces.
The fact SMEEEEEEEEEEEEE's name was so long was because it was the max amount of characters on the sign up form makes me love it even more.

Even if some of the bots are not that effective I enjoy seeing the far out designs that these innovative builders come up with.
This was so beyond anticlimatic.
That in itself is an understatement
Nice job spoiling the outcome with that thumbnail, guys. Thanks.

The killsaws are now just glorified holes in the floor for bots to get stuck in
Well I don't think that was the way SMEEEEEEEEE wanted to win. But a wins a win I suppose.
Also, if you built Deep Six in RA2 I doubt it would glitch through the floor as much as it has irl.
Even if Deep Six got out of that slot, it would still be a incapacitated as one of its will is shot
Not really. The wheel was still working it just wouldn't have had as much grip
@@bongoman9578 they could also try surviving off gyroing like Minotaur did against bombshell
If Deep Six had gone with shorter forks in front of its wheels, instead of long ones that kept its blade from reaching the opponent and ultimately got stuck in the floor, there might have been two robots going into the fight and three coming out.
Deep Six, Smeeeeeeeeee, and eeeeeeeeeeee!
Well, I guess we now know why this was a RUclips fight.
Arena floor wins again.
I'm having flashbacks...
The floor finally got it's revenge on deep six after the nelly fight.
Time to get rid of the arena hazards
Deep Six's fork is now 6 inches deep under the box!
"Hit me. Hit me!"
Just like when you need something to get you unstuck in an online game.
Clickbait title bad
That doesn’t seem fair thou, deep six didn’t do anything until they got caught in the killsaws, aren’t they gonna remove deep six to the killsaws and then resume the fight? Deep six is kinda robbed thou and that similar thing happen to other bot from past seasons?
No. Why would they remove the bot? If a single bot get stuck it's the team's problem, not Battlebots. Look at Cobalt vs Duck.
Sometimes I think the arena needs to be a simple steel floor. No saws, no platform, no pulverisers not even the jagged perimeter wall. Just a steel floor with steel side barriers. Maybe even take a leaf out of MMA's book and make it an octagon so its harder to get stuck in corners.
I kind of feel the same way about the Robot Wars arena and House Robots to a point. The pit I can sort of understand since it requires activation by a machine in the arena but the rest like the flipper, spikes and house robots I dont really care for.
One thing I could see a use for is a 'Ref Bot' that can provide a visual guide inside the box for countdowns and perhaps even attempt separation of stuck bots.... Maybe even a 'Ref Cam' for a unique inside the box perspective. The Ref Bot its self would remain in its own little alcove until its presence is needed as to stay out the way of the actual match.
@@Outland9000 This'll never happen
@@blakemaddox3681 oh, I'm well aware of that.
It wouldn't have mattered. Deep Six still lost it's left wheel, so it probably would've been counted out anyways.
simplicity is the name of this game . Engineers tend to overthink a lot of the time especially in battle bots . fewer moving parts an impenetrable shell and a super simple weapon will take you to the finals . the more complex it is, the more to go wrong
He first tried to get Deep6 out of there, and when the countdown began he even asked if there was another way.
Well, um... that's certainly not what I was anticipating.
Still, it looked like this was a bad match-up for Deep Six even before the Killsaws' rather _unexpected_ way of knocking it out.
The tines Deep Six used for stability kept catching on SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, preventing its main weapon from making contact.
This also preventing its opponent from being able to make contact either, so if it weren't for the environment knockout, it probably would've come down to Control and aggression points.
Smee shreaded a tire so it made contact.
@@gggamer3851 Yeah, that last hit right before Deep Six went into the killsaw slot was dead-on the tire, shredding it.
Smee worked perfectly in this fight, much to the chagrin of Deep Six. They tore off a tire and Deep Six lost all traction on one side. Smee might have been able to push Deep Six out from the other direction but that would involve running face first into that blade which was asking a bit much.
No
Engineers: "Oh yeah our reccomendation is the floor and surface substrate conditions should be factored for subsequent matches..."
selection committee: 'hey lets put Deep Six up against a robot that is too low to hit with it's weapon, that will be a fun fight!'
Shouldve dislodged them and restarted the match akin to a two bot entanglement. What an unfortunate loss
Nah. That only happened if both bots get stuck to each other. If one got stuck it's their problem. Look at Cobalt vs Duck. Or Minotaur vs Death Roll.
I know. In terms of strict fairness like it's just a thing they have to deal with. But as a spectator sport I can't help but think what could've been
@@GoldTacoProductions nah
Not gonna lie, i feel like this is probable the biggest BS countout I've ever seen, getting stuck on the wall is one thing, but inside a killsaw? At this point just remove them, they almost never add anything to a fight anyways, and the slots only serve as a hazard for bots to get stuck on.
Dont think they saw that coming. Was fun to watch. Great video
The judges were a bit stuck. It was was awrap.. till it was a split decision.
Commendable sportsmanship, but CLEARLY a rematch is needed.

Smart enough to build a bot but not enough to realize he was pushing the other bot the wrong way to get it unstuck. He was actually driving it in further.
