@@kidShibuya It was pretty insane. I 100% would have given it to Uppercut too. It took some serious power for it to push HUGE back like that. It also of course gets points for aggression, and seems like it did the most physical damage, even if they were both rendered immobile.

It's a very clear result, Huge stopped moving first for around 9 seconds before Uppercut stopped moving; Uppercut got its wheel jammed into the Upper Deck's toothed side bar.
I agree however if it wasn’t the tournament I’d consider it a double ko. Being the tournament someone has to go forward so yeah uppercut but If it was the qualifiers it should be a double ko bc uppercut got themselves stuck by attacking a disabled bot if they didn’t attack they would’ve still disabled it and would’nt have gotten stuck. Obviously hind sight though surprisingly fun fight!

Huge removed their self righting poles on the second hit, so that would have contributed to them getting stuck...but as you say, Huge appeared to be without drive before the final hit.

They put in a few boring fights and missed out some good ones. That double count out looked much cooler than a sympathy match for witch doctor

Would have been a crushing loss if Uppercut would have landed on its side like that and Huge was able to move. Uppercut and Riptide should be a violent, violent fight.

@@Narcan885 Eh, Iunno. With the right matchups HUGE could go to a final for sure. They would've beaten Bite Force in 2018 if ICEWave hadn't done so much damage to them first.

It was movie worthy the moment Huge and Uppercut weapons clashed and sent both flying in the opposite direction.
Yeah that was cartoonish, those bots are so heavy. To fly like that apart is kinda insane. Both bots took a fair bit of damage. Huge is a lot better designed now.

Fantastic fight, but it's still absolutely unacceptable that TOURNAMENT fights are being cut now. Seeding rounds are fine, but if every fight is important to determine who wins than every fight should be aired. If you can't fit 17 fights in 1 night than don't. Do 2 rounds of 1 quarter.
Frankly they could trim a bit of the commentary/intros/fluff and show all the fights once they get to the tournament.
@@butchs.4239 Trim a BIT?? They could trim a LOT. This thursday's show was 83 minutes WITHOUT commercials. If you cut it down to just the fights and nothing else, it's 18 minutes. That's 79% filler time!! And in 65 minutes of filler, they couldn't find 6 minutes to show the 2 fights they cut? Complete BS
It really doesn't make sense. People watch the show *for the fights*, not the filler. The pageantry adds entertainment for some, but why cut an entertaining fight just to squeeze in one more minute of filler?!
again it's now 32 teams and this year was 34 because there were some good 1-2 teams but i think once it get's the round of 16, although there wasn't the science channel last year, which had the fights that didn't air were only given highlights but i think last year discovery showed the full rd of 16 fightd
Yeah i was sad when they didnt have this fight in full on the show, glad to watch it now, but it was a letdown
Such a shame for HUGE. You could see it was doing damage to Uppercut (breaking the side struts caused it to get stuck on it's side), and it managed to give one of the most feared weapons in the tournament a scare.
I do believe it was the correct decision though. Even though Uppercut was beached at the end, HUGE was just completely dead before then.

@@TheTrooperMB no, I watch all of my tv shows now on a website - I don't even use my android box much anymore because the site I go to doesn't have any adds. I think we all got ripped off by the cable and satellite companies for so long that some people launch these sites simply as payback, and so far as I am concerned I paid so much over the years that the industry owes me a lifetime worth of prepaid tv. I still had paid for my netflix for years despite not really needing it because they weren't greedy. Then they got greedy, and I cancelled, and they keep getting worse. The industry does it to themselves.

Looks to me as though if Huge had stayed away at 4:13 it would have won. Uppercut had stopped moving.

Ouch, that second to last hit might have been what took Huge's drive. Though the strut breaking and bending itself under it wouldn't help movement either.
It is sad to Huge go, hope there is better luck next season.

How much more luck could they possibly need? They got matched against 3 consecutive rookies, and 0 horizontal spinners. They basically had the perfect setup for the easiest tournament run, and still managed to lose 2 of the 4 matches.
@@Narcan885 I mean, they weren't bad rookies in fairness. Switchback had one of the few weapons that could hit HUGE's body, Retrograde did have an undercutter (though they nixed it for more armour), and it definitely needed better luck than what happened in the Riptide battle.
If they didn't go for that last hit uppercut coulda got the ko
@@Narcan885 Not getting a single bot that it was designed to counter (a low profile 4wd disk spinner) in the qualifier round, matched up with Uppercut in the tournament then consecutively facing Deep Six in the bounty hunters... Huge couldn't be any less lucky than this.

Dayum, Uppercut one-shotted Huge once it connected to the body. One punch and it was over. Nice job!
I think Huge's body is pretty weak. I remember one fight where it broke in half. It's just high enough that most bots can't reach it.
Imagine if HUGE face Deep Six. Even Jonathan Schultz doesnt want that match. The same as Greg Gibson said that he never want to face Minotaur.

It must have amused whoever made the decision to put Uppercut, a red-themed crew, in the blue corner, and Huge, a blue-themed crew, in the red corner. :-D

Uppercut's driver not living up to his IQ. HUGE stopped moving for nearly 10 seconds, but then he drives his bot into his opponent and gets KO'd.
That was risky cuz you just never know what the judges are going to do, especially since Uppercut was clearly on the worse end of that first hit.
I know! Uppercut has to be a bit more cautious. It’s among my favorites.
Wish they didn't show the outcome for this and Copperhead vs Lucky.
It takes out the shock factor and anticipation.
All Uppercut had to do was not go near him, and he would've had a KO, but he got himself stuck on Huge's corpse instead 😂 not that I'm complaining, I always like to see more, it's just funny
I put that down to the heat of the moment. Plus we've seen examples before where bots have left their opponent alone when they seem dead only for their opponent to come back and win the fight. See End Game vs Bite Force
uppercut's driving is on par with that of yeti in terms of aggression. Showing restraint is not in their dictionary.

@@2jay721 It wasn't that that cost them the match against ribbot. Uppercut had driving issues from the start that match, it wasn't 'just a mistake'.

That’s double knockout number 2 this season.
and the 3rd time it's ever happened as again the reason they talk about deep six owing them money was in the 2019 tournament, the last one before covid-19 was the first double ko, where there weapon got caught in the floor but not before not only destroying one of nellie the ellie-bots eyes but also took out a light fixture when they sent nellie's eye flying as it went into the lights, and oh it's also why deep six also had a diffrent look then 2019, as they learned from that fight that there weapon was a postive and a negative, as it was destructive but also easily caught on the arena flooe

Poor HUGE. It never pass the first round of the tournament. In 2018 it lost (by a struck of miracle) to Bite Force in the first round. In 2019 it lost to Whiplash. In 2020 it lost to Whiplash again. Now it lost to Uppercut.

This match was much better than watching Witch Doctor get a gimme match. Not sure why that was chosen for television instead of this.

Rusty is a gimme fight, Mammoth is a wildcard. You expect them to get eaten alive like they did in this fight but just as often they pull a surprise out of the bag like how they beat Copperhead last season.

It's because they love witch doctor. They also love Huge, but it lost, so they preferred not to show it.
The "fight" starts at 3:45 and lasts for about 15sec.

Huge is one of my all time favorites. love the design.
It is very rare to see both teams counting down at the same time.
It was short but very intense and aggressive match.
At the end Huge couldn't move by a lot of damage. The Uppercut, on the other hand, was damaged, but it seems that the wheels were floating (by rotation) so it couldn't move.
In this case, Uppercut is advantageous for judgment.
I wanted to see Uppercut chop them in half r something. lol
The judges definitely saw something I didn't see.
Huge's wheels had already stopped moving after the hit at 4:11, Uppercut didn't need to re-engage and risk getting hit by the still fully functioning weapon, they did and the subsequent 2 hits are what knocked them out too, lucky for them they won the decision but that was pretty poor decision making.
I noticed that too although some bots do play dead but those hits were so hard
Battlebots strategy: "Let's spend huge money making a world robot fighting tournament, but only show it for US people and a few other countries that don't give a s* for robot fighting."

@@MrWizaed I know this, almost all people that watch this from outside of USA is piracying. The majority of their viewer base is beeing forced to "just torrent it", and that's my point. It is just an example of "how to waste good profit margins in favour of geographic preferences"
Like every TV show, Battlebots sells the international rights to various media companies that have broadcasting rights in whatever country they operate. It's up to them to air them or not. Battlebots can't just force themselves on TV. Blame whatever market you live in for not wanting to show it.
In that first impact I was almost expecting to see both bots thrown out of the arena. Came close.
If I were a judge, I would have asked to go inside and inspect the damage. I think I saw that a belt on Uppercut was loose.
Srsly how did uppercut win
Huge was immobilised first, they stop moving after the hit at 4:10 but uppercut keeps going until getting stuck at 4:20. Uppercut was still technically working and Huge would have been counted out anyway had Uppercut not got their wheel stuck on the spikes. Even if that wasnt taken to account, Uppercut still did enough damage to immobilise Huge meanwhile they only got counted out by getting stuck, not by damage caused by Huge.
Because the judges heavily weight their decision on damage done by the opponent. Huge was sitting still (both engines broken) with a weapon that doesn't spin. Before Uppercut pinned himself to the ground, he was shown to have both wheels and his weapon still working. Easy decision.
This should have been in the episode, it's unexcusable to cut fights from the show to make time for filler

Why was this just a highlighted fight, this would’ve been probably my favorite of the episode.
Also uppercut should change their design a bit so that doesn’t happen.
I think it would of made more sense to have the Scorpios Malice fight as the RUclips bonus as a promotional tease to get people to come to the youtube channel even before the episode aired.
huge knocked the piece of uppercut that prevented that off
uppercut appears to have already tweeked their design to be more self rightable compared to previous seasons, but his wheel got stuck between the floor and 1 side. the way it got stuck could have stopped almost any bot.
@@Tixio_T Perfection in battlebots doesn't exist. That being said uppercut does have a really effective design.
Disadvantages are:
-it has 2 wheels, theoretically easy to break the driving
-high center of mass, when it loses the ground game it can lose the match hard (against hydra)
-big vertical discs can make it harder to turn
-if the sidebars get destroyed uppercut can hardly selfright, if the weapon is also broken it can't.
This is how they 'solve' some problems:
-being relatively wide helps both with the slower turning and again with keeping the exposed wheels away
-having a forward center of mass and a solid front fork makes it hard to exploit the high center of mass.
It's design is really solid at minimising weaknesses, but the very fact that it has weaknesses makes it imperfect.
I don't think I've ever seen a double KO on this show before.

There's Tombstone vs Mammoth in this season.
Mammoth vs Tombstone, Overhaul vs Valkyrie, and Deep 6 vs Nelly the Ellybot are all examples of double knockouts.
There was one where deep six hit the opponent so hard he also knocked himself out.

First I was upset that 2 of my favorite bots had to go head to head in the first round. Second I was mad that the didn't air the fight fully in the broadcast (despite the fact that they summed up the whole thing in highlights). Was it really wise to cut a big fight compared to win to get in fights? I love Faruq's intros and thankfully, though short and sweet, are included here. Faruq for President!!!

They should add weight class numbers and height at the beginning of the match

Handshake Vs Fistbump was just as confusing of a match. Even after a rematch I think that needed to go to the judges.
In years to come we will be astounded watching this video to see large groups of people gathering yet wearing face masks and performing idiot awkward handshakes.

I just don't understand why this fight was skipped during the tv episode. this is the round of 32 you shouldn't be skipping fights.
They did basically show this entire fight on TV minus the fluff, they had clips of the 2 main hits and the end result of them.

What tools are allowed for the robot car weapon?
Everything was technically still working on uppercut, just a poor wheel lock. Huge however was pretty dead.

Uppercut lost the weapon by having its weapon shaft completely dislodged. Not to mention losing all the stabiliser tubes too, which led to its KO. In this fight Uppercut was receiving more damage externally.
@@supertigerman013 Watch the fight again. The hit at about 4:10 in this video killed Huge's drive. Their weapon was still functioning, but so was Uppercut's at that point. If they'd backed off, Huge would have been counted out. If they'd both been incapacitated at the same time you'd be right, but Huge was definitively immobile first.

Huge looks like a middle school science project
I've always been iffy about Team Uppercut. Successful teams work the angles, zone, and learn when to attack and to defend, not just barrel in and cause a big pileup. This one should not have been anywhere _near_ this close. Uppercut may be one of the hardest hitting bots around, but it's not making a serious run for the Nut until the driver learns a little restraint!

There was Deep Six vs Nelly in 2019, when Deep Six killed Nelly and tipped over in the same hit.

as internatinaolly only season 1 and 2 aired on abc, they brought it back, and then discovety comminucations bought the rights to see if there should be a 3rd season and they've aired it since and currently its only avilable on discovery + but since discovery-warener media's new president said once the merger becomes finalized that discovery + will likely become a hub for warner media and i'm wondering if the reason why, because we do know a 2nd season of bountyhunters was filmed also, as one of the top rookies from last season perfect phenoix competed in a bounty hunter torunament and so did double jeporady and it looks like unlike last year that bounty hunters will premire on dissovery althugh the episode could be avialable to stream at 8 am as that's when new content for discovery + becomes available
In previous seasons does that first hit send Uppercut out of the arena? I forgot how tall the walls were before you could only arena out in the corners.
