  • The horn on my 88 Toyota Pickup hasn't worked in a year or so. I recall when it stopped working, it was a slow decline and would only work when the steering wheel was in certain positions.
To problem was a lack of connection between the pin and the plate located directly behind the steering wheel. My solution was to raise the plate up with washers to help the plate make connection with the pin.
I'm not sure why this issue occurred. The pins seems to have a spring mechanism to help it keep contact. I expect the issue to present itself again, but for now the problem is solved.
    Updates to be determined....

I used a 22lr shell, pulled the bullet off and dumped the gunpowder and put the shell back into the 22rifle, fired the primer and ground the 22lr shell down a third of the way and put lithium grease inside and then onto the pin and the contact plate, horn works!
