I am very new to the whole world of paper crafting...and even newer to journal making. I have to confess, I am getting very little of anything else done, as I would prefer to watch you create, lol. Your ideas are amazing and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent.
Oh Gayle thank you so very much! I had family in town and got behind on videos and feel bad I didn't thank you sooner. I feel so blessed to have a friend like you on my design team. You are such an amazing lady, thanks again. Big Hugs, Amy💕😺Love this journal cover!!!
I love watching you "play" and your jokes are an added bonus! You always make me laugh with you. I guess our children never think we are funny until they wake up and discover they are doing the same thing to their own kids! The older we get the more things stay the same and one day the things we use to be embarrassed by our parents doing become treasured memories, and some of them we even take on ourself. Keep on creating and laughing, it is good for the soul and in this day and time it sure is nice to have a channel I know I can always watch and never leave feeling stressed or upset! Thank you again Gayle for just being you!
Your children just don't understand our type of humor❣️ Everyday I look forward to laughing with Gayle!! You're an artist I don't know anybody else who can make mixed media look that beautiful. I love watching you work & hear your stories. It's fun to hang out with you. I would have been so upset if I sprayed ink all over myself but you laughed. I hope to someday have your patience and sense of humor. TY Gayle ❣️💜💛💙💚
Gayle, you let the kids know you have been blessed with a great since of humor. We love that you laugh and share with us. You brighten everyone’s day. I really like the covers. Your creative adventure is so fun to be apart of. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Great work again Gayle, you are so funny, so inspiring. I just love watching and listening to you. You make me laugh and we all need a good laugh to start the day. Thanks. Xx
Hi Gayle! It's so inspiring to watch your process. You don't waste an opportunity to make something from nothing. Aka those tags you dipped into the wet spray paint! Lol Thanks for inviting us to be part of your creative world. Cheers!
I think you’re just great Gayle! I’ve learnt so much from watching you and just love your happy-go-lucky attitude. You’re a real inspiration 💖 thank you so much. Loving the bunny cover 🐇
That was just so much fun Gayle!!! Can’t wait for the next step! You always make me laugh chook!! That’s an Aussie term of endearment by the way, not an insult. 😉 xx
Hi Gayle. You make me laugh all the time. When I am down I will watch one of you videos. I hear you laugh and it brighten my day. Thank you for being you! God Bless and keep you safe.
Thinkin' Inkin'.... gotta love it! Be a great name for a Tatoo Shoppe... lol I love these videos where "Gayle takes two 'ugly' pieces of cardboard, spritzes all kinds of colors in drippy abandon, rips and wads up perfectly good bunny paper, and.....voila! She creates a treasure!"
As soon as you said you going to create a mixed media cover... I knew it would be AMAZING!!! Loving your cover so, so much and I can’t wait to see where you take your creativity!!! I’ve had my mixed media things back out just recently. It’s so, so fun!!! I’ve really missed it. Hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
Loving the covers so far and watching your creative process is such fun. Don't forget to turn your back cover so that the holes are on the right hand side before embellishing Gayle. I watched Gabrielle make a beautiful notebook cover but she couldn't hear me yelling at her that the back cover was upside down lol Hugs Linda
Yes, thank you to all the designers who so tenaciously and generously share their work! Shiny grunge? English garden grunge? Would have thought that was an oxymoron before today!😹 I've done arts and crafts in isolation for quite a while and it is good to stretch my thinking by watching other artists.
I've watched other crafters and although I like them, you're the only one I watch constantly. I love your sense of humour and your giggling, how genuine you are, kind and really enjoy what you do, it's addicting lol
Love you are going outside your comfort zone...I feel the same. For me it’s stretching my creative mind...a very good thing! Thanks for sharing your fears. When I sewed my first signature in I was literally perspiring! Lol! It still makes me a bit nervous. :). Congrats on Blue Fern! Excited to see the new ideas you’ll share! I watch faithfully!
Gayle, you are so inspiring! After 10ish years I dug out my Singer and stitched a (mock up) signature. The seam is nowhere near straight but I did it. Thank you so much for your friendly, upbeat, inspiring videos!!!! Hugs! Liz M.
Loved this video!!! Awesome techniques! The nature/bunny theme is so cool, Gayle! You are soooo talented!!! I am inspired to work with cardboard now!! Something so plain has turned out magnificent! Hahaha.... talking to your JJ cover now, eh? "HOW ARE YOU DOING?" Hahaha! We all do it!! TFS!!!❤
I have been so inspired by this video so I almost ran to my creative job "kooperativet bredvid" and wanted to start a new project with mix media 😀 So a big thank you Gayle ♥ ️ Your color box at the end looks like a bird sitting on a stick.
Wow such spectacular covers! I am going to play with my Heidi Swap spray. Last night I was up very late. I made peeled cardboard covers with acrylic paint and distress ink, then collage. I used my cinch machine instead of going the ring route. By the way, I am glad you don't edit or voice over your videos. Perfect! Thank you Gayle!
Thank you for another inspiring video, my hubby sat & watched with me today, he turned around & said "now I see why you like watching her, she's just like you makes people laugh without realising it, which is a great thing to have"
I absolutely love where this is going! It's going to be gorgeous! And I do understand your since of humor! Guess we are at least entertaining ourselves if no one else!! Had an idea - maybe you could have sprayed some of the colors of color shine in your pallet and painted the chipboard with a brush. Can't wait to see where this goes! Thanks for the fantastic and fun inspiration!
Fun to see you working in mixed media - these are one of a kind, like you mentioned, made out of something you were going to end up throwing in the recycle anyway. Really fun to see your process and tag along while you showed your process and created something amazing out of basically trash!! Love it!!
I absolutely love love love this one. So much fun to watch you create spontaneously and you are funny to listen to also. Puts laughter in our day. God bless you Gayle - our inspiration.
Hi Gayle, I was unsure how it would turn out i was like ooh um ahh everytime you sprayed, and i shouldn't have been it looks awesome so far. When you see 10th grandchild i hope you have the most hugs you can whilst you see him. Hugs to you and all the fam. Xxx
Brilliant video Gayle....I love watching you create...planned and unplanned.....you’ve definitely inspired me to give it a go.....it’s only paper !....x
Your mixed media SELF really came out today & I love it. I think we all go there a little in every project. It just pops out & grungy is always good. 🥰
I hqve some catching up to do with your videos but I keep watching them for sure! It's such a joy to see you work and see your enthousiasm if you like something. Kind regards, Karin
Thank you for these videos. My mother (recently moved from from assisted living to nursing home) is potentially being diagnosed with dementia. I have decided to make a memory book of cards and pictures because she doesn feel my siblings love her. They cards have letters written in them. There are cards from her mom and dad whom have passed away. I have strung how to get them into a book for her with cutting them. This is perfect!!!
You can use a fingernail file to distress the edges. You could dip a small paintbrush into your sprays to paint the delicate chipboard. Ooh, your leaves came out very nice, I like the way the cover came out, I love the grungy sparkle! : )
I am just IN LOVE with this cover(as I usually am with most everything you create)..... I have been toying with the idea of creating a “Woodlands/Nature” style journal and the grungy, almost natural look of this cover has sparked my imagination...I have just purchased an embossing machine( your video last week renewed a need in my heart) and also some oversized tea bags(sparked by a video by “Creative Cafe Girl” on RUclips) and the idea of using this cover idea, plus the bags, some envelopes and your eco dyed papers....plus some other kits I have purchased sounds like an awesome journal idea.....Oooooo... plus I scored some awesome vintage lace yesterday at an antique store in Greenport, NY.... Oh baby.... cannot wait to get started.....thank you for the ideas...you are one of the ones who gets my creative juices flowing❤️❤️❤️
A couple of drops of glycerin will re-activate a stamp pad and keep it moist. It's also a great re-inker for an embossing pad. This is such a fun cover. Great idea!
I was just about to suggest a brush dipped in water when you used it on your bunny. A good thing to do from the start. :-) Love the addition of the turquoise . Those spray bottles can be messy but fun :-) It's been suggested that the mica spray bottles now be stored on their sides. I believe Dyan Reavely from Ranger suggested this.
Hi Gayle love this...thanks for the idea for the spray box! You are an inspiration and I love how you share your knowledge, creativity and promote and give shout-outs to other artists. 💫🍄
I was laughing so hard when you were counting shaking the bottle!!😂😂😂. Never a dull moment watching you! God love ya Gayle!!😂😂😂 its looking very cool and grundgy👍👍

"OLD" stamp pad. LOL! You've made me realise that, perhaps, it's a good idea to write the date on them - still giggling. I can here sea planes so, going for a 3 min walk to the bch., and watch the rest when I get back....it's Whale Watch season for Southern Rights and Anu & Nettie have chosen to use these waters as their nursery this year. Wow! have they ever been putting on a playful display for everyone.

To distress edges you can also use a dollar tree fine cheese grater ( a Betty Crocker one, it is red)!
