HEY! So I noticed I'm still getting a decent amount of traffic on this video and several of are complaining about it not being very instructional but I just want to say this was the FIRST video I ever filmed! I'm only 19 years old and had noooo idea what I was doing! Would guys like an more in-depth talk through tutorial on hair curling? Let me know! And please be sure to come follow me on instagram too! @dacey_cash
Literally have this video saved on a hair styling playlist and I will NEVER remove it!!! I ALWAYS re-watch it before I curl my hair :) This was my intro vid to your channel and I have been a subscriber ever since!! For the record, I thought it was very to the point which is why I love it but I would totally love to see an updated video :D
Dacey Cash hi there. Thanks for posting this video. I have waist length hair and have a hard time getting waves and now I see I need to try a bigger barrel. Can you tell me what size you were using? Was it a 2” iron? Thanks!
Hi Dacey, I'm a hairdresser from Malaysia. I was an assistant 4 years ago. Back then, I was a no body in salon, washing clients' hair, learning haircut, colour and style. This was the first curling hair tutorial I ever watched. I still remember there was only 1.4 M views you had. But today, 9.9 M views. I am so happy for you! Congratulation! Just want to say thank you, because your video really helped me back then. I really learned how to curling hair and my boss impressed when I first time ever curled his client's hair to a beautiful waves. Thank you thank you again. And I really like you say that (I love you all) in the end of the video.
I've spent the last hour doing this, curling the same strands over and over and I've come to the conclusion this is impossible and I'm having a mental breakdown
Kayliann F I’ve been having one for three hours I literally have been getting ready for school tomorrow and worry about how I look and what I’m gonna weae
For those that want to know what curling iron this is, it is the 1-inch Conair Ceramic curling iron. She gets very nice curly that aren’t to small, by pulling out while she is curling her hair, so they aren’t too tight, but still come out looking flawless. For those of you that want big curls like her but a 1-inch curling iron isn’t working then use a 1.5- inch. It should still give you the same effect without you needing to tug as much on your hair, like how she did. I hope you all fine this helpful.
True! I'm using 1 inch barel = 32 mm not really looks good on me. I want beach wavy hair so I will try to buy 1.5 barel. But not the same brand like her. So sad already check no one sell con air in my country so I try to find the perfect one so I think I will buy babyliss 1,5 inch or 38 mm. Correct?
For everyone who doesn't know how to curl their hair, here we go. Take a section and hold the curling iron sideways. Then if you have the clip curling iron open it and place the hair where you want the curl to start. If you want it start at your scalp move the curling iron up. Same for lower. Then close the clip. Then turn the curling iron away from your face. Then open the clip a little and pull down. Then repeat until you reach the end. Then open the clip as much as you can release the hair.
karina lol maybe 15 seconds to 25 seconds depending on how thick your hair is. the thicker the longer you hold it. if you smell it burning TAKE IT OUT, same with smoke, hair burns fast and unevenly so be careful
I am SO jealous of how silky, long and gorgeous your hair is!! It is so simple for you to be able to part and separate their different sections 😭 thank you for the video! ❤
Lujine Shelleh Try getting a keratin treatment or Brazilian blowout. They help decrease fizz and make hair much more manageable. It also helps to use product in your hair after you shower that will hold curl. Mine was unmanageable for years until I started getting the Brazilian blow outs.
You may be setting the heat too high. If you have flat or oily hair I wouldn't recommend oils in your hair but try flexible hairsprays or dry shampoos. Definitely you a shaping heat protectant and leave whatever you're using in for a little bit longer. LET YOUR HAIR/CURLS/WAVES COOL BEFORE BRUSHING OUT OR RUNNING YOUR FINGERS THROUGH. It helps set the style.
This tutorial really helped me! I should have learned to do this long ago (I'm 33), but got accustomed to putting my hair up all the time or just straightening it. I'm very simple. Thank you for posting this video on youtube. I love that you didn't use any product either. The less steps for me, the better. Thanks again!
I did this to my hair today and it looked amazing! This is a great tutorial and I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn to curl their hair
I loooove your hair and the fact that you don’t use any product is amazing. Keep up with the good job... don’t mind the trolls and negative Nancy peps. I admire you for not bouncing back with the same attitude as they and actually want to be better. Remember to expand your horizons and better yourself from your core...and not off others insecurities. For a 19 years old you have a beautiful mindset and will succeed well with your drive and compassion. You will kill it with kindness and shine because of it. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors. ~K🙏💜
I've been watching you ever since your car vlogs!! When you were 40,000 subbies, I think. Anyways, Your channel has transformed tremendously! so happy for you girlie
same here.. I also used like she used but then my hair will not curl that's why her hair is good.. I don't know with mine its just that it will not curl😞
Here are some hair tips: use hair products and hair tools for letting the curls stay. That's what I did when I was younger and the curls would stay for few hours or longer. "It is best to do that, every other day. If the scalp is dry, don't hair spray close to the roots" (Lauren Conrad 'beauty' book). I love natural hair now. Been not coloring it or style it like before. I would air dry it mostly. It goes with the flow. It's mostly straight. When, it was long, it would be wavy, curl in or flip out, on its own. "For thick hair, wash it every two or three days. Fine hair, every other day" (Magazine online source). To keep it clean that is. My friend hair secret is: "If you want to keep the natural oil in your hair, some wash it only two times a week." Or, "not at all and it will get used to clean itself" (From a girl that I read based one her experience from magazine online source). "Use the conditioner only on the bottom part of the hair, neck down, away from the scalp. From a dime size to quarter size, depends on the length of the hair" (Magazine online source). "Don't style your hair using i.e. curling iron or straightening iron to the highest heat" (My brother advice who is a hairdresser). Some have their hair fall out because of high heat like Mariah Carey. "For dry scalp, on the lowest heat" (Lauren Conrad 'Beauty' book). Hope that helps! That's what I just learned on my own and from what I read. These tips, will help not to damage hair. It is best not to do anything to it, actually. Unless, you want it for special occasions like dates or dances. But, guys prefer girls naturally rather than all dolled up. It's nice to do that once in awhile, speaking from own experience as a girl. Just for myself, not because impressing others :).
Mine gets stuck too (yes, I'm "pushing the lever down"). I think it may be that I'm wrapping the hair too tightly around the wand. I'm going to try wrapping it more loosely next time and see if that helps it slide better.
My mom has been curling hair with the flat iron for years hope this video helps even though there's no talking or tutorial sometimes watching someone doing it helps you learn ruclips.net/video/FXTOSbF4ZBM/видео.html
Dacey darling, I can't thank you enough for teaching me how to curl hair with a curling iron. I've been trying to figure it out from ages and this video is on point. I only regret why didn't I watch this video before. I love you 💖!
Thank you thank you thank you! I have NEVER figured out how to properly use my clip curling iron until now. I just tried this on my own hair and it worked!!! I have super straight, fine hair so I have a hard time curling it. This video helped so much!
I used your curling technique & I'm so happy with the way it turned out! My hair has a lot more bounce & the curls actually stay til the end of the day, with minimal hairspray ☺️ and I also used a different curling iron. Thanks so much for showing how you curl your hair 💕
This is the only tutorial that taught me how to curl my hair beautifully! Been using her technique since she posted this video... Im just jealous of her thick hair/strands. 😅
Dacey Cash hy! how are you? Your hairs is so beautiful and soft plz tell me what products you are used dear plz plz plz I shall be really thankful yiu😢
She's using at 1.5"barell. I got the Conair Infiniti Pro Tourmaline Ceramic with 1.5" barrell and it's the best curling iron ever! Better than any Bed Head or Hot Tool curling iron I've ever used and at a better price!
my sections always mix together so then my hair looks uneven and bad. your hair is SO easy to maneuver and separate lol. i can never get the sectioning perfect :(
LopsidedCircle Hey! I know this is late, but what helps me to keep the sections separate, is to tie the curled ones in a LOOSE pony tail! I could never curl my hair because I had the same problem and it does wonders!:)
+Kirby Gunter omg I'm so gonna try this next time I attempt to curl my hair! I've had that same problem. It would always become such a mess and it drove me insane!
This is your first video I've seen and I totally got hooked to follow you on your beauty routine. You're so gorgeous dacey! :) it's nice to see your transformation from this video up to now. Love it!
I have straight hair but love curls. After I shower I apply volumizing products to blow dry and then curl! If needed, apply hair spray for an even longer wear!
Who else clicked on the video cuz she was pretty. I was crying the whole time cuz I have shoulder length thin hair and I wouldn't even have enough to do that
holley holm you should watch videos on short hair curling. but if you watch the fosters I think shoulder length hair looks really good how Cali does it if you don't look it up its kinda layered. or short crimped hair is pretty too.
My hair also don't stay so you should apply hair mousse on the hair first and then when you curl it you wait for the to cool on your palm and then keep them tie with a pin and then apply hair spray on them and when all your curls are done keep them tied for like half an hour and when you open them again apply hair spray on them this way you're hair will stay curld for a long time I have experienced it and it works cause I have very straight sillky hair
OMFG SAME !!!!!!! There's this boy that remembered me when we used to go to swim classes together when I was like 6 and I'm like "Wtf dude, I don't even know you"
Just a tip. If your hair is shorter than like at the top of your chest, this may not look as good. In my experience, w shoulder length down to top of my chest length hair, it looks terrible for me ;( the key to the look is that the ends are curled out and most of the top half is straightish then the ends are waved out and that doesn't really work w medium or short hair
I love how you do your hair but you don't explain the actual process of the curling at all, I wanted an explanation of what to do with the curling iron.
My hair is super thick and just doesn't like to be sectioned so I always have problems curling my hair from bottom to top. Instead I start at the top sections of my hair, curl them, pin them up to cool like that with either a butterfly clip or some large bobby pins and then continue curling like that down. It's a little less work; I don't have to keep taking sections down and then sectioning that and clipping it back up. After I curl and pin everything, I do my makeup or whatever and take the pins out, usually 20-30 minutes after. It keeps the curls really bouncy and curled throughout the day, with or without hairspray.
ROnie ROblox you have to use the right barrel size for your hair. Thinner hair requires a skinnier barrel, ect. Also helps to hold the curl for 10-15 seconds after you let it go. For dry hair instead of shampoo/conditioner, you can use a cleansing conditioner instead. Hope this helps 💓
didn't really work for me, but then I've never successfully curled my hair with a curling iron. the curl was gone right. literally, right after untwisting, except Adobe of the ends. I've got fine hair, it's wavy and straight. so want this look. my husband would love it...
I remember my first time watching your video & at first I couldn't do it but kept practing & practing til I got the hang of it. Thanks so much! This is still my favorite hair video 😍
Do your arms get tired or no because you do this so often? My hair is so thick and heavy, I can't put that much hair in the iron because half of it won't curl ! I did learn to keep the front ends shorter, gets rid of some of the heaviness I usually experience when curling hair, thanks!
FiveFootZero thanks! I have long thick hair. Almost like hers I'm assuming. I just knew it wasn't a 1 inch it's too big to be that. 1 and 1/4 maybe. :)
I have the same one it looks like the one i have atleast and the same brand. Prob late af but what ever. Mine was conair ceramic professional 1.5 inch curling iron.

hi.. i'm from Malaysia too. :)
I’ve literally just straightened my hair with a curling iron but ok
Miney 04 , it’s all about the flick of wrist.
Maybe use an instyler. It’s much easier.
Don't pull too hard, and another trick: let the curl fall from the iron into your hand and let it cool for a moment.
Lmao🤣🤣🤣🤣
HAHAHAHAH
Miney 04 literally same, like I try to curl it but then it just turns straight in an hour😂😂😂
I've spent the last hour doing this, curling the same strands over and over and I've come to the conclusion this is impossible and I'm having a mental breakdown
Me
Spray a light mist of hairspray right before you curl it, hon. It works for me when I need my curls to last longer. Practice makes permanent!! 😘

+Helen Skyee Same thing happened to me also sigh
+Helen Skyee its because you use the curling iron wrong 😂
Kayloni Ket no I didn't lol I did it exactly like the girl in the video
+Helen Skyee You're probably clipping it the opposite way of the direction you're turning the barrel
Its easy to watch but when I try this for sure it will be a disaster! 😂
jisoo kim I burned myself when I tried just now
jisoo kim i cant use curling irons ig makes me so mad i can only use straighteners
Really 😂😂
No your wrong
I tried curling my hair with a straighter it worked
Her hair is so perfect though! I have thick fluffy hair that is pretty much impossible to curl😭
Same
Maybe straighten it and then curl it?? But it could damage your hair so maybe only do this for special occasion
same here.. I also used like she used but then my hair will not curl that's why her hair is good.. I don't know with mine its just that it will not curl😞

how do you move your curling iron down when you already have hair "on it". Mine gets stuck
KimSarah you push the lever thing down
😂😂😂😂😂
me too
Mine gets stuck too (yes, I'm "pushing the lever down"). I think it may be that I'm wrapping the hair too tightly around the wand. I'm going to try wrapping it more loosely next time and see if that helps it slide better.

Same I tried it and I just used a smaller barrell. It actually turned out the same.
holley holm you should watch videos on short hair curling. but if you watch the fosters I think shoulder length hair looks really good how Cali does it if you don't look it up its kinda layered. or short crimped hair is pretty too.
You should use MONAT! and grow your hair out longer thicker and healthier! I swear it helps. lET ME KNOW IF YOURE INTERESTED!!
holley holm I have shoulder length hair and the hair style worked perfectly for me sooo...
Get extensions like me it was the only solution
I wish my hair could look like yours!! Looveee it
“I told you, super easy, can’t mess it up”
*laughs in incompetent* 😬😭😭
Any tips on how to make the curls last longer? I curled my hair and it stayed in for like 10 minutes....
My hair also don't stay so you should apply hair mousse on the hair first and then when you curl it you wait for the to cool on your palm and then keep them tie with a pin and then apply hair spray on them and when all your curls are done keep them tied for like half an hour and when you open them again apply hair spray on them this way you're hair will stay curld for a long time I have experienced it and it works cause I have very straight sillky hair
next year i go to highschool ! im sure gonna use this hairstyle EVERY DAY! 😲😚😍
Good luck in highschool!!!☺️👍🏼
You say that now lmao 😂😂
+Queensofprep870 haha yeah you right😂😂I've been in high school for three years now and I just don't have time for that😅
OMFG SAME !!!!!!! There's this boy that remembered me when we used to go to swim classes together when I was like 6 and I'm like "Wtf dude, I don't even know you"
Uh huh. I said the same thing. But nope. ponytail all day every day.
Your hair is about the same length as mine! I'm so glad you're showing longer hair tutorials I'm always stuck on what to do with it
Just a tip. If your hair is shorter than like at the top of your chest, this may not look as good. In my experience, w shoulder length down to top of my chest length hair, it looks terrible for me ;( the key to the look is that the ends are curled out and most of the top half is straightish then the ends are waved out and that doesn't really work w medium or short hair
i have a question, how long do you leave your hair on the curling iron? i couldn't tell since the video was sped up.
yes, an updated version of this same style would be great
She reminds me of that one girl from Jane the virgin, Janes best friend
Katie G sameee lol
Omg she does
OMFG yes
lina
omg she looks like linaaaa
3:04 Seriously favorite part of the video. 🤣
you explained everything BUT how you curled your hair
transgirltalks exactly
you can literally see how she does it in the video..
Are you blind?
She is just curling her hair away from her face.
transgirltalks
I love how you do your hair but you don't explain the actual process of the curling at all, I wanted an explanation of what to do with the curling iron.
exactly im horrible at using a curling iron
Did I ask?
+Katrina Jackson I struggle with a curling iron - I wouldn't've minded an in depth explanation
you shouldve read a book then.
Jessalie Padilla yea because that's super easy in a tiny town of 500 people when you are broke
your hair is so pretty 🥺
My hair is super thick and just doesn't like to be sectioned so I always have problems curling my hair from bottom to top. Instead I start at the top sections of my hair, curl them, pin them up to cool like that with either a butterfly clip or some large bobby pins and then continue curling like that down. It's a little less work; I don't have to keep taking sections down and then sectioning that and clipping it back up. After I curl and pin everything, I do my makeup or whatever and take the pins out, usually 20-30 minutes after. It keeps the curls really bouncy and curled throughout the day, with or without hairspray.
Jessica Angela
what temperature do you usually set it to when curling? beautiful hair btw
Your hair is naturally cooperative...your very fortunate!
I wish I had the same type of hair as you! Mine is always dry and could never stay curly 😫
@@csmith1536 I am loving this community's watching out for each other and letting each other know how it's done. ✨❤✨
Ella Smith same its soo sweet
I really like your hair colour!😍 And you look so pretty!! 😘😘
BTW thanks for the video and I subscribed ya! 😊
I love how natural you are😍
didn't really work for me, but then I've never successfully curled my hair with a curling iron. the curl was gone right. literally, right after untwisting, except Adobe of the ends.
I've got fine hair, it's wavy and straight. so want this look. my husband would love it...
That's what happens to me
+Gratitude Ranchng try using a styling cream before curling your hair
Hold the curl after it's done in the curling iron before you let it fall. That should make it last longer x
I can't curl my hair with a curler either. I use my hair straighter, it works really well!!!
also try styling second day hair...i findthat works best
anyone else watching this video with short, thin hair and admiring her gorgeous hair....:(

She's so beautiful omg 💗
this is so hair goals
Do your arms get tired or no because you do this so often? My hair is so thick and heavy, I can't put that much hair in the iron because half of it won't curl !
I did learn to keep the front ends shorter, gets rid of some of the heaviness I usually experience when curling hair, thanks!
I believe the curling iron is called babyliss pro.. available on amazon , for the people that wanted to know! 😁
please tell me about ur hair colour loved it
how do you not get creases form the curling iron clamp ? help mee pleaseeee btw gawgus :)
SHE MAKES IT LOOK SO EASY WHILE I PRACTICE ON THE SAME STRAND OVER AND OVER AGAIN
What size barrel is the one you're using?!!
It looks like 1 1/2 inch
Thank you... I think so to or 1 and 1 forth
+Naomi Almanza you should def buy the curling iron based on your own length, but if yours is similar to hers, it looks like she is using a 1 or a 1.5
FiveFootZero thanks!
