I get these sounds when I play after taking lots of cold medicine. Its good to know there is a pedal I can use and not have to rely on cold medicine as much. Thanks for posting!
The way this thing works is much like a modular synth patch - albeit one more akin to a home-built Paia or Serge schematic more than to any Buchla or Moog: 2 BBD delay lines, each pitch-modulated and feedback-modulated to varying absurd degrees by a quadrature LFO (iirc the quadrature is essential for thru-zero FM to be possible) And so this simulates - and in this case, also rips your speakers a new one - how real flanging works with two tape machines: Both tape machines run a copy of the same song/edit simultaneously. One machine is being sped or (mostly) slowed down by hand on the 'flange of the tape reel' in real time, the other is played normally. The sound of both are mixed together through a console and the sum/output is recorded by a third tape machine [designated the 'master'].
OMG thanks! It’s been 14 years since this pedal grabbed my attention and until now I didn’t find any good explanation/description of it. Now I’ll try to find through zero flange setting examples.
Your videos are always excellently presented, well explained, honest and interesting. I've never head of this pedal, thanks for posting, it sounds really lovely. Cheers!
Hi, I don't have a link I'm sorry to say. The guy I bought the pedal from supplied the template sheets. Sorry I can't help. Glad you liked the video! G
nice demo. mine just decided to stop working, and i don't have enough for a new one... i might want to recycle the BBDs, but i'd also rather like to try and fix it :( very versatile and unique, very fun to tweak.
had one, worked with an engineer for like an hour and couldnt get a good flanger sound out of it, all we got was some weird sounds & chorus tones, traded it for a boss slicer
At a certain moment after introducing the Big Muff ElecticMistress and an odd other effect pedal EH must have hired some creative electronic genious. Within a few years EH came with the most creative sounding effect pedals...and quality pedals I must say. Very interesting company.
I would pay maybe $120 USD for this, it's too weird for the price, but definitely an interesting pedal. You would have to have a regular flanger for more "useable" sounds I imagine.
just bought one....computer vids dont really do it justice... ITS AMAZING for bass players! be careful because it WILL blow your speakers at the wacky settings!
In other videos, I have heard this pedal make all of the typical flange and chorus sounds that people are claiming this thing can't make because they don't know how to dial in the controls. Seems like if you're wanting to make some weird stuff, this would be a good pedal to get. If you're really only interested in classic flange tones, you're probably better off with something else.

ahahaha
Godbless you mate, hope all is well after 7 years. Cheers

Find a local tech to fix it! They are too good to trash for parts. It's likely something simple.
@@blondegraemey aaaaagh!!! you're right! i'll miss it too much. thanks for the reality check, lol cheers
cool tunes, i just brought one of these for £80, I cant wait to gt my hands on it!

One I don't have, looks like fun. Will keep my eye out.

how do you know it will blow a speaker? just from the frequencies the flanger hits?
like your intro song
this pedal is amazing fun, specially after a distortion or fuzz pedal
Sounds very hawkwind to me :)
nice reference
I like to use mine to create very subtle changes not the bonkers possibilities. I mean, use it to ‘varnish’ other pedals.
that's sick but in a Good way
could you post you notes to give us a starting point as you've
done a lot of work on this one
nice one
please what's the name of the intro song? thaNKS!
I could only imagine plugging this into a Fender Rhodes and turning it into a glorified synthesizer.
Too crazy machine... Can it sounds like normal flangers?

nice
Looks good, obviously very well engineered, but musically sounds pretty crap to me.
Good quality crap sounds though :0)
All depends on his settings and mic placing .. ..
Sick!!!
sounds like yoko ono at the end ;)
It's honestly not that difficult to use right out of the box, if you understand the basic principles and terminology of what's on the pedal.
i wish the modulator waveform was triangle. this sound is too "jerky"
I have one, have toyed a lot with it, and the answer is no.
had one, couldnt het a flanger sound with it, traded it for a boss slicer
A little too extreem sounds to my ears
Mostly orrible. Mistress is the one you need.
Good old Blondegraemey
I was commenting on the pedal. You are commenting about me. You are therefore, a troll.
