- we walked through an abandoned farmstead in the middle of Kansas never seen so many case combines Case tractors and other tractors in my life in one place goes on for acres and acres and acres
One thing I have notice by being a subscriber to your channel. You will trip over a mint condition Oliver,MM,AC, Ford, and Farmall to get to a broken down Case! 🤣
Wow!
It's a shame people collect all that stuff and just let it rot away in the open.
Wow, sorting through that lot will keep you busy fir a while ! I’ve been lucky enough to have first pick of an old farm only twice in my life. As much fun as it was, it was also quite stressful both times due to tight timeframes and even tighter budget 👍
Something is usually broken and it's parked to be a parts source later. Maybe planting or harvest is underway and no time to mess with it or the parts are more than the machine is worth; you can replace the combine motor for $500 or buy a whole working combine at auction for $500 and just drive in the field and start picking. Then time gets away and all of a sudden a lot of iron sits out in the woods.
I’m sure in a case like this, the owner of the equipment has rotted away before the equipment did.
It used to be common practice for many farmers to park all their equipment along a fence row and other areas around the farm and some would be used for a week in the spring and then it gets parked in the fence row till next spring again and the same with the combines and such in the fall the farmer would typically start pulling equipment out a month early and getting discs etc freed up again from sitting under snow all winter then they would prep the fields and park it again but then the farmer unfortunately passes away and there possibly were no heirs to the farm and they end up in this condition, but many of these did evidently die prior to the farmer the state some are in. It’s hard to see this much equipment rotting away tho no matter the reason
Those people want to collect them and they were using them when I got old and quit working they put it out in the field like my family did and got something new and worked it to death that guy won't collecting that stuff
That's a ton of work with all those trees in the way.
Love these property walk arounds with vintage farm equipments and tractors scattered around. It's like a treasure hunt. Crazy Dave, are you responsible for clearing the property or are you just buying the salvageable tractors? Wish I lived closer to you guys, I would definitely love to help save history! Thanks Dave for your efforts. Look forward to continuation of this video. 🇺🇲🚜👍
Dave, check those Case combines for engines that you can use for parts for the tractor collection.
Those fanning mills can be useful cleaned up. The Clipper company is still around making lab sized seed separators. They can be valuable for the Urban Farmers.
We had a Case combine like those when I was a kid, resurrected from a stuck motor auction sale unit (must have been cheap for my father to bring it home).
Curious about the history of these abandoned farmsteads. This looked like quite an operation at one time and then all activity stopped in the 1980s-ish.
You will get over looking like your dad when you are comfy with your pants up.
What was the garden tractor in the garage?
Lot of really neat Case equipment in there. I imagine those old case combines are hard to come by anymore. It's going to take you 2 weeks with a couple chainsaw just to get stuff out of there.
Would absolutely love to walk through that place!
I bet that was a great homestead at one point in its life
Man you are the only guy in the world who could walk into a field and find a Case SC . Show more of it and talk about it.
Loved the walk through. Awesome finds wish I could find a clean up like that and to save the machinery and parts.
Well, obviously, the owners of the farmstead got old and couldn't take care of it anymore. Shame, really had a lot of storage sheds at one time, unusual that they all are fallen in, you'd think a few would have survived intact. I well know the issue with wearing a belt to overcome gravity! Now you know why Dad wears suspenders. I've resorted to traditional bib overalls for myself. Getting old isn't for whimps! There must have been a good Case dealer near by to get that much of one brand. Theres enough there to set up a vintage Case dealer display! Those old pickup trucks are getting good demand anymore, especially if you can find the titles. With the cost of a new computerized one, a lot of us oldersters are resurecting the older easy to work on ones from our youth. The 1370 is interesting to me, those were the big boy on the block when I was starting out. Don't see many today. Looking forward to the next installment.
They pulled
Would of been nice to see the old 460.
Well NO winter vacation this year for you guy's.And what you found is 100%🇺🇸 made you have a long mining time here ⛏️💰
How long has the place been abandoned? Looks like about 1970. But a couple tractors are later than that. Wired to me how that can happen. It must have been a big place back in the day. My dad had a SC case first tractor I drove.
I wish places like this could be found around me, (western Canada) but we don’t have enough time in the year without snow to cleanup a place like that in my lifetime...
When you poked the camera into that old grain bin I could smell it!
looks like my uncles farm. he would just keep buying. some thing would break he would go buy a replacement. when he passed his kids would NOT listen to no one and called in a scraper. one of his kids was surprised when he went to a consignment auction 8 months later and saw a lot of equipment there. and he was surprised at what some of the prices were. i said we tried to tell you but you and your brother and sisters are just like your dad wont listen to any one
I was going to say that one word suspenders
What a waste me had 730 gas I like 2 find a good 930 disel can anyone help me out
Used to be farms like this all over Ohio and Indiana, they're all gone now. I used to love to go picking on them. Found lots of cool old tractors that way. That COE Ford is interesting. Too bad it's not worth enough to haul it to Indiana.
I grew up in Ohio and my grandfathers farm was in LaRue Ohio but your correct about Ohio and Indiana being full of these types of farms and I used to go to a different farm auction every Saturday in the 70s & early 80s that were slap full of equipment like this but sadly those days now are gone and all sales are now online only unfortunately.
Larue! Home of the Marion County Dragway. I used to take my 69 Camaro there on run what you brung night, never really did much good though it was fun. Is it still there? Seems like there was a cool roadhouse out that way too. The Star? Hell, I don't know, a long time ago. Family farm was out near Leonardsburg, north and east of Delaware. Good to hear from you. Regards.
How could all that stuff just be left like that just crazy
Death of owner. Happens every day
Back in its hay day that farm was probably a very nice, very large operation. Sad to see it all wasted away like that
Dave I'm 23 I wear suspenders I love them the ladies love them it makes you look more stylish trust me on this one
Are you interested in selling the combine engines? Looking for the 202 gas version
I liked this, amazing what gets left behind! In Europe so much stuff gets exported
Ps the cabover Ford, I believe John Ross from watch JR go, a Wichita youtuber is looking for a straight frame for his cabover
Dad had a 600 Case, most reliable combine we ever owned. Only downside was it only had a two row head.
My dad had at least two that I can remember. He custom combined back in the ‘60s and made a crap ton of money with those machines. I still have his ledger and some pictures. This walkthrough is making me very nostalgic.
That place is Heaven on Earth!
It’s crazy how eager people are to scrap stuff all that farm equipment has a home. That is a very old farm the fields are being farmed .
You need to get with Silas on these farm cleanups.
I got somebody 500 times better
What a gold mine
Always amazes me how so many old farmers had so many old broken equipment laying around. Why not fix the it vs go buy something new.
Dave, you and Joe need to invest in a drone so you can aerially survey those kind of properties. Save you from having to stomp through the weeds and brush risking rattlesnakes and falling. A broke leg out there might be the last of you. The paramedics might figure it would be easier to put you down than try to get you out.
Ouch! thats brutal.
@@frankwurth5375 I am a good sized fellow, and have a prosthetic leg. Nothing more embarrassing than to fall and not be able to get up on your own. Last week the seat tore out of my lawn chair and I wound up with my butt on the ground and my knees under my chin. If it wasn't for two neighbor ladies seeing me there like a turtle on top of a fence post I would have had the firemen deciding my fate.
Dave your lost your walking in circles.i think we seen same combine like four times
Where do you begin with clean up
Geez, Am wondering if u have any idea how much it will cost to clean that property? What a mess.
enjoyed the tour. why so many propane powered machines ?
I wonder if that was a white 1370 or a desert sunset
Did ya save the 1800?
Dang talk about wasteful
Such a shame they live it up for a while
only in north america
I would love to find a place like that around us in MN to just look around and explore.
Dave as a former owner of the later Case Combines . i can see why they went out of business, very hard to work on and small capacity. interesting to see just the same
For their time I would say they were efficient.
Took my dad and grandpa a good half day just to switch headers on those old Case combines. We kept a lot of wood blocks around just for that. 🙂
Don't send any of them case tractors to scrap before u give me a shot.
treasure trove of goodies
What do you want for the LA case
Would take 800 bucks for it if you're interested shoot me an email crazyDequipment@gmail
@@CrazyDEquipment That's a lot of money for a locked up motor
Let's see here's the problem with this as of these things have to sell more than scrap value or I can't save them they have to go to scrap that's how it's worked out so that's why the tractor would be 800 bucks I know it kind of sucks
@@CrazyDEquipment I think I would use it for parts buddy I'm just African couple parts Hand breakIs park and break will And the water pump
I want that 460!
Where are these tractors and machinery located at
Wear a pair of Bibs if you are going out in the field.
people just leave that like that?
I would love yo have one of those case combines that would make a good winter project
Well I'd like to find them homes before they get scrapped
@@CrazyDEquipment what kind price would one be
@@CrazyDEquipment Dave, I have a Good Case 630 gas tractor, triple range transmission, been a good little tractor for me for last 6-7 years and it comes with 6’ tiller. Didn’t know if you would be interested since your a case freak also, lol but issue is getting it to you. I’m in central NC. The tractor runs great and operates great. I’ve used it the last 6-7 years on my little produce farm but the farm has been sold and I’m downsizing and going RV life before I get too old and broken to enjoy it. Seems everyone in this area either wants a John Deere or a Ford tractor and if it’s not one of those two, then they won’t even look at it. I absolutely love my Case and hate to see her go but she won’t fit in my RV, lol. She’s ready to work but could use a paint job sometime, the paint is faded but other than that she’s ready to continue working.
Let me know if you would have any interest. Take care Dave, be safe out there!!
Did you save any combines?
Have a case 1060 combine
Hey Dave, What kind of garden tractor was in the shed that you mentioned?
I never went in the garage and checked it out like I wanted to
@@CrazyDEquipment Considering what those sheds looked like, I really don’t blame you. Besides, I need another garden tractor like another hole in my head. I have two garden tractors that I need to get back up and running before winter weather sets in.
Glad to see you are still going. Seen a few car wizard videos where he mentions you guys but haven't seen any from you for a while. Good luck.
Suspenders
Would like to get a closer look at that D19 ou'd you get a chance. Specifically around the fuel tank and it's mount.
Looking for an eagle hitch arm set any help much appreciated 🤠,
that hesston baler at the 7 min mark that thing is rare the first one they ever made they called it the groundhog baler it just rolled the bale across the ground and when you tie the bale you have to drive out of the windrow and let the string wrap while you make a circle.
With a hole in the block it means the crankshaft and connecting rod had a disagreement and they parted company.
it looks like the case dealer got all the farmers money !
No farm in the uk like that in love to walk around one the old farmer was a good case man
WHY WOULD SOME ONE DO THIS TO ANTIQUE EQUIPMENT?
What a shame. That stuff been there long while
Suspenders is the only way to go.
What part of Kansas are you in?
Do u ever find old D7 dozers
Or the 560 propane
I like the 1370 !
Ran a 600 Case as a teenager. Thought it a big deal at the time. They look like a toy now!
I have a 630 now and I love the ole girl! She does a fantastic job for me every time I crank her up!
Enjoyed video
I live in SW Kentucky and I can't even find a carburator for my 1951 John Deere A, everyone that had that stuff has died, so if anyone knows where to find one I would sure appreciate it!
Crazy D, I don't know how to contact you any other way (I don't do social media) anyway I have a Case 411 that I want to put an Eagle Hitch (Rockshaft House and all). Do you or do you know anyone I can turn to? I am kind of close to Chicago
I know a guy out in Wisconsin around Green Bay that might have that stuff let me see if he has it and if he does I'll let you know
@@CrazyDEquipment thank you You can tell him I am "JoeyPorkChops"
Nice video... thanks for sharing 👍
You don’t need an old Cub Cadet Big Ten garden tractor/mower do ya Steve? I’ve sold my farm and I’m trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff that I’m not able to take with me and something said that you like the old Cadets, lol, do just thought I’d throw it out there and ask.
Take care Steve
Hey Don, I would love to add more old cubs to my collection but my shed is full.. I greatly appreciate the offer.. take care. Steve
some one save the case combines👍👍
Dave, just cut a path through the brush. bulldoze it into a pile bring in a crane and a dump trailer load it all up and send it to the scrap yard. If you could have got to it 15 years ago you would have been able to save most of it. But now, you would work all winter just trying to clean it all up. it's so big it ought to qualify for a federal " Super Fund" cleanup site. You might be able to take all of those Case combines and make 1 or 2 good ones but what amazes me is how people out there will get up and literally walk off the plains.
The only piece of Case equipment we had was a square baler (probably late 50s or early 60s model) and it sat in a cow pasture where it belonged. It was cut up for scrap metal in 1988.
Buy overalls.
