Thanks for the great video! M susii are classified as CR (a critically endangered species) by the IUCN (one step away from extinct in the wild). Its sister species, M klasioensis, is CR as well although many believe the Klasio Creek rainbow is now extinct in the wild due to the creek drying up. That classification, however, has not been made official. If you have both species, it's imperative to keep them separate as you won't be able to tell the females apart easily.

An official reassessment of its habitat and classification has not been done since 2020 and at that time it's habitat was severely diminished. It can be found in aquariums, but in nature many believe it might now be gone. Hopefully that isn't the case! Eventually someone may go check to see if the creek is still there and with klasio, fingers crossed. I have both susii and klasio and i love their color and pattern displays!
