I have barely heard of this band but props to the singer and his unique singing and phrasing style. He kind😂 of sits back in the pocket like a drummer with his vocal inflection and timing. Almost sounding late and behind….but actually perfectly in time
Interesting... they've added a count in to the start! They must have had a few screwups, or near misses where one of them misses the first click and comes in late! Bad news, given how much stuff they've got tied to the tempo of the song!
DowserGratt I'd imagine a fully controlled show like this assists any additional overdubs for live albums/DVDs/crowd participation which muse do alot of. Still food for thought for your average musician with such accomplished musicians running such a tight ship.
As someone who uses click tracks a lot, I can say that at this point it's standard procedure to add a count in. Anything to reduce chances of screwup is welcome in a situation as high pressure as a Muse gig.
Hmmmm Ive been using IEM and I can confirm that this is not how it is lol. A pro set of in ear earphones and a good mix can sometimes sound better than the stage sound without them

They've added a count to all their songs live now. Maybe it's more easy for them, it's really a big help that's for sure :)

90% of IEM tracks for a touring band will include a count-in. That's just how it's done.
welp, my band uses a countdown as well

Wow.. that sounds like 💩.
Awful mix. But who am I to judge
it's made to sound good on one particular custom made IEM
Yeah it won’t sound good like this. It’s intercepted with an RF receiver. Still a cool insight though.
