    I’ve used both of these and Ure seal h2o is a lot better in my opinion.

    Thank you for a very informative video. Quick question: do I really need to strip existing sealer from pavers before re sealing with Ure seal h2o? We ve lived here 4 years and pavers have never been sealed by us. I had a paver guy who quoted me for stripping too.

    Do you find you need to add the nonslip grip to the wet look or is it pretty good on its own?

    It gets up to 118 degrees here in summer, sun destroys all clear coats i'm aware of in just a couple of years. How' the Ure-Seal hold up with that much sun ???

      Here in Florida, we see it last 5-7 years. Usually closer to 5 years in the direct sun. Where as an area with moderate shade or screen enclosures we will see closer to the 7 year mark.

    How does this product stack up against Covertec Strongseal or surfacelogix cobbleloc? Both have high solid content. Finally, if a higher solid content is what makes the difference, couldn't you just use less water? Do you service Palm Beach county?

    My pavers never looked wet with that sheen look. I told my paver guy it looked matte from day 1 and he said "...impossible, it's super wet look!" He sent me your other video with the botched paver job in defense of why he only uses seal n lock. I assume he never seen this video. Thank you for this. I just sent it to him and I'm eager to see what he has to say. Btw, exactly which one are you using? Looks like they have 3 types. Sorry for the novel.

    Ive been thinking about sealing our patio, however I wanted to know does this become a life long process of sealing? Will you always have a film on the surface of the pavers or does it disappear? If I decide to not do it again I dont want to get stuck sealing it every few years.

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182
      @dura-guardpaversealing2182  5 лет назад +5

      We aren't talking about putting armorall on your dash board.
      You HAVE TO seal your pavers. And you HAVE to stay up on it. Or your pavers base will wash out, leaving you with loose, wobbly pavers.
      If there is a film on your pavers, you didnt do it right. It should be a clear, penetrating sealant. They sell topical sealers, that leave a film over top, which are junk. And will damage your surface.
      We use UreSeal h2o on all jobs. We are the largest company in the world that does paver sealing (if that tells you anything about the quality of the product us professionals go to)

      I've used The Deco products. Both their silicast & their clear concrete sealer. DECO 20. I was definitely not impressed.
      The DECO 20 that they claim should last 5 to 10 years stopped working on the few concrete driveways I used it on after around 8 months.
      The Sila cast ended up trapping moisture below and turned a little bit yellow. Thankfully it only lasted about a year-and-a-half before it completely wore off.
      I just wasn't impressed with their line of products here in the State of Florida.
      In Florida we have very harsh UV exposure from the Sun that really does take its toll on these different types of Coatings. Other states I hear those products work much better however Florida's climate is unique not just because of the UV exposure but because of the ground moisture content that we have. Lots of factors to consider when working with brick pavers in this state

      This is comparing the 2 companies 'wet look' finishes.
      Both companies make a matte finish as well. However, 85% of our customers request wet look, and the remaining 15% request high gloss. Out of 3,200+ jobs we do each year, we may have 4 or 5 requests for the natural/matte finish.

    I don't live in Florida but Indiana. I had a contractor do a bad job on my paver sealer and joint filler. It needs to be redone. I think he used a cheap poly sealer and poly sand. What product do you recommend to strip old sealer and redo everything?

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182

      Unfortunately, i havent found a commercially made product that is very effective for stripping. We were forced to hire a chemist to come up with our own stripper.
      Unfortunately - its a proprietary product and we do not manufacture it for sale.

    how does this compare with the nanotechnology sealers?

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182
      @dura-guardpaversealing2182  7 лет назад

      Marina Sulik
      we primarially use nano technology sealants with concrete. they can work on pavers, however to stabilize the joint sand in pavers, as well if you want color enhancement or a shine/gloss, those options aren't available yet as these sealants are still very new to the industry.
      we use a product called SplashProof, the original nano sealant for hardscapes. primarially on concrete surfaces - however upon request we will use them on pavers if the home owner asks.

      Thank you so much, very helpful! Also the h2o lasts longer than the seal n lock? And is it very slippery when wet?

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182
      @dura-guardpaversealing2182  7 лет назад

      Marina Sulik
      adding a sealer to any surface will reduce the coefficient of friction - which is why my company includes a polymer non-slip additive on our 3ed coat on every job we do.
      it minimizes the risk of a slip and fall. all of our commercial clients and community pool decks appreciate that extra step.

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182
      @dura-guardpaversealing2182  7 лет назад

      Marina Sulik
      in my experiences - absolutely. Ure-Seal lasts between 5-7 years where as Seal n Lock is now only lasting contractors 6-12 months.
      many contractors are dropping seal n lock from their 'tool belt' all together and strictly using Ure-Seal H2o

    • @dura-guardpaversealing2182
      @dura-guardpaversealing2182  7 лет назад +4

      don't mind the thumbs down - those are from contractors that use the cheaper seal n lock product on their customers homes. appears they're trying to make any effort possible to discredit my honest review. there is just no argument when there is the side by side comparison.
      the owner of Seal n Lock, Richard colletti, threatenrled me to take this video down. even had an attorney send me a cease and desist order and barrage of emails.
      after consulting with my attorney - I am well within my legal rights as a consumer of this product - with $380,000 in seal n lock receipts over the years to back up my strength as a consumer of this product giving my honest review.
      I would be happy to discuss any questions anyone may have for me.
      :-)
