while Shmee150 is sucking on the teets of ferrari buying all the new garbage models, James is incessantly celebrating the actual enthusiast classics. Bravo James!
Love when you’re honest and give so much information/opinion that no other car RUclipsrs think it’s relevant. Like comparing the smell between the normal 458 and the Speciale. Keep it up, James. Love the fresh delivery. Also, delicious camera work. That car deserves a wallpaper.
I hate that i was busy in high school instead of buying the original 458 when it launched, the f430 was the car that got me into cars but the 458 was the one that cemented my love for ferrari
Thanks for all these Hong Kong videos. As a local I really enjoy them. Richard had already sold his 458 Speciale and is now primarily collecting JDMs. Still a very impressive collection.
@@MrJWW you always make the correct choice, would love to see you just return to some of your original cars and give your thoughts now as was it the right choice to do, with the benefit of hindsight of course
I've been lucky to go to hongkong a few time, experienced myself the car culture there and met some amazing petrolheads. I remember the video of your first time there, and it bring so many memories. This country is so special and seeing you enjouying the cars there is amazing ! Absolutely thinking of going there again soon !!
I have a 458 Speciale and I have to agree with James. The sound of the V8 engine right behind you is epic and as the revs climb, when you see the lights start to illuminate on the steering wheel, it adds to the visceral experience. However I also agree that my GT3 RS is better on the track. The RS has better brakes and a better PDK transmission. Both are special cars however and put a big grin on your face, just one without a helmet and one with a helmet.
Absolutely thrilled with a speciale video from James. Great information on the ownership experience, and what one could expect from the platform. Another great representation of the experience with the car, thanks for continued great content!!!
I do hope that your trip was a good one. I agree that the 458 Speciale is one of the finest pieces of art to have been made. Thank you for showing us some of the Maco and Hong Kong area that last shot of the skyline was perfect James/Yorky LOL
Your comment about the performance of modern cars is spot on. To extract it you have to be on a track. Lot's to be said for the 458 or F12 for exactly that reason.
I absolutely love this video! Featuring the „underated“ cars SV overshadowed by the SVJ, 675 by the 765 and the speciale. In my opinion the best V8 Ferrari ever made what a video.
Another great video thanks for taking us to places i would never see and the cars are great as well you do this in a way that you just love driving the cars and giving me the chance to come along with you thanks again 😊
3:19 I was watching old top gear the other day and when Jeremy was reviewing the 599, he did the hold the pedal while braking to down shift automatically.
As a Corvette fan boy it was interesting to hear the C8 development engineers say that they wanted to replicate the Ferrari 458 but not surprising, because as you said you can give the 458 a bit of a thrashing without either scaring yourself or going to jail. Have you seen Ryan Tuerck has a 458 engine in a Corolla drift car and hearing at or near the limiter all the time is epic. He also has a V10 Judd in a Supra, World Time Attack car.
What can I say. Superb video. I will never forget that 675LT video. All I will say is that if you haven’t seen it then go and find it it’s Stella. I would have the speciale the 675LT and then the Aventador S, controversial about the Aventador S maybe but the spider version is absolutely stunning.
Mr JWW Absolutely Incredible Video I think it's awesome that you got to Drive that Absolutely incredible 458 Speciale and 675LT Spider and I think that Aventador SV is Absolutely Gorgeous
@MrJWW thank you for sharing with us your experiences in 458 speciales. I have a few experiences in 430 scuderia, both on track and on the road. Is the speciale as raw as the scud? It appears to be more refined and luxurious and less track focused and less ‘rough around the edges,’ so to say
Omg. These guys have some of the all time great supercars. The 675LT & the other track-special, raw driver's cars like the 458s, Aston GT8, Gallardo Super Trofeo/Superlegerra, Aventador SV/SVJ & Senna. It could only be better with the likes of a 997.2 GT3/GT2rs.. 992 GT3rs, Huracan Performante/STO or Murci LP640/SV, CGT, P1 & Zonda F.👏👌
You're spot on Mr.Dub, what a beautiful car. And I couldn't agree more. Ferrari's 4.5L 8 cylinder is an artistic masterpiece. In my opinion, the only modern Ferrari that's more gorgeous is possibly the 296 GTB 🤷♂️.... weird how Ferrari's mid level vehicles are in my opinion:LEAGUES more beautiful than their flagship models???? It's interesting.
nowhere near the same refinement, heritage, and chassis precision. Also the pairing between gearbox and motor at ferrari is second to none, bar maybe Porsche's pdk
The Z06 is almost 400kg heavier than the Ferrari. There is no comparison between a track Ferrari and a corvette. Completely different Fokus in both cars
I want one of these very much, in Giallo Modena with the NART color stripes. I'd have to sell my house to get it though and I don't think the spouse is keen on living in a tiny car.
The panel bonding used in the rear wheel housings would melt if it got really hot causing heat sheilds to move and sometimes catch fire. The panel bonding was replaced with mechanical fixings.
Man I miss the F12 and 458 Speciale content!
two best Ferraris ever
458 Speciale is one of the greatest Ferraris ever built. How anyone would buy the new stuff over this doesn't get it imo.
100% I've driven LaFerrari, 456, 488, F12, and 599... none of them come even close to Speciale in terms of a fun driving experience.
Agreed, Shmee has never owned a 458, says a lot. Difference between a car buyer and a car guy.
while Shmee150 is sucking on the teets of ferrari buying all the new garbage models, James is incessantly celebrating the actual enthusiast classics. Bravo James!
Not a Shmee fan at all 😂, them new models suck!
4 real
I am a fan of shmee normally but buying all the boring production Ferraris doesn't make sense unless he has to to get something special from Ferrari
Great comment
Amen brotha, amen 👍🏻

This one was pretty informative, appreciate it!
James this is a bot
I’m lucky enough to have a 458 spider - I also chuckle like James does in this video when changing gear and listening to that sweet engine note.
Speciale is a competely different animal
@@Dtp2296 I look forward to seeing your first hand knowledge and video review of yours.

6:10 “Initial D AE86”, and a few other cool cars. HK’s car scene is amazing!

I remember that beautiful dark red one you had one of my favourite cars on your channel/journey
I wish I could have kept it! But it was the right move at the time 🤷🏻♂️

@10:47 that is stunning … nice car .. beautiful sunset with a 747 behind…
I still remember your original Speciale, the grey exterior and yellow hints on the interior! What a car that was, that was one of my favourite specs!

The 458 platform is such beautiful. 😊
I remember the first time I saw a red 458 driving through East London. The first time I ever stopped and unashamedly stared at a car. Just the best ❤

The Speciale is the modern day F40. It’s the most tingling ferrari I have ever had. Just love it
Mr JWW and DDE all the way for me 👊
Loved the vid. Learned loads. The 458 is my favourite Ferrari.
3:19 I was watching old top gear the other day and when Jeremy was reviewing the 599, he did the hold the pedal while braking to down shift automatically.
What a video and what a trio of cars. The speciale is truly something amazing
458 Speciale is up there as one of the all time greats. Just pure driving and noise heaven
amazing cinematography, keep it up
I was 12 when I saw you got the grey Speciale. I remember freaking out when you got the red one, please get another gosh dang it!
It’s written in the stars! 😅

It never ceases to amaze me the depth of your technical knowledge James!😎So interesting 👍🏻
So the guy has the peak of each brand! Awesome trio!
Mr JWW and 458 speciale is a love story I’ve always loved to watch the last decade
Its really hard to choose between the two... I'll take both of them so we don't argue! lol Awesome video!!!
The spec on that 458 is just something else! Holy moly.

Had my Spesh for 2 years and never knew about holding onto the paddle whilst braking, need to go out and try this right now 👍
Love this car... And the 488 Pista. ❤
I need a top gear style spin off series with Mr. JWW, DDE, and Niko.
Mr JWW Absolutely Incredible Video I think it's awesome that you got to Drive that Absolutely incredible 458 Speciale and 675LT Spider and I think that Aventador SV is Absolutely Gorgeous
It’s a blade to drive. Pure drivers car.
my lord that 458 is just PERFECT
Awesome collection 💯🔥

Last of the great Ferraris, instantly legendary ❤❤❤
Classic example of a beautiful car 🤙✌️
Awesome video 👍
The Speciale and the TDF are two of the best Ferraris ever made along the lines of the F50 and F40
The spec reminds me of your 1st speciale.
This was a solid vid, keep up the good work.
I’m out here watching a sunny Hong Kong in Arizona after it rained so hard it’s like we switched places
That 458 is a great spec.

It’s not my most watched but its one of my most quoted when I meet people 😅
The C8 Z06 Corvette provides what this car provides, and then some! NA FPC V8 sound and performance, namely.
nowhere near the same refinement, heritage, and chassis precision. Also the pairing between gearbox and motor at ferrari is second to none, bar maybe Porsche's pdk
The Z06 is almost 400kg heavier than the Ferrari. There is no comparison between a track Ferrari and a corvette. Completely different Fokus in both cars
@@AAALEXANDERSON Everyone knows Ferrari lies about weights. And the Z06 as a fact has way faster lap times.
does the Corvette have a hydraulic steering rack or electric steering rack? If it has a hydraulic steering rack then yes it's a win-win
No one cares about your mass produced car.
Classic. LFA next
Beautiful Hong Kong..!!! I will be there in 2 weeks 😊🎉😊
You had a great spec speciale
did anyone saw the 86 6:09
I just wrote this same comment lol
They completely caught me off guard 😮
I don’t know if anybody remembers but the 488 Speciale dark gray one that he had was a great spec
The last time I was in Hong Kong & Macau, there wasn't a Bridge. We took a hydrofoil boat.
You absolutely cannot beat the Speciale / F12 "grails".
McLaren (and the regulations)made Ferrari going for turbos, the difference in acceleration was insane, but give me the 458 everyday.
Hong Kong represent 🤘
Novitec Decat speciale = the most fun you can have with your clothes on 💨
Highly recommend to anyone with a speciale, it transforms the car.
Will never forget your first reaction driving the 675LT hearing this cracks and wanting to sell the house to buy it
I want one of these very much, in Giallo Modena with the NART color stripes. I'd have to sell my house to get it though and I don't think the spouse is keen on living in a tiny car.
Love
I miss your Red TDF!
Looks like we have loved machines more than the planet❤❤🎉🎉
I have the original 458, with some modifications. I will only part with it when I die.
Ferrari Number one!
anyone else spot the two ae86 driving by? 6:08
Does the ZR1 actually compare?
Can’t wait til Mat gets his hands on this
Now need to go to Tokyo and do a Tokyo Drift too fast too furious remake!
I knew pretty quickly that this was HK😊
Fun fact, the new C9 Corvette used this as it's benchmark. It hit the mark (except it's not a Ferrari 😂).
I would like to know, how was the error of the early 458 cars catching fire on the road solved?
The panel bonding used in the rear wheel housings would melt if it got really hot causing heat sheilds to move and sometimes catch fire. The panel bonding was replaced with mechanical fixings.
67 is famous car youtuber in Hong Kong
Great car. Ferrari nailed it. The sweet spot. Plus the interior is also so superior to awful interior Ferrari uses now
Living the life
If you’ve got money buy one because in the next 5 yrs values will fly up…a spec A will be a limbo quid within 3 yrs I’d out money on it
WOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW😢😊 HONG KONG IS GORGOUS
I really want one
9:17 you need to find back Richard XRX his collection has changed a lot now 😂
3rd times the charm 🎉😂
My wedding car, 10 years ago this month. Shame it got written off😢
1:10 I actually throught it was a senna...😂😂
Have you thought to ever do Petrolheadonism Underground in Wembley?
James, your silver Speciale remains the best spec'd 458 I’ve ever seen. At this point, I’ve almost forgiven you for letting it go… 😂
😂
