    Great video! I just installed these risers earlier today and it really does make a huge difference in the riding position for a short guy like myself - it went from feeling like a poorly setup cafe bike to a proper standard. It just feels "right" now. Now I just need to do something about that awful front brake.

    Nice video Stuart, those handlebar risers certainly blend in very well with the existing Triumph brackets and fittings. I must say the bobber is not quite my cup of tea. I did go for a test ride on a T120 a few weeks ago and I just could not warm to the bike at all. This was very disappointing as I had already been onto the Triumph website and decided on all the options that I wanted to be fitted (Vance & Hines pipes etc...) I eventually ended up buying a Honda Goldwing which to be fair is a bit of a beast but I really enjoy riding it. First journey was from my home near Nottingham to Eastbourne, the bike ran like clockwork, although she is a bit thirsty on the fuel.

    Cracking video my friend! I just installed these on my '22 Bobber Gold Line after watching your video. I was able to gather all the tools at the ready and had the torque specs in mind thanks to you. Really appreciate the detail and the good lighting. Going on a ride later tonight but I can already tell I'm going to like them 🙂 Also BTW, I used "copper grease" on the riser and clinch bolts, and blue Loctite (medium strength) on the cable keeper bolts.

    • @MoxyDave
      @MoxyDave Год назад +2

      I put ~80 miles on her today and I can say the Motone risers offer a HUGE improvement. I can now sit firmly in the "pocket" of the seat. Beforehand I was riding it with my nads all squished up against the tank like a dirtbike. That was the only way it felt like I was in control. I'm 5'10, about 190 lbs, pretty normal build so it was kind of confusing. It's still the least comfortable bike I've ever owned (mostly due to the miniscule suspension travel) but it's far more bearable now. 100% required Bobber upgrade IMO.

      Yeah I just removed the metal sleeves but with 38 nm of torque the risers started cutting into the rubber inserts. Oh well.

    Hi Stuart, I notice that you didn’t put the original triumph stamped top clamp back on, I assume that’s because it doesn’t fit the base riser brackets?

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  5 лет назад

      good question! the originals apparently are set at an angle so when you fit the motone items the top clamp doesnt line up or at least thats how it was explained to me.

    I'm 6ft. Am I wrong to think that my back will thank me for installing these on my T120 on my long journey to Ireland and back? (I'm riding from Geneva, Switzerland.)

    Stuart, I added these risers to my Bobber a year ago but just noticed that my handlebars can be pushed up and down slightly with a little bit of force. Everything is really nice and tight and Bobber came back from service today and I asked the technician to check it out. But they still move a bit. Is that normal...? I’ll call them tomorrow, but they’ll probably just point to them being aftermarket...

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  4 года назад +2

      yes they are rubber mounted!

      Appreciate your question.
      I just got my from the dealership and I noticed a little give. I can budge them a little. A little lame in my opinion.
      I’ve gotten several Motone times and they have a lot of style, but it’s definitely aftermarket. The finish, fit, etc isn’t what you’d expect from the name and price. Not to mention all the videos and social media stuff out there. Regardless, much more comfortable with the risers. Just wish it was like a stick fit.
