I am Gujarati. Mostly we cook this dish, it is one of my favorite dishes, the way you cooked its winter special advanced Sukhadi. However, on normal days, in the kitchen of local Gujaratis, they cook it only with wheat flour, jaggery, desi ghee, and dry fruits. These ingredients also give the best mouth-watering taste.
Yes I am also Gujarati and normally we also don't add anything except kaju badam. In winter we add some udad daal flour and roast it seperately in ghee
This is most traditional style of our Gujarati winter recipes. Gud papadi is most healthy food. Being dietician I strongly recommend to all mothers that instead of cake and biscuits,each day if kids eat one piece of gud papdi is far healthy than other garbage things.Gud papadi becomes more healthy if Ghee is homemade. I just had one piece of Gol Papdi few minutes back and your this video came. Your method involves Edible Gum , Magajtari seeds & white teel. This version can be added only during Winter months or else it's very simple receipe. Usual Gol Papdi which I had since childhood is slightly coarse, and it doesn't look as coarser as shown in the video. Gol Papdi is simple hardly 10 minutes receipe. It's highly nutritious and filling ( 2 pieces are enough to satisfy your evening time hunger ). I always prefer it the whole year round , instead of any packed food. Keep the good work going :)

I like your style of making gur papri because as few ingredients like til and coconut I don’t add . Looks yummy and sure the taste will be different from what I make . I do remember getting Sukhdi as prasad in Mahudi Tirth [Mahudi Temple, Gujarat] when I was studying in Gandhinagar. It was ultra-delicious and soul satisfying. Nostalgic feeling.
