Thanks for posting this, very informative. But just one question, why the budgeted total cost is not the sum of the budgeted non labour and budgeted labour costings?
Is not that necessary to convert the number to text on your Budgeted Units column? What I knew was that primavera only accepts text format from imported spreadsheet. Why does the primavera still accept and read the data, even though the Budgeted Unit column was on a number format?
Thank you sir. I watched your and been helpful. but I have an issue. why is it that when I entered the labour budget unit of 10,000 for an activity but showing 80,000 for budgeted Labour cost??? I was expecting if I entered 10,000. also 10,000 should be in the budgeted labour cost for that activities. thanks
Thanks for posting this, very informative. Can you please explain how to import the "Resource Names" because the exported excel file has an Asterix (*) in the Resource Name field and is therefore "Un-editable" and ignored by P6 during import.
Salam, this vdo was super helpful. Although I am having a small issue. Iv got 5 boq items against 1 activity. So when i prepared the data sheet I have assigned the same activity id to all the 5 boq items for reference purpose. But when i import them in p6. P6 picks up only one boq item remaining 4 items are missing. I have sent u an email, if you dont mind having a look plz. Thanks.
W Salam, P6 will consider first activity as resource. If you have 5 BOQ items are related to same resource then add the units otherwise if these 5 items are related to different resource then assign the different resource id to the same activity and it should work.
It helped a lot, thanks. Superb work.

You're welcome
Budgeted Total cost is same as Budget Non labor Units or Budgeted labor units if you assigned the rates against the labor.
Hello thanks for this video. It's very resourceful.

Resources can be added in XER file through Notepad or Text format.
