My buddy in Japan told me Sakevi is doing all these licensing/reissues to pay for his divorce settlement after he beat his wife. That's not very punk to me. Between SHI having a well-known right-wing extremist (Shura/Shla), Sakevi, and the Baron controversy, I think Mr. Jacobson must find it funny to profit off these types.
@@stevereyes6985 1) Punk is dead. Punk died in the 80s. 2) the money doesn't matter worth a shit, the politics don't matter worth a shit. Jacobson started Relapse in 91 reissuing Ella Fittzgerald albums to pay his way through college, and that's what this label's been about from day 1, is exposing music fans to lesser known releases. So good on Matt for reissuing this stuff for people to hear. The only bands who ever made Relapse any money in the first place are Dillinger and Mastodon. It's not about the money. If that were the case, Relapse wouldn't sign shit like Pig Destroyer, Vidna Obama, HALO, or Neurosis. It's about the art and the music.
Hanatrash and Boredoms are completely different. G.I.S.M. gets a decent amount of recognition in New England interestingly enough as do other similar Japanese Bands likely because it's similar in some ways to 80s Boston Hardcore especially Gang Green and Siege respectively.
It's obviously got a little more NWOBHM and EUPM influence than Thrash Metal compared to its US Contemporaries (bands like Black Flag or Agnostic Front etc not contemporary bands).
@J. Nāgarāja apparently Sakevi remastered the album himself for this release so just have to wait until the vinyl hits our turntables to hear how it sounds
Did Randy double-track his guitar parts on "Good As it Is"? No way one guitar sounds that melodic. Kinda like how Bones double-tracked his guitar on the "HNSNSN" album to make it sound meatier and chunkier.
Glad this is getting a real reissue. Now all we need is to do one for SoniCRIME TheRapy.
Its been planned since detestation. They are going in order of release dates
One of the best both Metal and Hardcore Bands to ever exist.
R.i.p Sakevi, today i Practice Skateboard listening ,G.i.s.m 🎧💣💥🛹💀
RIP SAKEVI YOKOYAMA & RANDY UCHIDA 😔
横山SAKEVIさんお疲れ様でした RANDYさんと会えますね ゆっくり休んでください お悔やみ申し上げます
Love G.I.S.M. since early 80s, love the mystery about them, but they had better moments
Based Relapse. Based Matt Jacobson. G.I.S.M. deserves way more recognition. Same with Hanahtarash and The Boredoms.

@@stevereyes6985 Another entry to the endless list of rumours about Sakevi

This music moments where I live the gallop and it comes in with the pissed off sound instead of Bruce Dickinson and I go ...yeah I like that !
RIP SAKEVI, rest in power
Gism-gig would be so nice to feel!
I'm here because I remembered the Melody from the opening Riff on meaning corrupted 2 and thought it would sound amazing redone in the style of Chopin
Very good
Es tan bueno que te hace llorar
love
I thought it was some Maiden offshoot at the start but it pops up from time to time afterwards
It's obviously got a little more NWOBHM and EUPM influence than Thrash Metal compared to its US Contemporaries (bands like Black Flag or Agnostic Front etc not contemporary bands).
Drums sound like they were recorded outside a warehouse from across the street.
Can't be worse than Lars. LOL!
Legendario
I hope the vinyl sounds better than all digital versions ive heard as the recording runs a bit thin/flat for my ears

This doesnt sound right at all.
Where is the bass guitar on this entire album? Would be nice to hear some.
rip
