The purpose of business is to "Serve the needs of people"
He actually says at 4:48 "The purpose of business is to serve the needs of society" which is larger than "people". That statement would include animals and everything important to us as humans - trees, houses, relationships etc. Thank you so much for highlighting this snippet happy fregene. Time management, serve the needs of the people and be engaged stood out for me.I am always checking my phone even when there is nothing much because of the "alerts" syndrome. I am very hyper-vigilant, anxious and nervous. I am not sure if it shows but I am easily startled. Finding time to relax my excitatory spirit is becoming obvious because my brain feels tired. I end up procrastinating and not managing my time as well as I should. I pride myself on efficiency, results and effectiveness. I also think I am somewhat disengaged from society yet I enjoy serving the society. Spirituality is very important to me as it brings more meaning to even the simplest of tasks, people and aspects of life. I will continue to incorporate it not just in business but in my personal life and relationships as well. It gives me a sense of purpose, insight and direction that has kept me strong and alive since birth. Thanks Deepak Chopra. Evan, keep it up!

Thank goodness the world has a Deepak Chopra. Had to write down his following two statements I loved them so much: "Live the questions," and "We created an economy which was based on spending money that people had not earned to buy things they did not need to impress people they did not like." How blessed I feel I was never affected by this behavior.
A truly humble and wise person is Deepak Chupra. .I am learning a lot from him. I kept listening to him to absorb each and every statements. I love the awareness of business concepts to serve the people and include the consumers and eco system as the stake holders ; not just see people as wealth generating but include their needs. He is so cool with the way he articulates and delivers his speech. I heard of him before but never paid heed until I listened to this audio. Thank you for uploading .💙❤

I like the last advice, creativity. We compete because we like to measure our similar athletic or mental skill against one another. We also compete because most of us have jobs. In jobs, you are doing a task that your co-worker can do just as well as you can. But we want recognition so we compete. Our purpose in this life is to share our creativity. As Deepak said, know your heroes in religion, history and mythology because these are archetypes trying to find expression through your existence. If we do this, we don't compete, we contribute. And we also gain recognition and appreciation for our contributions which is the real reward in life.

Here is the transcript from 6:20 -8:33 5. Master Time Management - "The question that was asked was, how do we maximize the use of our time? Here's my answer and I learned this from Dr. Daniel Siegel of UCLA, psychotherapist. He says, divide them - time in 24 hours into the following sections, so sleep time, meditation time, exercise time, relationship time, down time, creative and play time, focused work time, and when you eat. And when you're doing each of these things then just do those things. Don't do anything else. I thought that was very brilliant and I've been doing this now for a number of years: I sleep at least 6-8 hrs. a day, I meditate early in the morning for about 1 1/2 hrs, I go to the gym after that, I walk between 5-10 miles a day, I work from about 9 o'clock to 12:00 noon, and I take a full hour for a mindful lunch. I take 20 minute work after lunch, then I start working again in the afternoon around, you know,` 1 o'clock or so. 1:30. Then, I do a short meditation at 4:30 in the evening, 5 o'clock and then I have an early supper about 6 and I'm in bed by about 10. Now, when I'm doing this daily routine, I feel that my rhythms are in order that connected to the rhythms of the cosmos. And when I'm speaking to someone I'm present with them. I don't check my iphone or my handheld device at the same time because the cortical brain can only do one thing at a time. So, of course the autonomic system can do many things at a time. Hi! Thanks for sharing this. I have been following Deepak Chopra for a while now but haven't seen this succinct list before. I am doing his 21 days of meditation and it has changed my life and is helping me to find my purpose. My favorite is when he talks about creating one's own reality. My would be about branding a business in #2.
Why? Well his ideas on creating reality and the world we live in, our impact and the way that meditation changes life have become integral to my own. There's a reason I have Chopra Well saved. There's a reason I listen and take notes on paper when I hear him speak. As there is a reason that I saw your post today.
Most people have no idea how great of an impact we can have in our own lives. No idea. We aren't our biology. We aren't our genetics. We are able to change our whole lives due to neuroplasticity. Due to this, it's never too late to start again. I'm a 30 something college student that loves tutoring. Thank you once more and namaste 🙏🌻
