Thank you Randy for sharing so much information in your videos. So many hunting shows entertain you but don't educate you very much. You're an Intellectually Generous person and I appreciate that.
Randy and your team has created a hunting show I can finally follow. It’s not filled with just the kill shot buy who know who. It is what real public land hunters are like. Enjoying the time with family and friends sometimes be successful and sometimes not. Good weather bad weather, mistakes. But most important having a great time. Keep up the great work.
Randy you are the man. Thanks for representing the common man! You are 100 percent spot on about antelope hunting. It is the best fun and the only hunt that qualifies as a vacation (R&R) in my book. Thanks for not getting hung up by measuring your ego by the yardage the animal died at or you shot it at. What really makes a hunter is his fieldcraft. Of which you sir are a master of. Cheers!
Thanks Randy for reminding me how much fun an antelope hunt can be. It's been 30 years since my last Wyoming hunt and my son was only 14 at the time. Seemed easy then but we need to try this again maybe 2018.
I was drawn for an antelope hunt in New Mexico Unit 32 this coming October. I harvested my first cow elk this past season and am very excited for this antelope.
Good luck. I hope you were assigned a good ranch. My son and I drew Unit 31 ten years ago and we were assigned a marginal ranch. Took the only two bucks we saw.
Aweosme hunt randy! Your hunting abilities and the commentary that goes along with every video is what brings viewers back, I always get the feeling that when you post a new video it’s going to be exciting! you share so much knowledge along with your love for the lands and the animals... it’s a dream of mine to hopefully one day hunt antelope! keep them coming and good luck!
Thank you for sharing all of this information, Randy. I have had an obsession with researching pronghorn this last year and have watched hours upon hours of your videos and podcasts. I am going to buy my first preference point in Wyoming this year and hope to hunt it in 2020 or 2021. I will continue to use your videos for research. Thanks again!
Like always, Great video Randy., thank you for taking us along. I will try the Heart this season, since I have an Antelope 1st Rifle season tag. - ColoradoHunter719
I got a nice buck way east of Rapid City back in the mid eighties. I hunted it just like you did except I didn't have a camera man for company. I got a ride back to town by an old Sioux Indian and his grandson and gave them a hind quarter for their trouble. I used a Ruger M77 in 257 Roberts.
The intro here is who you are eh Randy, I believe you! Born hunter and live the life! Great stuff and very interesting. Must say you and your fellow hunters (crew) bring it home, thanks for letting us see it in all its glory. One question, of all the meat you bring out which do you like the best? Nice shot on the antelope, lots of movement in that hunt wha?.......cheers....... I'm.starving now after that fry pan showed up!
i got my first pronghorn last week. also happens to be my first big game. it was opening day muzzleloader in colorado and the first place me and my bud came across happened to have a buck and doe. it was opening day about 8am. we hoped out, he had a pronghorn decoy i followed low behind him, we walked up to them closing about 800yards. we got withing 90 yards, i sat next to him, elbow on knee. she was a little pacy so my bud made that grunt noise, she stopped broad side and i shot. she went maybe 30 yards and stumbled down. it took a couple hours to process what happened lol it was real fast
Hey Randy, What spotting scope from Leupold would you recommend for Rocky Mountains? Would the Kenai be too much scope or would the Ventana do decently well?
I have a new Santium 80mm that I am using this season. I normally used the 60mm Gold Ring, the best combination of size, weight, and glass quality I know of in a spotter.
@@Fresh_Tracks Nice, so far I've only had deer and elk and I love elk. This is next on the list along side oryx. Gotta love that hard earned organic meat.
So nice. Good video Randy (and crew)! Hoping things come around in MT because my area, (as many others) are shut down for the fires. Here's to hoping I can share a heart with my kids this Oct.!

Randy! 00:48! Your pronghorn helmet. I’m crying. Where does a guy even find one of those bad boys? I love your videos bud.

Randy I really like what I see in your videos. I drew an antelope tag this year and can hardly wait to get back out West and hunt.
Good to hear. Thanks for watching. Good luck with your antelope hunt.
My home .. New Mexico... congratulations Randy!
Your home is a great place for hunting. Thanks for watching.

Good luck on that hunt. Hope you get some heart to eat.

That is a cool place. I need to hunt there someday. Thanks for watching.
Awesome Randy counting Oregon 25 years later I've finally drew a antelope tag I'm in shock
Good luck.
Thank you, Randy, Love your videos--very well-done!
Thanks. Glad you find them worth the time to watch.

Thanks. I prefer antelope the most, followed by elk. Heart is one of my favorite pieces, usually eaten in camp. Thanks for watching.
Great, as always.

Congrats. You will have some great food from that hunt.
Great vid .
What were the temperatures like...looked like wind was pretty calm. fun hunt!
In the daytime it was getting into the low 70s. Hotter than I like it.
awesome hunt.
Great stuff it's always s good day when you upload another video I have a 1 year old boy so I'm hunting by curiously through you ha ha keep it up
Thanks. We try to upload a new vid every day.
Well great job my son is growing up watching you as well thanks for all the helpful tips
Cool vid Randy
Do you know if the ranch assignments apply to the youth hunts?
Hey Randy,
What spotting scope from Leupold would you recommend for Rocky Mountains? Would the Kenai be too much scope or would the Ventana do decently well?
In fact, what scope have you used for Fresh Tracks?
I have a new Santium 80mm that I am using this season. I normally used the 60mm Gold Ring, the best combination of size, weight, and glass quality I know of in a spotter.
Great shot. How's the meat? I heard it's not as good as elk meat
I prefer it over elk and deer. I've never had a bad pronghorn and I've eaten a lot of them.
@@Fresh_Tracks Nice, so far I've only had deer and elk and I love elk. This is next on the list along side oryx. Gotta love that hard earned organic meat.
About to head out and scout for white tail on public land that surrounds a lake. Any tips?
Christopher Davis , be good to your mother .
There's no secret recipe or magic trick to hunting deer. You have to get out and put in the work scouting and hunting if you want to be successful.
So nice. Good video Randy (and crew)! Hoping things come around in MT because my area, (as many others) are shut down for the fires. Here's to hoping I can share a heart with my kids this Oct.!
Yes, I hope you can share the same. Supposed to snow in our mountains on Friday. Hope the entire state gets a dose of it. Thanks for watching.
How far was that shot
theres just something special about antelope hunting in that country you dont quite get in montana or wyoming, maybe its just me..
Agree. A different tone to the landscape.
Can you come pronghorn hunting in South Dakota
I probably won't, given the late date of the SD draw being held by the time we have all our tags drawn and our hunts scheduled.
Randy Newberg, Hunter thanks for the reply!
You dont only have to get assigned a ranch you can hunt private and state land
Probably already been asked, but what is that spotting scope make/ model you glass with?
Leupold Gold Ring 80mm - 20-60X.
Hunting antelope in Wyoming is better...lol...I'm in Cheyenne if you ever draw
Oh, I love your Wyoming antelope hunting, for sure. Just need to draw another Wyoming tag. Good luck this season.
