Pete is such an amazing guy, he answers questions HIMSELF when he can, he is selfless with what he knows and what he shares and he seems so approachable, humble and down to earth. Besides be a MONSTEROUS guitar player!!!!!!!!!
HOLY SCHNEYKIES ! 'Bout $20k +/- in guitars, $8k +/- in amps , and GGooDD GAWD ! $4k +/- pedal rig!!?? Dude deserves every piece of gear. What a cool, discipline, feeling full, & articulate player. Thanks for the cool videos and music P.T. !
Apparently, 2 people are jealous of Pete’s setup and chops...like, seriously, if you dislike this video, you’re just being a troll. Such an interesting video! Keep rocking, Pete!
PT is Mr. NO BS. 0% doucebaggery. 0% cork sniffin'. 0% ego. 0% hostility. Just a 100% good-guy and pro with skills that are the real deal, who has a genuine love for his craft and gear!
Quite possibly one of the very best rig rundown-type vids I have yet seen. Then again, coming from Pete, I'm not surprised at all. Massively informative, meticulously detailed and he gave us a taste of the core sounds he's getting. Why Pete doesn't have 1m+ subs escapes me. But then, I kinda like getting in on the ground floor of the PT elevator. ROCK IT UP PETE - the new album is hella great! :)
Pete is a Great communicator. He knows his stuff ( inside & out ) and can make even-complex information . . . Easy to Digest and Absorb. I just love his videos & playing.
Truly the best guitarist / online content creator there is imho. Interview with Pete going live shortly. You may want to follow me on Insta. Among MANY other things we go through all his gear used on PTII track by track.
Pete has to be one of the coolest musicians that I seen. Great guitarist and just a cool dude! Thanks for the rundown Pete! Awesome equitable and pedal board as well.
19 people gave this a thumbs down? What? Oh, wait, they must’ve had bad eye sight and thought the title said, Beat Thor, instead of Pete Thorn! If I could give this infinite thumbs up, I would! Always a pleasure to see skill and wisdom in action. Thanks Pete!
I love 212 cabinets. They seems to be tighter....warmer and non flubby and super warm, I see where he is coming from. Thanks Pete your a huge inspiration !
Great rig rundown Pete! Love you sharing your thinking behind both the sounds, routing, etc. Give all players both the benefit of your deep insights and experiences and many things to try out!!! This rig sounds amazing and of course, the angels weep for joy when you play! I aso have to say that using things like the FreqOut is awesome to see. I feel like loads of "pro" players would be wary of such a tool to create feedback, but it sounds amazing and fits the rig well!!!
Great Rig Rundown, What a Dream Pedalboard. The Boss DD-500 Sounds Fantastic in the Effects Loop. Thanks for sharing Pete. Always Informative and enjoyable to listen to you play. Safe travels brother.
Hey, Pete, love the SAKURAJIMA intro on this footage. Such a powerful song. I am Japanese so I have known Tsuyoshi for years. But since you joined the band, I started digging his music more and now I am into it. I just watched his show in Kagoshima held in last year on cable TV. Your tone and playing was just amazing. Hope to watch Tsuyoshi's show and you in person, Japanese fans love you!
Hey Pete. I just became aware of you recently and Im super happy that I did! You're a monster musician my friend and I am vey grateful for what Ive learned from you this far. Your approach is educational and inspiring. Thank you sir!
Such a great Rig Rundown! Enjoyed every second and all the detail that you are so adept at adding. Hope the tour is going well and look forward to your weekly segments as well. Thx Pete and Godspeed
Well that's what playing electric guitar is all about... Big Fun ! Need to know what your'e doing though and Pete has so much knowledge about all this stuff it's great you share this with us. So inspiring. Thanks Pete for your generosity.
Totally awesome! you are an amazing guitar player and songwriter God bless you and thanks for taking the time to demo your amazing guitars and your gear.
Grate 30 min rundown. So happy for you and your success! I remember hanging out at the old Tone Merchants in Orange, you're always a class act who has the knowledge, skills, and ability. Wishing you the very best!
you are such a pedal nerd.. i have 3 pedals and forget why i have them most of the time.. thanks for demoing the sounds and not just taking about them. rock on fellow Canuck.
It is amazing how technology has evolved over the years for guitarists, we're really lucky...I just wish I understood more about what he's talking about but I'm sure with more time and a whole lot more video and hands on stuff I'll get the grip of it...
Pete you’re the Best Guitar Player the best guy really down to earth person & have a great Personality.i also lov all the demo that you do on RUclips,,R&R Pete Thorn Yesssss
Awesome job Pete - Love your detailed description of your set-up. How and why you set things up and how they work so helpful for us guitar nerds. Love your gear. I use some of the same stuff and a stereo rig. Love the line 6 and eventide gear. Thanks so much. Will keep watching and Learning. Peace
Very interesting and well done Pete! So cool to see AND hear your rig setup and tones. I’ve been running my volume pedal through my effects loop for a while now and it’s a great way to go! BTW, played a Suhr Pete Thorn at Wildwood yesterday. Very impressive, a high quality guitar all around. Not my style - I’m just a Les Paul guy - but I was VERY tempted! Bet it’s hard to come down after a tour like you just finished! All the best!
Would love to see you tour the states! I was at an Ann Wilson, Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers concert in Jax, Fl wearing the t shirt you sent pledge peeps and had a random dude point at it and give a big thumbs! You have the support of the people that know you and your awesome music. Welcome back and looking forward to some Pete Thorn Sunday live!
Pete Thorn Dave plays his through an AC30 most of the time and it sounds awesome and powerful but I have to say when I plug it into my 100 W JCM 800 it really comes to life .
Great run down Pete! The pedal board you have put together has to be the 10 Lbs in a 5 Lb bag for sure, you have all of the effects and tone angles covered... cool stuff!.
I think the bit at the end, where Pete talks about his tech, just illustrates the kind of person Pete is - he's into gear, but he really values people. You don't see that on a lot of rig rundowns.
I love that you mentioned Fortus because you guys are both super cool but total guitar geeks like the rest of us lol. Great vid Pete. And I just love your blue sig. Beautiful guitar.
Great video. I love how passionate you are about your gear. It's so educational the way you explain the usage of everything too. Not just "here look at my guitar" - but why each one has a place etc. Great stuff. What are the chances of your ever making those Helix Patches public? Would love to get hold of them!
Thanks for that tour. Blows me away that in 73 Jimmy Page would play 3-1/2 hour shows using just his les Paul -> CryBaby -> Echoplex -> 1 Marshall Super Lead (no stereo) and he would wow the audience into a panic. Today we need a NASA mission control system of pedals to play to an audience that couldn't tell the difference between a phaser or a chorus.
I can relate to what you are saying and of course reading in the hyperbole. My take on it though is that in my experience non musicians still pick up on the difference and know when excellence is being presented - they just can't break down the 'why'. The other aspect is the emotional component of the playing which often trumps everything. Third - I know I play better and with more intensity if I am happy with my tone. I love the fact we can combine modern technology with classic and look forward to what is 'next'.
So true. Pete Thorn has an amazing setup, but a bit too much for the average player in a local bar band like me! I've simplified my board to 6-7 pedals into the front end of an Orange OR15. That PT amp sure sounds sweet, though.
Interviewer : What amp do you use?
Pete : Suhr
In : What wireless do you use?
Pete : Shure
In : Can you show us how your rig sounded?
Pete : Sure.
I like this. We don't have to cross our fingers for a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown. Pete runs that danged thing down himself!
Pete is such an amazing guy, he answers questions HIMSELF when he can, he is selfless with what he knows and what he shares and he seems so approachable, humble and down to earth. Besides be a MONSTEROUS guitar player!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching, Jim!
Thanks for proving my point Pete! Have a great tour man!!!!!!!
I just love this guy! His tone, his musicality, his attitude, everything, amazing guy.
Could Not Agree More L7D !!!
he has awesome reviews of the gear that he actually uses and very informative without ego
Best rig rundown I ever watched. A good Canadian boy who knows his own gear
Exactly!
21:49 Macmul guitar, an Israeli boutique guitar builder who makes great guitars.
Respect!
Apparently, 2 people are jealous of Pete’s setup and chops...like, seriously, if you dislike this video, you’re just being a troll.
Such an interesting video! Keep rocking, Pete!
Maybe just because they dont have this setup, envy mostly im guessing :P
Look another thumbs down comment...never fails😂😂😂
@@bmwf1joel another comment about a thumbs down comment. Lol. Careful how you say things 😁
They are either demented or they are djent fuck heads with no taste.
I mean its too much for me, I looked at it cross-eyed, but still cool and he seems like a nice guy. Professional rock star.
Pete is the steve lukather of our times! you are an amazing musician and big guy. Love from Chile Pete!! We love you!
Steve is da man!!!!! Incredible player and career
Normally I don't sit through an entire rig rundown (regardless of the artist) but this was the exception. Great job.
Best rig rundown I've seen in years. Pete is not only a fabulous player, but also a great narrator. Thumbs up for posting this vid!
PT is Mr. NO BS.

Hey thanks!
Beautiful. Loved this video. Beautiful tones at your feet. Helix as a back up. Great idea 💡
I have been a huge fan since his eruption video almost ten years ago now . ! Pete is a true asset to the entire guitar world !
Thank you for being so generous with your time Pete. Your humble approach is much appreciated. Peter
Geez this dude is doin it right. Common sense set up dialled In supremely. Outstanding chops. Down to earth friendly attitude. What a legend
18:27 plug for the DigiTech FreqOut pedal, which I love! ...thanks to Pete's review way back. :)
Quite possibly one of the very best rig rundown-type vids I have yet seen. Then again, coming from Pete, I'm not surprised at all. Massively informative, meticulously detailed and he gave us a taste of the core sounds he's getting.

ROCK IT UP PETE - the new album is hella great! :)
Joe Satchton agree 100% on all counts!
Thanks so much!

Put on Google: Wintersun+rigged. Other post with a lot of information!
Awesome that Pete takes this much time to be so thorough with his rig.
I would love to see a video comparing your main rig vs the Helix version of your main rig! Let’s see how close they sound!
Pete does his *own* rig tour! Who better to explain it all? Awesome as always.
Pete has to be one of the coolest musicians that I seen. Great guitarist and just a cool dude! Thanks for the rundown Pete! Awesome equitable and pedal board as well.

thanks for taking the time out of your hecktic touring schedule to go at lengths to tell us about all your gear. So very kind of you. Thanks!
So humble, gracious, and talented.
Oh my word what a glorious sound thanks Pete ...
I love 212 cabinets. They seems to be tighter....warmer and non flubby and super warm, I see where he is coming from. Thanks Pete your a huge inspiration !

I can't imagine the amount of time dedicated to pedalboard/amp setup and programming before a tour. Thanks so much for sharing this, Pete.
Man he's such a clean player.. meaning every thing his hands do has perfect form. He's a machine. Awesome.
Great Rig Rundown, What a Dream Pedalboard. The Boss DD-500 Sounds Fantastic in the Effects Loop. Thanks for sharing Pete. Always Informative and enjoyable to listen to you play. Safe travels brother.
Best rig rundown I've seen in awhile !!... Thanks Pete for bringing us along !!

Sweet. That Archer sounds killer.
I think the bit at the end, where Pete talks about his tech, just illustrates the kind of person Pete is - he's into gear, but he really values people. You don't see that on a lot of rig rundowns.
Very cool Pete! Great looking venue, would've been a blast! Thanks mate.
