I bought these speakers 6 months ago and I agree with every word of this review. These speakers are astonishing and they deliver irrespective of the volume level. I run these with a Moon 600i v2 and it’s a match made in heaven. Not cheap, but it sounds utterly musical and you can throw any music at these speakers. They never get flustered. It’s all about the music at the end of the day.
I have some Contour 30i that I love the sound of, they are powerful and refined at the same time. What do you think about changing them for Heritage? I use a Hegel H390 amplifier and the room is about 20 square meters.
@@Studioincar Thank you very much for answering. Bass is important to me and I don't want to add a subwoofer. So I'm sticking with the Contour 30i, which is very musical and has a great sound.
@@Sergiobendit Hi, I have a room about the same size as yours and I am also considering Dyns Contour 30i. Can you give some more details about the positioning of the speakers (distance from the rear wall) and if you use some acoustic treatment etc. My amplifier is Gryphon Diablo 300. Thank you!
@@cosmingavrila2201 In the end I changed them for the Dynaudio Heritage Special. In my living room the Heritage are much better in everything. The 30i's I sold to a friend who has a larger room, about 30 square meters, and they sound great in his room, I don't recommend them in rooms under 20 square meters I never got them to sound really good in 20 square meters, the HS's they sound amazing. I wouldn't trade my Heritage Special's for anything, I love them.
I'm running a pair of naim 135's with SBL's and am looking at various Dynaudio options and would be keen to know if you have any that you could recommend as you've had the opportunity to listen to a lot of the range? thanks
Is there a pairing (other than Hegel) that particularly works well, from your experience? Asking because I am considering the 30i‘s for my next system 😊
@@Studioincar Thank you for sharing your recommendation! Would the L-507 Z do the trick or do you think I would have to go for Luxman's top L-509 Z amp?
That is entirely up to your pocket! The 509z is the better of the two and will grab a little more of the Contour 30i. I'm listening to the 507z on the contour 30i as I type!! It's not a bad match at all. Streaming with an Auralic Altair g1.1
Can't decide between these and the evoke 50. Or save up more for the 60i. Fairly large living room and running hegel 390. Currently have kef r3 but looking for an upgrade.
I had the Evoke 50 with parasound. I liked the SP40 way better. I'm looking into the 30i myself but am afraid I won't like them either. I founf the SP40 much better than the Kef R3
@@brentongooch5494 in my 13x15 room with a21 or jc5 I personally didn't. A smaller amp like a23 probably wouldn't cut it for me. JC5 is just enough. And I came from having JL e112 for a while.
Cheers for that. Here in AUS, the sp40 is twice the price of the R3 ( 3k vs 6K ) so I would hope they would be the better speaker. I had my heart set on a tower speaker though. Think I'll go with the 30i! As for the JLe112, Did you like it? I have a separate dedicated theater room and was going to swap out my old paradigm for one of these. But again in AUS, it's an expensive sub 4.5K.
comparisons that you have in stock? obviously, the 60i (it's taller, so the tweeter position is even more of a problem unless you own a cavern. i really don't understand how such an engineering driven brand made such a colossal and obvious design fail. but at least it's a proper 3-way with a dedicated midrange. the money they're asking for the 30i considering it's 2.5-way with all the directiviry et al problems that come with that "topology"... yeah). then the Consequence 30 (significantly higher in price, yeah i know :)). the Wharfedale Elysian and finally the Amphion 7LS thanks for this review, btw :)

My room is about 22 square meters. A 15 square meter room might be too small.
I also have a 600i, how is the bass on the contour 30i? thanks
The bass is superb and very tightly controlled no matter what you throw at it.
Hello friends, is the combination of Accuphase and contour 30i good or not ?
Hell yeah it's good!

Luxman/Dynaudio work wonderfully together.

Oh, sounds promising then! How does the L-507 Z compare to the Hegel (390) you used for the review a year ago?
Oh the 507Z is a clear winner in that race. The 390 is a wonderful amp but the 507 just brings this crazy realism with it.

I don't like 2 1/2 way speakers no matter how good they sound; I prefer standmount and 3 1/2 way speakers.
