    If you have a floorplan of a house but you are not quite happy with this, simply cutting the rooms out and rearranging is an easy way to test and plan to ensure that it follows feng shui guidelines while flowing well and looking great! to learn more about feng shui, I have written a book called Feng Shui Modern that is available in audiobook format and can be listened to on Audible.

    This is an actual clients house in Chile! Of course there are alot more details such as sun direction (remember southern hemisphere) as well as the slope of the land and the neighbours, basically the top is the better side to face and the bottom is where the driveway should be:)

      You extended the house 'towards' the driveway, and I was wondering if their plot of land allowed for that? As you might be aware, since I think you've got some experience in the Netherlands, plot sizes and streets can pose some restrictions and my brain thought the ' driveway' was a passing street you couldn't jus extend your house in :p

      @jlt131 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@LittleLion_90property setbacks and allowances would definitely have to be checked. this also appears to have magically added a bit more floor space, meaning also higher building costs. in my part of north america, the average house is around $300/sq ft (or more) to build so adding even a little more can get expensive!

    I love houses designed to priotise the view. Such a house like this so mysterious when you arrive/drive up and stop. What you see in front of you is mostly wall, for a garage and toilet/ bathroom etc with only a few small high-functional windows, so plain and modest. But once you walk in, it's all WoW! I had no idea, those wraparound views! the surprise factor when you enter the interior never fails to delight.

    My boyfriend and I are moving into the house his sister used to live in. It was hard to imagine what WE would do with the different spaces because I had in my mind what SHE did with those spaces. She has 2 kids, we don't, so the way we will use the same house is so different! It took getting out my notebook and planning it from a strictly feng shui perspective. Once I went back to the "rule book" instead of being clouded by what used to be there, I found the optimal setup for us! Your videos prepared me for a year for this task lol!

    Stacking the bedrooms right on top of each other is a great way to make sure inhabitants can hear people in the other bedrooms getting weird through the walls. I think a lot of residential homes I see try to avoid this by placing bathrooms between them or spacing them out to opposite sides of the house.

    Huh, I thought feng shui prefers the front door to be visible from the street (except perhaps a chaotic street) near the center of the front, and not L shaped with a "missing" corner. Personally I would always try to put the laundry as close as possible to a door accessing an appropriate part of the yard for an outdoor clothesline. Sun-dried laundry is not only green but the most luxurious for bedding.

    I ordered your book, and it hasn't arrived yet but I wanted to know how the principles of Feng Shui can work with very plant heavy inclusions (something akin to the solarpunk architectural style, I like the style of overgrown structures).

    Looks good, though if I were doing it I'd try to a) have the new home fitting exactly onto the old foundation, so I don't have to create a new bit of foundation (which will potentially settle over time at a different rate than the existing foundation, leaving the house with unevennesses in the floors.) And b) I'd try and do it in such a way that I won't have to move too many water and sewerage pipes around. As per this design, it seems to me (and I'm not an expert, so perhaps my concerns are unfounded,) that to get your new plan going, you more or less have to demolish the existing home and start again, practically from scratch. I don't want to take anything away from your design though. Layout-wise, the new home seems a lot nicer and more usable.

    How would you set it up so the primary bedroom isn’t sharing a wall with the other bedrooms? I’m not a fan of kids or guests being on the other side of my bedroom wall

      That was my thought too. I don't necessarily want to share a wall with a kid's bedroom if I can help it.
      I guess it makes most sense to put the master closet, maybe a bathroom or dining room, inbetween the master bedroom and other bedrooms without knowing more details (direction of sunlight, plumbing setup, specific wants of the client, etc.) (The kitchen and living room are also options that'll want a nice view, but might get too loud if someone is asleep in the next room.)

      @@nr7701 right … I personally would have swapped the kid rooms with the living room and kitchen area … still views, yeah? I want the kids far away from me 🤣 that’s not the kind of energy I need by my room

      Facts lol I don't like sharing a wall with my kids my house plans basically have my room on one external wall and them on the opposite one with bathrooms and stairs in-between well be on an upper floor though and in the middle of nowhwre so views aren't really an issue either

      @@alorastewart7091 all of our bedrooms are upstairs, but our closet touches the closet of the one kids room and then the bedroom that shares a wall with us is my office since I work from home. Even that feels too close. I wanted a different floorplan that had my closet touching the kid’s bathroom wall instead, but the builder said our lot wasn’t the right size for that plan. I couldn’t compromise on my lot though. It’s gorgeous

    Do you have any layout idea for cargo shipping containers?

    This is very nice but I think that most homes should be built with closets or bathrooms between bedrooms for noise buffering and more privacy. I like that you eliminate the wasteful long hallways. They only work if you can put console tables, narrow furniture, or built in cabinets in them. I may have tried putting the "kids" bedrooms more towards the front of the house and the entire master suite along the rear of the house. I really love the work that you do.
