  • United Airlines has announced plans to acquire up to 35 A321neo aircraft on long-term leases to cover ongoing Boeing 737 MAX delays which are impacting its operations. Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines forecasts a worse loss for Q1 as the U.S. carrier continues battling engine issues and subsequent Airbus aircraft groundings. Lastly, easyJet has cancelled flights to Israel until October 2024 at the earliest amid the conflict breakout that has posed safety concerns.

It would be interesting to note the correlation of pay to performance in these companies that are losing huge amounts of money. Most times the CEOs are raking in huge salaries while delivering dismal performance. Taking huge increases each year while the company falls farther and farther behind. It would seem a reality check is needed across the business world. Upper management seems a license to steal and a get home free card to excuse a total lack of performance.

Why aren't airlines deferring deliveries of aircraft with these PW engines?
Airbus is basically delivering aircraft to airlines that are ending up being grounded and costing the airlines money.
This is being constantly viewed quietly while everyone keeps blaring trumpets about Boeing issues, but it's going to force airlines to suspend operations, or go out of business completely.
