A new requirement to even start your first race on iRacing should be to watch multiple unskippable videos about how to perform a safe rejoin, among other things.
I would love to talk to drivers like the one in: bad moment to go wide. I mean wtf dude? You see that the car infront of you missed the corner, you ALSO didn‘t get the turn at all, you see that the car is about to rejoin, how in the gods green earth, didn‘t he think about braking? Dude.. thats just suuuuch bad driving.
Iracing should implement ghosting for cars rejoining the track after going off track. The car should be a ghost for the first 3 or 5 seconds after re-entry.
What really concerns me is, the fact that I see many instances of irl 'Professional' racers doing the very same shit we see on this platform or any public server for that matter. I was different to most when I came to sim racing. I came from and through, irl motorcycle racing, so I have known flag rules, track etiquette etc for over 30 years. As far as the above situation...I think many are learning their racecraft from the irl Mixed enduro's. Some woeful driving skills exhibited there. I blame the ridiculous levels of safety, that has eroded driving/riding standards (Don't get me started on Motogp) to the point that they now take blindly stupid risks that 20 years ago they'd have thought better of...you know, could get hurt. Racing is more about surviving the opposition, rather than racing the track, as it normally should be.
The rejoining drives me nuts, Yes it's a race I understand you want to get back in it. But you messed up be patient and don't end your (and someone else's) race entirely. Just wait a bit.
Just started iracing today, cut my laptime on Virginia circuit place from a 2:30 average to a 2:05. First couple races tanked my safety rating to below 2 im back up to 2.2. Im verseing 1500-3500s and placing podium.

I disagree, people should just learn to behave or get big penalties. It's a harcore simulator and should stay like that
No, they should just be more heavy handed with suspensions/permanent bans for drivers who do those rejoins.
