- Every elk season, the team from Elk101 is blessed with an opportunity to hunt elk with a young hunter who has been battling a life-threatening illness. This season, they get the opportunity to spend a week in elk country with Samuel, a 14-year old young man from Pennsylvania who has been fighting Leukemia.
Accompanying Samuel on the hunt are his father, Ryan, and his older brother, also Ryan (Ry). Ry was the bone marrow donor who gave Samuel another shot at life, and the bond they share goes deeper than “just brothers”.
These hunts provide more than just a chance to shoot an elk - they provide the opportunity to evaluate our lives, and remember the incredible blessings we have been given every day. Folks, meet Samuel…

Can’t tell you how encouraging it is to hear Donny pray his Heart for this you boy and for the hunt, and also see Donny’s Servant’s Heart, helping him set up for a possible shot. I love all their videos, but this hunts by far the most highly anticipated of the year for me. These hunts show the bonds that are built while we chase Gods creatures. So much more to our sport than just killing. I’ve shed many tears watching their videos, but Austin praying over that bull last year had me 😢 like no other. I hope this young man gets to experience that same feeling that Austin did. I’d encourage anyone that can to reach out to local hunting organizations and get involved in a hunt like this. It’ll change your life!!

When I watch the Outfitters For Hope episode I so enjoy watching the survivors doing something that most have never done, or may have never had a chance to do. I do wish I had known about these programs when my oldest son was alive, we lost him to Cystic Fibrosis back in 2018

There are not enough donors out there. Give blood and sign up to be a donor/life saver. It's easy now days. Only missed 1 day in the woods. Not bad for saving a life.
