I watch your video vol 1 thru 4 on Ruby Red and l love it. Great Restoration video and Thank you. I am a original owner of a 1985 Honda Elite 250. I am now very motivated to work on my scooter. I stop riding my scooter many years due to an idiot that try to run me off the road when I was going to college. Total miles I have is 7,333. Many people tell me get rid of the bike. For some reason I kept the bike because he was automatic and it was a beautiful bike. Watching your video has motivated me now to restore my bike to the Beautiful bike that it was once. Like Ruby Red thank you so much for motivating me on this new project. You did a excellent job on these restoration video. Respecting Charlie 🙂👍five⭐of excellent.
This is a wonderful bike. Very beautiful and with his soul. Good luck with your project. I myself own a Honda freeway 250 1987. I look forward to new videos from you with curiosity. From Russia with love
Just picked up my first scooter, an 86 elite 250 and found your restoration series. I watch all of them and they are very helpful. I can't wait for the weather to warm up here to start some restoration of my own. Will definitely be using the series for reference.
Welcome Andrew to my channel!! I have a collection of quite a few different bikes to watch videos on. I hope you enjoy them! I read all my feedback and am here to help if I can! - Ruby the Elite
The bike turned out great! I hope you enjoy many miles on the 250. Your videos will be a great reference when I start working on my project. My 1985 Elite 250 has the exact same two tone seat:)
For the pin striping removal, I just go over the darker side with the heat gun. That’s due to the sun not getting to the area. She looks real sweet, catch you on the next one and ride safe.
Hero Bruce! Welcome to my channel! Unfortunately the only place to really find parts is Ebay. You may have luck finding a forum for the Elite 250 but the parts haven't been made in a long time from Honda.
Another great video. I like your attention to detail. The carpets look great also. When you find a scooter or motorcycle you want to restore it is always a challenge trying to find parts. Can't wait to see your next project. Have you ridden your Morphous much or has the weather not been ideal? Here in Phoenix we have year round good weather, well except when it is 120 degrees.
Thank you for the nice feedback! The Texas weather has been tough! Been weird weather here! I have ridden it only a few times. Come March it will be better and I can't wait! The new Helix is gonna be fun to work on! Can't wait to compare the Morphous to the Helix!
any plans for shock changes/upgrades? On my Helix I first replaced all the rubber shock mount bushings as they were all wallowed out from 26 years of use. The shocks are probably the weak point, now. I've seen Hagons as an option, YSS shocks and maybe others. Like to pull the trigger on the Hagons for the front but they are a bit pricey ($240?)..I guess taking care of an old scoot never ends..
I honestly haven't given any thought at all to the Helix. I'm going in with a complete open mind. I've been only concentrating on getting the Elite 250 done. The weather hasn't been cooperating here!
@@rubytheelite I’m really looking forward to your Helix videos. I bought one last spring and I’m just getting into some restoration, but could use some tips and tricks that I know you will provide.
Over the last 25 years I've worked on these bikes you wouldn't believe some of the crap people do. I flat out refuse to ride any scooter I buy except for of course the short test ride until i inspect it fully! This particular Elite I just finished....The brake cable broke as I pulled it back for a the first ride!!!! That's why I say in my videos and I quote " You are a fool if you don't go through the whole bike" TRUST NO ONE!
don't toss the old one, sell it.. that front piece even used worth a lot of money. Not sure how you found a new one. I have a cracked lower one i had to fix, it looks good but wish i could find new. What are you using for the carpet mat fasteners? I have the carpet also and broke a fastener, cant find a new one anywhere. Maybe use a GM fender push pin of similar size but would rather find OEM.

Just got done with my elite 150 and you know what I forgot? Rear diff oil lol, I guess you were right, everyone forgets that diff oil
Another great job.. my new 87 helix has Ben spray painted blue.😫

Very nice reveal. Do you have any suggestions on sourcing a replacement throttle grip assembly for the 1985 elite 250? Mine deteriorated.

So did the sliders work out well? I’m curious if it’s worth ditching the grease and running them?
The grease is not needed if you use rollers or sliders. I never regrease ever on any of my bikes over the years.
I lost a little top end with them.

@@rubytheelite One thing nice about the Helix is most parts are readily available. You can completely replace all plastic relatively reasonable.

@@rubytheelite I think the Elite 250 and Helix use the same shocks (?)..I was asking if you're going to do any shocks or anything else on the Elite
@@stevefletcher2334 In volume 2 I install PCX150 shocks on the Elite 250. My findings on how they are will be part of my first vlog on the bike🙂
