I bought a yellow 2004 with a top box and about 9000 miles a year ago December. Great ride! Felt immediately comfortable! Took it on a 405 mile ride around the South and East borders of Ohio and back home. If you ignore Kentucky, Ohio has a beautiful coastal highway! Great in town, on country roads and on the US routes! Mostly stick to the right lane on Interstates; but I enjoy the state routes more. Great storage for shopping! Brought a air purifier back home by shoving it into a large duffel then strapping it into the rear passenger grab bars. I still like the retro futuristic look. Enjoy!
I recently picked up a 1992 Helix. Immediately changed the oil to synthetic, changed the final drive fluid to 90 weight gear oil, replaced the belt, clutch, variator, rear tire, thermostat, temp sender switch and brakes. Runs like a champ. Absolutely love it! I work nights until midnight, so I usually go out for a ride after work at around 1 or 2 in the morning. Nobody on the roads but me.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Jesse Liam I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I bought a new 2005 identical to this one in August 2005. Became disabled late 2013, Helix sat for almost 3 yrs with a battery tender on it. Recovered to where I could ride it mid 2016. Had to clean carb, drain tank, install new fuel filter, change oil. Runs like new, carb needed cleaning before I quit riding it. Has 12,600 miles on it, probably time for a CVT belt.
Update .. after much research, i sold my Reflex and bought a Helix. Best decision ever, the Helix is much more comfortable seatwise, plus it makes bumpy roads feel smooth. And to think that i was happy with a Reflex. I will take a Helix any day.
The Helix is much more fun then the Reflex, it's kinda a chick magnet, and in the weirdest way. Almost all woman love it, no one ever talks about that aspect of the Helix. My old 1979 KZ1000 didn't get one tenth of the attention that the Helix gets from the lady"s and it was really loud. If you want to meet cute girls, don't spend $60,000 on a Corvette, just spend $800 on a helix.
Wow only 800 miles... I'd put that on in 2 weeks! Love my 01, had 16k when I bought it and needed lots of tlc. Someone bought it to ride only and not maintain...
I still got it rides like a Cadillac I put it back rest on it I put a rack and a milk crate on the back so I can carry stuff I would never sell this thing. I have some more videos on there about it somewhere on my channel.
I recently bought an 03 Reflex with under 5 k miles on it. It looks and runs like new. I guess they are pretty close to a Helix. I am crazy about the Reflex..
I’m going to try and pay my Honda ruckus off so I can start looking for a good used helix I’ve been wanting one for a while they say those engines are bulletproof,,, yours looks great
