I think you're right in that she's saying her life is is one giant loop like a circle, but it isn't implying the feelings aren't mutual. The line of "are these words that you gave me real" implies they said "yes I love you" but she is still contemplating about whether or not it was true. Nocturnal Ultimately I'ld say it depends on the song and who's actually singing it. There are some covers that really don't work but also others that are so good they basically trump all other versions. A couple examples of the latter would be Akiakane's "Sleeping Beauty" and Reoni's "I Don't Want To Know"
Actually, it depends on opinions. I find the originals better but you might find the covers better, there's no such thing as "being so good they trump all other versions".

frankly, this song is such a double-edged sword for me, something about it made me associate it with memories of the mental abuse I had to endure in several relationships and how it felt like it kept repeating over and over again while I was oblivious until afterwards, but it also helps in some odd way? I guess how I interpret the song makes me feel less alone

Rachie, have you ever thought of making a song based on the game called Detention? It's a game made in English from a Taiwanese indie developer, an a psychological horror game based on real events in 1960 Taiwan.
If I were to describe a game without spoiling too much, it's about a high school girl trying to find her place in the place she once called school, thus the name "Detention".
Rachie isn't a song writer (At least I don't think so), she just does covers of songs. But if there's a song about Detention, then she could probably sing it

Got rid to all of them, after having some self respect. This song, especially this cover always made me emotional, every time now im listening to this, im just greatful the way im moving on and replacing my toxic 'circle'. Thank you

This song perfectly describes an eating disorder… it has so much meaning of what I went through, just being stuck in a loop of self hate and addiction, the circle of starving and losing weight and obsessing over it and then binging and drinking to feel better for a few days, then back to starving, listening to this song on repeat and other ED songs, and depressing songs, something to motivate me, watching heaps of ED RUclips content or movies. Then eventually I give up on it after years I ignored my weight and ate whatever , eventually you realise your too fat again and wanna go back to the old ways, then it inevitably starts all over again, but you just wanna be healthy and not have to deal with controlling your food cause it sends you on a bad path of self destruction…
