I find myself replaying 28:29 I've replayed it at least 23 times since the premiere. This is without a doubt easily some of the best piece of cinema of all time. The setup, acting, animation, timing and execution is masterfully done. The setup is crystal clear. It happens so fast it's easy to overlook how much care was taken to craft this sequence. Mando hits the stormtrooper, stormtrooper falls, tries to get up and bends over. From this point the director makes it clear what's about to happen. However, does it in such a way that it doesnt feel predictable. You think "oh he will just shove the sword up his ass" but no, the director wouldnt just throw a cheap shot, hes up there with the likes of Scorsese and Kubrick. He makes it 10x funnier than most people wouldve made it by: 1: the acting... the voice actor knocked it out of the park, you can hear genuine fear in his voice as hes being dragged away. You cant fake that. No doubt, the voice actor shoved a real object up his anus to get the performance as realistic as possible 2: the animation... the way the head moves is done in such a way that it captures the full range of emotions despite the limitations of legos, the director was able to capture rich emotions in the body language to really drive home the desperation one would no doubt feel when having a sword shoved up their ass. Finally, this is such an underatted sequence. Colleges all over the world should teach this ONE sequence in their classrooms to understand how comedy and timing should be executed, because the director didnt just execute it, he downright publicly molested this shot. Beautifully done all around. I cannot find a single flaw even after replaying it 23+ times
Ah yes nice work, man and dang. At 42 minutes is indeed a feat worthy of reconition, I had great fun in voicing my part as well for this project. Well done, man and keep up the good work!
Dude, this was absolutely incredible! It was extremely hilarious and had some outstanding animation! Probably one of the best brickfilms I've ever seen. Thank you for having me voice!
Ayy dude, this is honestly incredible and hilarious and one of my favourite brickfilms, the everything about this was great! The voice acting, animation and comedy all worked perfectly and I’m so happy that I was able to be apart of this amazing video and I bet this video will forever be remembered in the Lego Stop Motion Community! You’ve earned my respect!!
You did a really good job on sounding like Temura Morrison dude. I was lol-ing like crazy a ten seconds good job. Quick Q. Are we gonna get the book of boba fett? Cuz I imagine that will be ready funny lol
this is one of the best animations i have ever watched combined with amazing choreography and some of the most hilarious comedy. seriously good job man i look up to you.
Bro that was soooo good. Where do I start. The comedy man!!! Oh my gosh that was so funny and fun to watch. Also those fight scenes were actually really cool. Like wtf why did the wap song work so well 😂. Also the voice acting was so great. Fantastic job to everyone. Also I can’t forget the vfx they looked really good. To the simple blaster shots to the ships it was all so good. Fantastic job man I really McLoved that!
@@MoonbrickStudios I also loved the video! I have some questions! Like we’re do you get the bricks and we’re did you get the app for the lightsaber effects?
YES!!! I finally got around to watching the full 42 minute video, and boi oh boi was it worth the wait! Where do I begin? Well firstly, I'd like to personally thank you for asking me to help out with the video and for choosing the title to be "Daddy Strikes Back" lol! I don't know how you manage to write such entertaining and hilarious scenes especially with the final video being as long as it is. It was a blast to help make, watch, and chat with you throughout the process. I seriously hope this gets more attention because all the dedication should NOT go unnoticed. The animation was perfectly choppy and smooth (if that makes any sense) which can be a hard balance. Exceptional work by everyone who contributed to the project, and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. "May the DADDY be with you!" - JDaddy
Now THIS, is what I call a movie. Great job, my man. You have truly outdone yourself with this vid. I cannot wait to see what awesomeness you do next, dude. Peace out.
hey dude sorry for not commenting on this but this is a very well executed film and the comedy is just great! Especially the death troopers voices are so good HAHAH
This is the best writing in a brick film ever, all the jokes landed and I’m guessing you have a bright future in this line of work. I’m a small animator but one of my biggest dreams is to animate or voice with LEGO giants like you, Forrestfire, Corey pine, ZachLegoManiac, Edbound and etc. I’m improving a lot and shooting better stuff everyday so I hope it can happen someday😁. I’m even working on big project right now, a black and white silent action stop motion out of LEGO.
Lmao this is fucking gold! Meant to watch this sooner, but glad I finally took the time to watch this. Loved everything about this, especially those spicy action scenes!
I was looking through the credits and I saw that Jack pop voiced one of the storm troopers. Is this the popular RUclips Jackpop, and, if so, how did you get him to voice for you. Also, what’s the song used in the end credits lol?
hey man! yeah that's jack pop the youtuber! i recreated his song "the bully busters" in LEGO and that got his attention, haha. so i dmed him on insta and just asked if he'd be down to do a couple lines for a film and he said yes!
@@psychoanimations5708 27:47 he's the red shock trooper in this sequence! and sorry, the last song in the end credits is called KasherQuon Pickle by Lil Rocket Launcher. everyone's askin about his music lol

This is just ONE sequence out of a 42 minute film. I could make an entire 5 hour documentary detailing every joke and how perfectly it was executed
I thank you so much good sir for your rhetorical analysis. AP Lang must have taught you well.
The thing that makes it such a good sequence to me is the head movements, it looks so realistic, and also when he’s being dragged away is hilarious
Fackin femnists! Lol
37:27 I’m just facing the wall lmao 😂 loved this video!
