Great video my friend 👍. I picked up that same Mossy Oak trapper along with a Roper that looks like a Sod Buster Jr with a back lock, and a Roper turquoise peanut. All of them were $9.99 each at my Tractor Supply. When I saw the Mossy Oak, I immediately thought to myself, Gideon would love the scales on this knife! The Roper peanut, they call a peanut but actually it is a tiny trapper because it doesn't have a pen blade, it has a clip point and a spey blade which is the same length as the clip point.
That sog seems pretty decent for the price. 5cr isn't great, but it came pretty sharp, weighs basically nothing, and seemed to have good action. Seems like it'd be a good knife if you just need something cheap on a short notice. As for the mossy oak trapper, I did some digging, and it seems to use 3cr steel, so that's a bit of a dissapointment; at least you have the two blades to use, letting you distribute the wear better. I'm not really a fan of how soft it sounds opening, though; I'm sure it's fine, but it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the spring.
SOG = Studies and Observations Group. The SOG was a highly classified, multi-service United States special operations unit which conducted covert unconventional warfare operations before and during the Vietnam War. (Yes I copied The last sentence from Wikipedia. I actually did know what it was, but it was just easier to copy someone else's work...) Why they wanted to copy that as the name of their company, I have no idea. Seems kind of wierd to me - but they don't have any room to gripe about people using the acronym instead of saying the letters!

I've seen those Roper knives and some of them look really neat! I may have to go back and scoop some up 😂
@@gideonsstuff They also had a 14-inch Mossy Oak Bowie that I picked up too for only $14.99!
Nice finds at TSC. Our TSC doesn’t have anything cool on clearance like that. Oh and I like your shirt too. 👍
Thanks man!👍😂
Awesome video brother, I love getting the TSC knives, I was just looking at both of those!!!!!!
Hunting for knives at TSC is one of my favorite things to do 😂
Mine too buddy

Thanks for saving me some research, man! 3Cr sounds about right. For 5 bucks, I'm not complaining
Ok on my way to ts 😅
Happy hunting👍😂

Ah yes! I have no idea why I could not remember their name while filming😂
