I just saw a craft I wanted to make and needed these binding rings but was clueless as to how to make it work. Then I found your video and there was the solution! Easy!! Thanks for the help!
Thank you! I just bought a binding machine but it only does the comb so thank you for showing that I can use the metal and just close it with my hand!!!!
Great tutoria Tracey. I have a bind it all, but not a cropadile and there are probably people that don't have either so I just wanted to give another suggestion for the holes. I made an art journal this way before I got my bind it all. You may have to use thinner chipboard or cereal box board instead, but just a simple hand held hole punch will work too. Hope that helps anyone who wants to make these and don't have these other tools yet.
What a really good idea, I do not have a bind it all machine and I did not think I could use the spiral rings without it I am so pleased you did this demonstration TFS!
Wow! What a great idea. I do not want to spend all that money right now. Even larger books are usually only bound in the center, so you don't have to punch too many holes. Thanks again.
Of course I wanted a BIA when they came out. But I'm one who lives on a limited budget, so I still don't have one. Then I found the hidden hinge system, and the stack the deck binding.so that's how I bind my mini's. I have often thought about trying the way you showed. But I don't have the rings. Now that I know it will work, I'll get some of them when I can. Much easier than making the hinge. Thanks so much for sharing your talents, I really appreciate it. Hugs, Jess
Thank you so much Jess :) I have done both of those binding methods you have mentioned. I love that there are so many options and so many talented crafters who share them with us all :)
wish I'd seen this before I bought a bind it all. I may just need to take it back to Hobby Lobby, after I try this method first! Thanks for a GREAT idea!
Great tip. I have a Bind It All and love it, but you are right it can be expensive. The binding rings are a good value because you snip off what you want to use and there is no waste involved. Leslie
Thank you so much for this tip. I was just on Amazon getting an order ready for this weekend and added the Bind it all in my wish list. Thanks to this I can now delete that item. Thanks again !!!
Thanks for that money-saving tip. If it’s okay, I’d like to point out another money-saving tip: when making the holes in the cardboard, I find a regular hole punch will work just as effectively. I use a 6mm hole punch for all my DIY coil/ring sketchbooks; watercolour books, etc.. and I’ve never had any problems. Amazon is selling one for about seven dollars as of today. I hope this helps.
Terrific idea Tracy! I also decided not to buy any more machines or craft items. I'm using what I have this year. So this video will really be a great idea to bind without the machine. I do have a Bind-it-All and I love it. But this does as good a job without the expense. TFS......
This is a fantastic idea. I have been wanting to use tha kind of binding for some time now but because I don't have a binding machine of any kind I didn't think I could use them. I too am trying to use up what I have and use the machines I have this year but I think I will get some of the bindings and give it a try! Thank you for sharing.
I saw a video the other dag and ask how do you put your ring in and she said with a bind-it-all machine. Mmm very expencies when you are just starting scrapping and make things. BUT then youre video came along when I was surging on you tube and this is THE idea for low budged scrapping. Thanks for Sharing xx Joke
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was watching HSN and they were selling a bind it all with chipboards, rings, etc for 119.00. I was about to order it, when I decided to watch yt and see if there was something better......and that is when I found your tip. I get to save money and buy more paper or stamps now. TFS this grrrreat tip.
Soooo glad I found this video. I had this idea a few days ago but a friend said it wouldn't work so I didn't try it. Soo glad I didn't bid on a bind it all. Thanks :) Steff.
Interesting to see this from 12 years ago. Currently the Cropadile retails in UK for around £53, and I just bought a fully functioning second hand Bind It All for £30 on ebay.
I just found this and would like to thank you.. It gave me another idea. I have a few old sketch books, etc that I can dissemble and re-use the rings. I didn't think I would be able to manipulate them by hand. I Thought they would be too strong and didn't think to try it. I will give it a try now. Greetings from England. x
Great idea!! I'm about cutting costs! Everything is soooo much money now days, and by doing it this way, you have more money to buy paper, or paper, or paper or... well whatever else you may addicted too! :-) Thanks for sharing!!
Oh Goodness...that is a great idea and TFS! I love paper crafting, but I don't like having to buy the expensive tools for every individual process. I like to buy a tool that can be a "multipurpose tool" and I think the Bind It All is a one job tool. (Im not sure, but that's what it sounds like). Thanks for more great tips on the Big Bite/Crop a dile tool!
Have you ever tried making your own binding wire/rings - been trying to search that on the internet - but cant seem to find anything. My rudimentary method is to wind wire around a dowel pin - but it doesnt wind uniformly! I just love the sound of your voice - so soothing!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Yes, I have the crop-a-dile ... so glad I don't have to buy the BindItAll tool. You are a "life saver" :-) Thanks ... ♥♥
I'm so glad I stumbled on you :) I almost placed a bid on a machine. I thought about this way but was still going to spend my money unnecessarily! Aughh!
instead of buying rings I'm going to steal (I mean recycle) rings out of old ringed notebooks that are used up! But great video and ideas to help with that, Thank you Tracy
i dont know if you have already shared it but is there a right way to cut the rings?? i just want to thank you for showing this i am doing it right now
So thankfull Tracy, this is realy helpfull. I like so much to find non expensive way to scrap! .... Imagination power .... Yes!!! :o) Martine From Brussels (so sorry for the bad english, ;o], )
@TracysTreasures24 Have you seen my stash? LOL Paper is my weekness but If I get anything this Summer to add to my 'stuff' it will have to be the binders. (Not sure what their called) I have to do something to use up the paper I have so i can buy more! ;0)

I am so happy you could use this and save yourself some money in the process :)
LOVE this! We have so much stuff already, and we keep getting suckered into buying more (I know I do!). Great tips, thank you!

Yes products change so much and get better .... but I still use my bind it all when I need to create a mini with coil rings. ❤
I just found this and would like to thank you.. It gave me another idea. I have a few old sketch books, etc that I can dissemble and re-use the rings. I didn't think I would be able to manipulate them by hand. I Thought they would be too strong and didn't think to try it. I will give it a try now.

I wanted an idea for a photograph flip book with holes right in the pictures. This should work well and I'll just add a front and back cover. Thanks.
I'm so happy you stumbled on my channel...I hope your photo book worked out for you ❤️
Thank you Tracy - I was just about to buy a binding machine this week and now I don't need one. :-)

I will add to this old video that one could use ribbon or another type of fabric to lace the book closed instead of buying the wires. :)
