The inspiration behind this video:
Mortal Kombat is book ended by the famed rivalry of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, the two first battling as Hanzo Hasashi (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Bi-Han in the movie's prologue in feudal Japan. Hanzo later returns in the final showdown of Mortal Kombat, teaming up with Cole Young (Lewis Tan) to defeat Sub-Zero, with both fights being major highlights of the film. With Bi-Han's teased return and potential metamorphosis into Noob Saibot, Scorpion coming back seems all but a forgone conclusion.
In turn, that would make Hanzo facing Bi-Han for a third time very likely in Mortal Kombat 2 with Bi-Han's return as Noob Saibot. This would also suggest that Scorpion's presence in Mortal Kombat 2 is likely to be considerably more significant, building upon Scorpion's memorable role in the beginning and end of Mortal Kombat. Of course, with Bi-Han battling Scorpion as Noob Saibot, that also makes room for another character's introduction in Mortal Kombat 2.

I agree to the fullest! I just don’t understand why they haven’t made a really good Mortal Kombat movie. It’s a bad ass story and would make a kick ass movie! It just seems since covid, we’ve been getting shitty films. I’m still looking forward to MK2 though.
@@DaleDeWeese-gl7xx As a previous MK - series "Arcade Reviewer and Previewer" I believe i can answer this. (I have had many round table discussions with Ed Boon and John Tobias, the original game developers). The main problem comes in much like the MCU situation from the past. Meaning the ORIGINAL MK all the way thru MK4 was still under full control by Midway Games, which was Warner Bros Chicago. But in 2010 Midway Games filed for bankruptcy, and NetherRealm Studios took the helm of the MK series. Well this brought Ed Boon into the fold, but the creative team split with John Tobias. This was not an amicable split since both blamed the fall of Midway on each other... So licensing rights went kaboom. Ed and John were the creatives behind the MK Universe of characters. Some characters were exclusively designed by John Tobias and he would not release or sell the rights to them. This is why the absence of so many characters in the recent MK movie. Only the base characters of MK 1, and 2,were CO-Owned and usable for the live action movies, so in order to regain full control, WB had to RE-INVENT the origin and storylines of many of the characters, and lemme tell you, ED is NOT the one who was inventing the original back-stories. So in the end you had a Pg-13 promise made from WB which NO PRODUCERS were willing to touch! (How exactly are you supposed to Decapitate, Electrocute, Burn, and Dismember characters and keep it pg-13??) But in 2019 WB agreed to release the noose around MK's neck and allow it to go to R. Thats why the newer MK movie was MUCH BETTER scripted, and less comical/childish. And also why the last movie was actually well received. Expect the next MK movie to be VERY GOOD! Supposedly there will be nearly 75% of it all Fights, and less story. Hope they can abide by that promise. (last spoken to Ed October 2022).

Did you watch Mortal Kombat: Legacy? There's a fine short story about their feud.
I really hope Kabal will get a redemption arc in this movie and Sindel as a Pure Evil villainess, If Rain is in this movie, I hope he becomes a Pure Good hero and even Ermac as Pure Evil just like the 2021 Reptile, I hope Rain will become BFF's with Cole Young.

I like Carl E...but man they cuda done better picking JC. He may kill it though...so...we will see.
That could be intriguing, especially if you cast him as a struggling, out-of-work actor who is trying to overcome his demons and addictions, and make his redemption arc a major part of the film. He could be an actor that for years chose fame and fortune over his destiny to compete in MK. I think JCVD could pull that off well.

The 1st movie isn't bad. I think the original movies hold better to the theme that is mortal Kombat, obviously it had limitations, it's a decently good story about mk with alright fights. I wouldn't rewatch it all the time though.
The modern movie is a God awful take on the mk universe with beautiful fights. Other than some of the smaller ones. It's a blast to watch. So which ones better?
Original grabs the theme way better but the new one is more enjoyable to watch. Hoping the 2nd one is able to take the criticism and adapt on it, nobody cares about the modern society of that world and we didn't need some weird ass explanation for powers, we just wanted to see some damn fighting.

I’m ok with Jax being black. He’s always been black from what I remember. Super Nintendo. I would be pissed if they made someone like Johnny cage black. I also get how they are changing white characters to black which is stupid in my opinion. I guess if we start crying and throwing a fit like a spoiled baby we might get our way too. I don’t mean to make this a race thing but 90% of blacks act like they hate all white people. They seem to forget we are the ones who fought for their freedom and that there was plenty of white people that liked blacks even back in the slave days. Black people didn't even act the way the do now the way they did back then. At least back then they had some respect, class and some common sense. These days it seems they want all the white people to turn on them. We all need to just get along already.

@@AdrianMC692 There was talk of scorpion giving Cole his powers to make Cole the new scorpion. that doesn't align with Scorpion's storyline especially when their still introducing characters like Johnny Cage and the new sub zero.
