Very crisp set. He was also great pianist not only conductor and he wrote beautiful compositions for orchestra and piano (regretfully not that prolific but because primary job was performing others)
Wonderful set of works, inventive, touching, striking and charming. I will have to try his other works and also listen to his conducting. Thanks again for another gem !
oh shet, I started listening not having noticed the name of the composer. and all the time I was thinking: "hm, sounds like Svetlanov. So this one influenced his style"
@@fyrexianoff Ah, I see. I actually once asked the Svetlanov foundation (who does have the score) how much it costs for the PDF, and it's 60 euros! I was wondering if somebody else had it who could share.
@@TheodoreServin huh, they never replied my email regarding their archived recording of the german galynin second concerto played by lazar berman! frustrating..
@@ClassicalRaritiesChannel как насчет того, чтоб сыграть для ютуба 5 сонатин Светланова? С 79го года так никто и не записал... Правда нот там конечно аж на 71 страницу...
It says on the svetlanov website, that there are 24 preludes, but all i could ever find was the scores and some performances of the first 12. Do you know if the rest is unpublished? By the way, the same performances have been (originally?) uploaded on a different channel called russianhollywood, and some time ago another channel put up some of the recordings with score, which were removed only a few weeks later. Just wanted to let you know, dont know if thats important.
thanks for the heads up, probably his works are still very protected by the foundation. The ones uploaded by Russian Hollywood is still available, split in 12 videos.
ah jeez, i know, im sorry, i meant to say 16 CD recordings of the complete symphonies by myaskovsky. Excuse my half git brain .. ill edit it tomorrow..
He was a great conductor, but his music is about nothing, talentless, very graphomanic without any natural ideas and music materials. It's full of subconscious borrowing and replication from other composers, especially Rachmaninov, but with no a single good melody line. His harmony from 19 century, but not that great, it flat and boring.
Hi, are you a professional composer? Do you have your own music that we could listen to in RUclips? Maybe we will enjoy your great music instead that talentless?
A surprise - a modern tonal composer whose music is upbeat. I really liked these. Thank you.
Восхитительно! Очень понравился цикл! Никогда раньше его не слышала

The melody to No. 1 sounds like it could be from a piano concerto.
I didn't realize he was a composer! And a great one! I remember he was a famous conductor!
And an awesome pianist.

Thanks for this! Svetlanov is an underrated composer. Also I really like how he concluded the last prelude with the theme from the first one at 20:35

I want to see his piano sonata!

The one sounds me as Christmas song...
rare piece
Very valuable video! You wouldn't happen to have the score to his Piano Concerto, would you?
been searching for years.. reckon it's still only available through the family.

Myaskovsky wrote 27 symphonies but not just 16.

What a nice surprise! Svetlanov has a jazz influence:) Kapustin sounds:)

I don't know I think the melody of 1 and 12 are absolutely fantastic. I even played them for a degree recital.
His piano and violin works are marvelous
