    A surprise - a modern tonal composer whose music is upbeat. I really liked these. Thank you.

    Very crisp set. He was also great pianist not only conductor and he wrote beautiful compositions for orchestra and piano (regretfully not that prolific but because primary job was performing others)

    The melody to No. 1 sounds like it could be from a piano concerto.

    Thanks for this! Svetlanov is an underrated composer. Also I really like how he concluded the last prelude with the theme from the first one at 20:35

    Wonderful set of works, inventive, touching, striking and charming. I will have to try his other works and also listen to his conducting. Thanks again for another gem !

    It says on the svetlanov website,that there are 24 preludes, but all i could ever find was the scores and some performances of the first 12. Do you know if the rest is unpublished?
    By the way, the same performances have been (originally?) uploaded on a different channel called russianhollywood, and some time ago another channel put up some of the recordings with score, which were removed only a few weeks later. Just wanted to let you know, dont know if thats important.

    • @fyrexianoff
      @fyrexianoff  4 года назад +2

      thanks for the heads up, probably his works are still very protected by the foundation. The ones uploaded by Russian Hollywood is still available, split in 12 videos.

    He was a great conductor, but his music is about nothing, talentless, very graphomanic without any natural ideas and music materials. It's full of subconscious borrowing and replication from other composers, especially Rachmaninov, but with no a single good melody line. His harmony from 19 century, but not that great, it flat and boring.

      Hi, are you a professional composer? Do you have your own music that we could listen to in RUclips? Maybe we will enjoy your great music instead that talentless?
