Boris Petrov (piano, 1988)
Everybody's going on about the 5th Prelude, but I'm utterly agog at the 4th Fugue. That piece is incredible!
All of these pieces are pretty amazing :D
Prelude No. 5 starts at 6:42
Enjoy!
The fifth prelude is utterly stunning!
And then comes the fugue... with the return of the prelude. Gasp.
It's a toccata to my ears. A fabulous tour de force.
Ugh, the rhythm is wrong right in the beginning.
Yeah, too many people do rubato with rhythms that just have to be tight or they'll confuse the listener. Here, at least, it doesn't mangle the music.
I know!!!! Aggh! In the first part of the first prelude, those bars that go to 4/4 are still treated as 3/4. Makes me wince.
it is not rubato. It's just neglecting the change of meter
old European school?....no counting!!
Слова, слова...
А где ваша музыка? Что? Нет её?
Флярковский останется, я считаю, а вот вы?...
Discovering this piano music jewels!
5th prelude is Scriabinesque
Can't say enough about that 5th prelude. I am learning it slowly but those later pages are pretty insane!

Remarkable.
Wow! These are gems especially the 5th! That prelude is on fire!
from my side think that all the pieces are amazing bec very unique and impressive surprise with there different themes and ideas....i appreciate all of them....unfortunately very unknown....
Great piece! Thanks for sharing...
6:36...amazing. So late Romantic, but yet so 20th century (which may or may not overlap)...
It is a pity that this pianist doesn't observe the rhythm written right in the first page...
I love these. I don't know why you don't hear of these more often!
That second prelude and the fugue (V) are fantastic!
Beautiful triumphant music
Cool!
Very interesting indeed !
Oh. My. God. No 5 is crazy.
Very much like Zaderatsky; I wonder if they knew each other, and I wonder if this was in emulation of Zaderatsky's Preludes andFugues.
nice
Wonderful!
