    After not being able to find a more controlled racket than my trusty Head PT10 mids , I finally found its modern replacement!!! I bought two of the Gravity Pros and no customisation needed. Added Alu power at 20/19 (44 / 42 pounds) a head worm dampener smartsorb: and it’s a magic wand!!!!! Thanks again for your review. You sold me on it!

    Great review. I’m trying to decide which gravity to use. I have the Gravity MP coming this weekend to demo. I’m 41 years old and currently using the pure drive but it’s giving me some arm/wrist issues so I want a more comfort racquet. I have trouble deciding if the MP, Tour, or Pro would be right for me.

    Hi Luca, my current racquet is the Head Youtek Graphene Speed pro 18x20 from 2013. I have it strung with tecnifibre black code at 52 pounds. Would the gravity pro play similarly to that racquet? Would the string and tension setup you mentioned do the same? Thanks in advance.

    Luca - do a review on MP XL please. I am curious as your thoughts on it. It feels like a cheat code from the baseline and on serve. Dead serious. I use both Pro and XL and can’t decide which is my go to. I love them both.

    Nice review! Played several months with the previous version, absolutely loved it and still have it in my bag, but can't manage to be consistent on my topspin OHBH. All other shots were great. Currently trying to return to a smaller headsize for my backhand but miss the feel of this one.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +4

      Unfortunately, if you struggled to generate consistent spin with the 360+, there won't be a major improvement with this one. Yes, it's a little more maneuverable, but not much, so the same issues you had back then will probably still arise.
      A racket that's flown under the radar but is a bit of a hidden gem is the Auxetic Prestige MP. Smaller head size than the Gravity and similar feel.

    Amazing review as always! I finally got to try the gravity MP, and although it feels very similar to my V, core, pro 100, I really liked it. It could be a potential switch for me, I only felt a little bit unstable when playing big hitters, I think some weight at 3& 9 will make the raquet play really well. When you customized yours, did you just add it to the handle?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +2

      Thanks Bruno! Glad you liked the racket. That's a pretty seamless transition from the Pro 100. I try to do as little customization when reviewing stock rackets, so yes, for the MP, it was only a leather grip.
      That said, I played around with the previous MP quite a bit and weight at 3 and 9 made that frame absolutely amazing. Any swing weight between 325 and 330 seemed to be the sweet spot there.

    I bought a Shift 300. It’s been recent so I still can’t say if it will be my racket of choice. I’m going to try different strings and tensions.
    I’m a baseliner who hits with topspin and a one handed backhand.
    In theory a 95-98 inch frame is better for a one handed backhand .
    So, how would you compare the Shift with the Gravity Pro in terms of spin, feel, control an overall quality?
    I would like to love the Shift but these reviews like this one makes you second guess or brings on a dilemma or temptation.
    I usually whip my racket so heavy rackets give me a bit of trouble though.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад

      It sounds like the Shift will be much better for you. It's a much quicker racket through the air (quicker than the 99 square inch head size would suggest), whereas the Gravity Pro is noticeably slower.

      Thank you! They are perfect rackets to compare head to head. In terms of precision and control they're both very similar and absolutely elite. The big difference is going to come in swing speed; the Gravity is slower and the Blade faster but when you do get the Gravity up to speed, it's much more powerful.

    Please help. I'm about to order this racket but I've seen some videos saying that it's a heavy racket. I am using right now the head TIS6 which is super light is this gonna be way too heavy? The reason I wanted to get this is because of the new technology And because the beam is only 20 mm. The one on the TIS6 is way too thick and gets in the way of my backhand slices. Should I still order it? Is there anything I can do about the heaviness maybe give a little weight towards the back? Or is there a different racket similar to this one that is lighter? Thanx so much!!!

    First off... love your reviews. Couple of questions for you if you don't mind. Do you think the Gravity Pro can block back returns as well as the Radical Pro? And in your opinion, would someone with a one handed backhand be able to gel with the Gravity Pro? One more question. How does the Gravity Pro serve compared to rackets like the Radical Pro or V14 Pro Staff 97 which I'm used to playing with? Thanks a lot, and keep up the great reviews!

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Absolutely the Gravity can block back returns very well; it's extremely stable. I've never developed an adequate one handed backhand but it does seem to be one of those rackets that's tough to use with a one-hander. It's not very whippy so if you flick your wrist through contact it won't be ideal.
      The Gravity is more controlled than the Radical and a bit more controlled than the Pro Staff (but less friendly than both).

      We don't have any confirmation from Head, but what I can say is that I test A TON of the 360+ Pro in hopes of finding a couple under 332 and pretty much every single one came in at or over the 334 mark (with some pushing mid 340s). With the new version, we've tested 5 different frames strung with different set-ups and they averaged out to 330, with the highest at 333. I think they've lowered target swing weight by 3-4 points and that the spec tolerance range is less severe.

I like a classic feel and control and i have a one handed backhand. The smalller head size of the Pro Staff appeals to me but the low RA and thin beam of the Gravity Pro appeals to me. Which would you recommend?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +1

      If you want a current racket with the closest feel to the Pro Tour 280, this is it. If you're looking for a more modern, spin-friendly experience, and quite a bit more maneuverability on that one handed backhand, you can't go wrong with the 97. They're both fantastic and worth a demo if you can.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад +1

      To be honest, these are too different to compare but are both fantastic in their own right. Obviously the gravity will be more stable than the pure drive, but the pure drive is still a remarkably stable racket for something so light. At this point I would say demo the two and it will be pretty easy to figure out which one you mesh with because they are so different.

    Great review. Just wondering how the new Gravity Pro compares the the Head Pro Tour 2.0 (my current racket of choice)? In the video you mention the PT280 so if the Gravity Pro is similar in feel then thinking of making the switch. I love the Pro Tour 2.0 but sometimes find it a bit too demanding (basically not good enough) so was thinking the Gravity Pro would be a slightly more user friendly Pro Tour 2.0? Only consern I have is the manoeuvrebily of the Gravity Pro as I’ve used one in the past and have found it a little sluggish. Think it’s the head shape as I find the Pro Tour 2.0 easier to swing despite being 10g heavier and same balance. Would adding a leather grip to the Gravity Pro help it feel less sluggish? Thanks for your help.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад

      I have to say the feel is really similar. I haven't played with the 2.0 (only the 280 and 630), and I know that the 2.0 doesn't have Twaron, but I'm assuming beyond that it's probably very similar. There is a really magical pop in the sweetspot that you just don't get with most rackets. To me the Gravity Pro is basically a modern version of a Pro Tour 280. It's more forgiving, more powerful and more spin-friendly but still has most of the classic elements of a frame like that.
      It's a more sluggish racket than average, that's its biggest downside. You can add a leather grip to make it more headlight which could make it feel whippier, but you're still adding weight so take that with a pinch of salt. The head shape is what makes it so special in lots of ways, but it's also the main reason it's slower than other player's frames. That's unfortunately never going to change.
      I know I just threw out a lot of info there but I hope you get the gist 😅

    • @taropb
      @taropb Год назад

      Thanks for the detailed response and that’s exactly what I wanted to hear about the Gravity Pro. It reassures my initial thoughts on it and looks like this will be my next racket. The Pro Tour 2.0 is very similar to the 280 / 630 but just a little bit stiffer and a slightly lower swing weight making it a bit more user friendly. Which I like but need something even more user friendly than the 2.0 so looks like it’s the Gravity Pro. Wish I was good enough to just use the 280 / 630 as they’re such nice frames. Thanks for all your help and keep up the great work with the reviews.

    Im a 3.0 -3.5 player (playing for 2,5 years, once a week just with a friend - no competitive yet).
    33year old male.
    I like to hit big from the baseline more, than rushing through the net.
    I’m trying to play with spin but I’m not the best spin player of my technique. So if I try to hit winners, I often shoot em too flat and they are going too long - out.
    I’m actually playing the 2023 head extreme mp, because I thought „if I’m not good enough to generate spin with a good technique, maybe the extreme mp can help me with it.
    But now I’m thinking, maybe I need a more control friendly racket.
    I’m thinking of the speed or the gravity line.
    But I don’t know which is better for me and which model i should take (MP, Tour, Pro of gravity or speed)

      I’m a pretty similar player on my journey of finding a racket. Of the ones I’ve tested so far (Radical MP, Radical Pro, Gravity Tour, Extreme MP, Ezone 100, Percept 97) the Gravity Tour was a standout winner in terms of feel and control. I had way more confidence with it which helped me keep the ball in better as my technique improved. The next best were the Extreme MP and Radical MP but I didn’t feel that they were as forgiving.
      I’d recommend testing them back to back every 15 minutes or so to see which you like best!

      I was wondering when people would start asking that question... In tennis, control has TRADITIONALLY been looked at as soft directional control - basically the ability to guide a ball where you want it to go not contingent on spin - but nowadays, spin is obviously used to control powerful groundstrokes so yes, spin definitely is a part of control. Still, when most people talk about control in tennis, they're still referring to the more traditional control, and I think I'll keep it that way in my reviews for now.

    Dang it, I've come back to this old video because I am a 360+ GPro user that could use a little more maneuverability, but I am waffling between an upgraded Gravity and a Boom Pro. I need a comparison video, please!

      I'll add it to the list, but it probably won't be for a bit of time!

    How does this compare to the new Pro Staff X? I really like the X, to my surprise -- great feel, good power, versatile. I would think the X has more power, and a bit less control?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад

      The X has quite a bit more power, and the Gravity Pro a lot more control. They are both very solid and stable, and both lack similarly in maneuverability.

    what do you think about players with 1 handed backhand with gravity pro?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  Год назад

      From what I know about 1 handed backhands (mine is atrocious), players usually like a more whippy/manoeuvrable frame. This won't be ideal, but it won't be that bad.

    I have 2 of the previous version, both matched at 312gr unstrung, love them, the feel , the power and the control. The only issue is that you have to be prepared to handle them for a long match, the weight can be demanding and will not give back easy points, specially on defense when you are tired

      Thank you! The 280 is the only true 90s Head frame I know but I'm always monitoring the classifieds for more. Thanks for the feedback, means a lot to hear positive things.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver

      If you are able to handle the extra static weight then, yes, I think it's even better, but it doesn't NEED it like some rackets do because it's already so stable stock.

    I was really happy with the review until you said you are a solid 4.0... I thought that was solid 4.5, but now I'm scratching my head thinking, maybe I'm not the 4.5 I thought I was but a soft 4.0😢

    I tried the Gravity Pro 2021 and it was so demanding for me ( I am intermediate player over 40y of age). If you have good body movements and able to generate your own power, this racquet might be good for you! But if you want help from the racquet, then look somewhere else as this racquet will make bad shots when you are in off-position and looking for help from the racquet.
