@@marionarda2790 may I ask why? Cuz I think that while their marriage was difficult in the beginning, When they got it sorted out, their love was strenghtened even further. Carghs forever!
Mrs Patmore did Mrs Hughes a MASSIVE favour before the wedding when she sussed out what Mr Carson wanted from the marriage. She did a bundle there and Mr Carson appreciated it very much.
I really think this courtship is so sweet. I came late to Downton Abbey. In fact it was the episode where the servants went to the seashore. It was the end where Mr Carson and Mrs. Hughes walked into the water and their little chat going into the water was deeply touching and pulled me into the Downton family. The scene was so beautifully done as they all are.
This is when I knew that Carson was so in love with Mrs. Hughes. He found out she did not have cancer and he was singing while polishing the silver. He's such a staunchy old Englishmen that he was always afraid to admit he had any feelings at all let alone that he was completely besotted with this woman. Oh well, they got married eventually.
"Did you tell him?" "I'd prefer to say, I put him out of his misery." "Dashing away with a smoothing iron." "Dashing away with a smoothing iron." "Dashing away with a smoothing iron." "Dashing away with a smoothing iron, she stole my heart away." Out of his misery is not how I'd put it Mrs. Patmore. Mr. Carson is a giddy as a school boy with an ice cream 🍦 playing by the seashore.
Tbh i always loved the downstairs storylines more and think it schould have been the main focus for the show. Also they could have potrayed the upstair people more realistic. They werent that...friendly as we may think 😅
I think how they got away with the friendliness and down to earth nature of the upstairs was Cora being American. She wasn't aristocratic or snobby and brought those values with her which rubbed off on her daughters and gradually her husband as you see him soften as the series goes on from him being snobbish in the beginning. The introduction of Mrs. Crawley who is from a middle class background also softens them up with her down to earth nature. The Dowager and even Carson showed disdain for her when she arrived. The series tried to display their snobbish side as much as they could; The Dowager is quite rude if you remove the humour from her quips, and how they treated Tom in the beginning.... Also several visitors to Downton dinners showed their snobbery. Rose's father in law was the worst of all. As was her mother. They showed that Downton was softened by Cora and Mrs. Crawley.
The show would've been more interesting with more downstairs stories and less of the Mary/Edith pettiness and rich-people drama caused by Robert being a stubborn idiot with everything finance-related.
This is when the ship for Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes began for me. Side note he has a nice singing voice
I shipped them since the beginning. Then he proposed. And in season 6 I stopped shipping them
I just love these two.
Well it was his profession at one time, as one half of The Cheerful Charlies.

@@kunkkufani because in season 6 Carson was insufferable . Including to her

“She stole my heart away…” Oh, she most certainly did!!!!
I love this scene! Just Carson being so happy that Mrs. Hughes is all right 💕
Lovely ❤
So do I.

So funny how Ms Patmore is a go between those two off and on about a wide range of issues, some rather delicate
It's Mrs not ms
@@littlebigman5791 Thank you!🥰
lol she's their unpaid relationship counselor
What a lovely couple . Years working together then they reveal their true feelings. It was so sweet. Love them together.
I love Seeing how Happy Carson was, knowing that Mrs Hughes wasn’t Dying 🥹🥹🥹🥹🤭🤭🤭
Did you catch her reaction to him? I almost choked up with her ❤
I think that the easy friendship between Mrs Hughes and Mrs Patmore is one of the most endearing things in this series. It’s rare and beautiful.
Loved the romance between Mr Carson and Mrs Hughes, a deep and meaningful relationship. It gives us all a bit of envy I think
My favorite clip of all time! "Dashing away at the smoothing iron"!
Love Mrs Patmores line of "I put him out of his misery" nice one
Yes finally! Now all we need is the proposal and we're all set

The best couple in DA 💘

Which is why Mrs. Patmore's response to Mrs. Hughes is so funny--like she killed an animal to relieve its physical pain/suffering.
Carson is an amazing singer!
So heart touching 🥺❣️..please keep adding more scenes like this here ❣️❣️..I love this channel
Oh, this is so sweet!
Lovely.
Honestly, they could have never been married and this would still work. It's clear they love each other, whether it's romantic or not.
They were my favorite couple.
I wonder if that's one of the songs Carson sang when he was one of The Cheerful Charlies.
I’ve shipped them since season 1.
COOL

I was thinking of that. The downstairs people seem more spirited than the upstairs.
