4:22 Windows and manufacturers show memory speed on MT/s (mega-transfers per second) instead of MHz because VRAM is dual data rate so for example for a 20Gbps GDDR6 module it would mean 1250MHz*2=2500MT/s
This whole MT/s thing is just masked advertising BS. Double Data Rate RAM has been measure via Mhz since the beginning, and it wasn't until DDR5 failed to meet full specification, that they switch to advertising as MT/s. This is why DDR4 3200 *Mhz still rivals DDR5 6000 *MT/s
the fact that a community project did what nvidia couldn't while they keep whining about the nvidia control panel being useless on wayland and they can't do anything about it, is just crazy. mad props to the creator of LACT 💪🏻
one cool thing about this tool is also your ability to do the exact opposite. I had an office PC with a very underpowered PSU in it, so I used LACT to limit my GPU's power consumption. this allowed me to play games quite well considering the circumstances. A niched scenario, I know. But worth mentioning!
If your talking about the animated gifs i just get them off a search engine which for me is duckduckgo, i just search pixel art gifs lol If your talking about my actual wallpapers on my desktop i have a link to my github with all of them in the description :)
It is nice that you can use it with Nvidia cards tho for AMD card I think sticking to CoreCTRL is still much better option but on the other hand, it also feels like CoreCTRL is not really getting any updates... or is that just me?
Hey, did you play EA Sports FC 24? (any Fifa?). On EA support chat i said that i switched from Windows to Arch Linux and asked if i can run Ea Sports FC 24 offline and disable anti-cheat and got response: "Yes, it is possible to run the game offline without anti-cheat, but you'll need to use specific mods or tools designed for this purpose. But we do not recommend this as it could lead to a ban on the account. For example, there are offline launchers and anti-cheat toggler mods available that allow you to disable Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and run the game in offline mode" So do you know any launcher that can do that? (I can't find them in google for some reason, im stupid or i don't know how to google)
@@shadyKING057 fc 24 doesn't use EAC anymore, it's the EA kernel level anticheat, don't think you can turn that off, so my answer is idk as I don't play EA sports games

From lacts website of why there isn't a Flatpak Why is there no AppImage/Flatpak/Docker? Unfortunately, due to the nature of the app that has 2 parts (daemon running as root and a GUI running as a user), none of the popular universal formats fit it very well. This means that the LACT daemon can't run as Flatpak.
No, the OC settings are loaded by the windows amd software, so if the software is not there they won't be loaded. It's not like cpu OC, where settings are applied in the bios.
@Sezamn but i can't find any info how it works... I can set the core frequency to be relative to its usage on cores... but what about volts will it automatically give a sufficient amount? Do you have any tutorials on how to use this?
@@torokmark7402 I did not see voltages options when using nvidia on LACT you can only lower the power wattage, maybe that will be added in the future tho, check LACTS GitHub To see if that is gonna be a thing maybe

Will this software be available in flatpack someday?
No. Even if it did, the service will not be in Flatpak, only the GUI.

Are there any tools for overclocking CPU on Linux?(I know that it's possible thru BIOS, but this is much more comfortable)

still close to useless with nvidia, like all other such applications. i wonder if one day we'll be able to undervolt under linux.
On nvidia maybe with NVK in mesa it might be possible someday
If this is another Nvidia video, im leaving. 😁
