We need to see some real data on thermal efficiency improvements over the stock units. I wouldn't write off Mishimoto just yet, they are a bigger company, have access to mass production equipment and processes, which should bring competitive priced product. With the z400 coming online, it's a good time for anyone producing VR30 go fast parts.
Mishimoto is a motorsport cooling company first so if anyone can improve on the factory intercoolers then Mishimoto can. If the factory intercoolers are like the factory heat exchanger then there's plenty of room for making improvements. On a hot day I can see between 20-30 degree CACT and CAT. It would be beneficial for even a stock 3.0t to a tuned 93 octane car to see compressed air temps closer match the general running temp of compressed air coolant temp. Would mean lower CAT which means the motor could run with more timing from the get go. Not massive gains but everything counts as even small gains can cost big money per hp gained.
For refrigerated (A/C) intercooling, there is the Killer Chiller, Forced Induction Interchiller (via Australia), and Active Interchiller (FI modeled theirs from this U.S. original).
These should be in the convo about intercooling.

Yea this is definitely a full send mod … most us who are doing highway pulls and just having fun on backroads should prob pass on this one especially for that amount of money … If 10 second cars have been reliable with the stock intercoolers why even bother .. none the less thank you for the info boost !

Will heat soak just as any turbo car in traffic but will cool faster once it's rolling. You know like when it's stupid hot outside and you in traffic then floor it... car is sluggish, 5 min later of driving on the high way... car is good. These lovelies will cancel that effect faster... way faster if not reduce it dramatically.

Nope. Same engine as the Q60. But tuner comps will jump on it to tune it. And will make lots of power reliability parts for us. Might have better gaskets for the turbos, but I doubt it.

IAT is the measurement air temp of air coming into the car from the front. It's what it is depending on outside conditions per season/climate. The intercooler/s on a boosted car are there to reduce the compressed air temp that was elevated from the turbo charger or supercharger. Naturally aspirated vehicle motors don't have intercoolers though reducing the incoming air temp on a hot day would mean more dense air, more power for many motors which means more fuel would need to be added. Anyways, IAT is less of the cause for high CAT which leads to knock, pre detonation and high cylinder charge temps. The HX and Intercoolers revolve more around compressed air temp (CAT) rather than intake air temp (IAT) as you draw attention to in your video. Just a clarification for people that won't know any better and then repeat IAT and intercooler performance.

Personally, I'm more interested in water/meth injection bc you can gain 40+ HP from cooler IATs, AND get steam cleaning for the intake valves, pistons, and plugs.

Upgrade the high and low fuel pressure systems and run ethanol. E47. Requires less boost, and makes more power.
