You sir I believe have just answered a major question I've had for about a month. My q50 (granted it's summer time) would be letting off slot of heat.. the gauge says normal.. but after 15minutes of driving most components under hood are warm or hot as hell.. I can in fact feel the heat while driving on my legs.. Also, the engine doesn't cool down as im use to it.. it could be sitting for over an hour at night with hood up and seem like I just drove it 200+ miles... All my mechanic friends say there's nothing wrong I disagree.. tell me I'm not paranoid.
Wow man, I just bought a 2018 Q50 and have been looking around for information on tuning and performance mods. I have been an American V8 fanboy for most of my life. My favorites are Ford 5.0's, old and new and Hemi's. I have love for Chevy LT and LS, I had a 96' LT1 Pontiac Firebird for a short time. More mustangs than anything else. I'm currently building a 393 stroker for my 92' mustang coupe with an 03' cobra independent rear end. Anyway, back to the point. You seem to be a great source for a wealth of information. I thank you and have subscribed!
I personally purchased the AAM performance HX for my '16 RS400 AWD. Very high quality fabrication, it was so attractive, i almost didn't want to install it! Works wonders, engine never gets heat soaked.
Honestly RWD seems to be the best all around, most owners would agree. I personally chose AWD to give something new a try. I don't dislike the X drivetrain but with RWD it is more suitable for auto X, sliding etc
Excellent and you cover pretty much all the mods available! I know there is a fuel pump which is around $1,500.00 bucks, would like to see and hear some about that! Great job!!
What a great find. I'm on the 2 year plan to get a q60 and getting all my ducks in a row. Your videos have be more than helpful. Thanks for taking the time to help out other ppl.
Good stuff. Thanks.. Fast Intentions full downpipes are 3" also. 😉. Seb has sent me my second Tweaked map file. Uploaded and have data logged one run so far. He wants 3 in each octane. That will be fun lol. My car runs so well now. All my mods work so well together. Research and spend the money from the get go. It pays off. Oh, FYI Seb has not heard anything about EcuTek cracking the TCU.. Rumors I guess. Not sure on Launch Control for the Q50/Q60 yet. Some buzz there too.
New subscriber here! Thanks for all the vids (been watching for months) that you and #Boost In Motion had been putting together. I finally got my self a 2019 Q50 RS in Iridium blue.
Question for anyone that owns the cars with this engine: Are there any known reliability issues? And is it effecting a percentage of the cars out there? For example, Toyota Tundras, while great reliable trucks, have a couple issues with the secondary air injection system/pump, and cam tower leaks. While these issues haven't effected all trucks, there are a percentage of owners including myself that have dealt with either one or the other, or both Reason I'm asking is I am interested in the new Z, and it will have the engine. Want to start thinking what some specific preventative maintenance I might need to consider doing so to cover the reliability side before I consider tuning. Thanks in advance.
Coolant control valves seem to go pretty quickly, if your hard on your car, more than average that is. DDS equipped chassis's will most certainly see failures of strut/shocks around 90-100k miles, no avoiding it if your VR30 is your daily, like me
As far as reliability goes I've owned on five infiniti's with my current Red sport 400 being the only turbo models I've ever owned, the VR30 is just as reliable as the NA VQ engines that came before the VR.
Great video but my only suggestion would have been to show more examples of the parts you were talking about in your B-roll footage like you did with the HKS BOVs.

I see my 2016 Q50 has an air to water inter-cooler, the turbo its self, other than the oil for the bearing, is it also water cooled?
Yes
@@EnthusiastPOV Ok thanks, i couldnt find any info on it, now i dont have to worry about the turbo oil getting cooked wearing out seals once i turn the car off, i wondered why i had 2 radiator caps, i thought the engine cooling and turbo cooling was connected together
Radiator and heater exchanger cooling :)
35min to install lower down pipes dawg who did you go to he's a wizard I started and said fuck this paid someone to do it
What does your gas mileage look like for a normal week of driving?
Just got my 17 Q60 3.0 last week, your videos definitely influenced me to get one and helping out the direction to head in. Gas mileage been crazy this first week due to my “spirited” driving but that should change. Lol
@@YuhBoiVon congrats on the car! Good luck getting better gas mileage. When I'm driving a lot of the time it says anywhere between 20 and 40-60 mpg but my average is 18.3 because got dammit I can't stop revving the engine and gunning it! It's such a fun car lol. Eventually I just said screw it, I'll buy gas cuz I have the need for speed
So I can have ams down pipes on my 18 q50 with out voiding the warranty?
Down pipes void warranty
Thoughts on a tial qr bov ?
Doesn’t work on a Q
So the system is a complete vta ( vent to atmosphere )
Necesito saber cómo ponerlo atiempo
is VR30 an open deck?? or a closed deck??
Open
Everyone is raving about the 400z with the VR30tt. The VQ 370z twin turbo’s are getting 650-750 hp what can we expect from the VR30tt. Maybe 850-950 hp?
Yes theres a tuning company partnering with ams looking to accomplish 1000hp
Not part of your video but could you explain what the fuel pump does like is it only e 85 or can I put pump gas as well
Midwest Hoonigan I truly appreciate that my good man thanks I’ll stay tuned
The red sport has 2 heat exchangers
You’re misinformed. It has 1, just two pumps.
Lots of people use the JB4 because it doesn't flash the ECU and violate the warranty.
Been trying to research if the VR30 has forged internals, and a closed deck block, but I can't find anything. If someone has a good link I would be grateful
It’s an open deck and no forged internals.
@@EnthusiastPOV thank you
Hi, do you have your stock coolant tanks to sell?
Machin FPV. I DO
Are all AMS upgrades covered under warranty? New to the channel and I like it so far. Keep the videos coming!
@@EnthusiastPOV well they dont know you did an ecutek tune tho right?
