Thanks Mike! My many hats before medical retirement included 25 years in a Australian Govt building construction fire test and research facility, and 40 years as a fire-fighter. That fire door did its stuff with the Intumescent seals. Another thing to look at are the penetrations of slabs where fire collars / bags are fitted. We did am comparison of many brands and it was interesting to see how effective or ineffective some are. A portable building (portacabin in UK?) in a building site went up in flames near us and it was interesting to see that the testing we did mirrored what we saw on the site. Cheers

Another great video Mike. Very informative. I remember doing similar switch rooms when I was doing all the Tesco new builds 20 or so years ago. I’d love to go back to the industrial installs like that with all the big switch gear, ladder rack and huge cables!! Proper job satisfaction.

That office looks like a good reason for a decent pyro job....
Reminds me of a printing plant in Stuttgart that went up in flames; the heat was so intense even the structural steelwork was just twisted metal. Cause was thought to be a faulty forklift charger.

Great video, also obviously the material will not be Up to standard after the fire but the majority of what was in the lower part of the room will be able to work again. For a 7 hour fire I'm surprised at what's still intact from the fire. Also no concrete isn't really resistant to fire, a lot of tests have to be done to know if a building is still structurally sound after a fire

Wow that was one raging inferno by the looks of it. Just goes to show how resilient SWA is. I would imagine that would have been 90 degree thermosetting to have withstood that level of heat for so long and still get good I.R. Results despite the sheathing being distorted. That panel looked a bit awkward to get that earth cable bolted up but you did a great job as always mate. Keep the great content coming mate 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
