    Now I remember, definitely someone had imported the Time PC into Saudia Arabia's market.
    It was a beautiful mall of PC shops, of which 90% of the shops have closed.
    We also had the PC Zone magazine, I took courage and bought one issue in 97, featuring Destruction Derby2 on the cover.
    Thanks for your work.

    Interesting. The pc case cover opens just like a baby AT case but the case itself is an ATX

      Yes, seems specifically made for micro atx!

    Great video. I have two Time PCs from 1999 though one of the reload discs is unfortunately corrupted. Cant seem to find the reload discs you found in the archive. I'm hoping some people might upload some reload cds after seeing this video if they still have them 🤞

      Cool, I saw some time stuff on archive.org. Might not have been right. Since foung Vogons.org definatley have the restore for the k6-2 though not tried it - vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=2116&menustate=0

      Ah thank you. Almost the one I was looking for my corrupted disc is for J03GB2. The Ghost image file may even be identical to the one on my disc as the file size is the same. I'll give that a go. Thanks again.

    I have one of those Compaq Camaro boards, and the MiTAC/TRIGON 5114Vu BIOS will flash using Uniflash. Unfortunately it brings up some corrupted BIOS settings under IRQ, but it's stable in windows. There are many jumpers on the board to configure for the K6 2-550, the documentation can be found on the Retroweb. The Compaq BIOS unfortunately isn't online, nobody has uploaded it, so if you decide to flash be sure to make a back-up of the original.

      This could be related to my comment about some prebuilts " Tagging " the motherboard to the modem causing it to not boot if it wasn't installed . The 1st thing these machines did on 1st boot was usually to ( xall up & " register " your warranty ) on there system .

    I remember them well. Leonard Nimoy was the face of Time computer's for a while. I wonder if all of their secrets are buried with him? 🤔

      Cool, sounds like your machine was a few years later, this would probabably have been the generation before and even then k6-2 was stretching the generation before that!

    Might be worth trying the K6-2 550 at either a higher voltage or 500MHz. Apparently they could run unstable at stock in some boards (especially if the board has bad Vdroop).

    My first build was a k6-2 400, on an MSI board, i've forgotten what model number the board was but I still have it and the processor somewhere.

    you probably need a better heatsink for that cpu anything over 233mhz runs pretty hot, i remmember going to a computer store to buy a asaka silver mountain (copper heatsink that was silver plated with a beefy fan on top) cpu cooler for Cyrix MII 300 to make it run better and thats just a PR rating actual speed was only 233mhz.

    • @66mhzbrain
      @66mhzbrain  4 месяца назад

      Was the heatsink that came with the machine. The piii has a coolermaster

    • @danthompsett2894
      @danthompsett2894 4 месяца назад +1

      @66mhzbrain that might fit, I remember some socket piii socket Coolers where backward compatible with socket 7

      I remember the Akasa Silver Mountain cooler. However that was a cooler for AMD K7 (XP) CPU's among others. Overkill for socket 7

    If it helps I've had both " Time " & some "Tandon" machines the were " tagged " to the original modem card so they wouldn't boot unless it was installed .
