Agree on all fronts! This wipe is absolutely sick. I started two weeks late, which is usually an absolute death-sentence, but this wipe I'm actually having really fun raids! It's a-m-a-z-i-n-g being able to use trader 1 / refurbished scav guns and actually feel like you can aim and have a chance to kill things without relying mostly on luck. I've been using the heck out of the PP-19, Saiga 9, and an STM that I picked up off a player-- lots of rolling around with the civilian bolty and an SMG / PCC. Headshotting people with 9mm (either with the full auto PP / Kedr spray, or semi-auto tapping with the PCCs) has been so satisfying. I also feel like a lot of regular people are playing this wipe-- despite my late start I'm running into mostly lower-level people (almost all under lvl 20, and lots of 5-15) where in previous wipes I felt like being more than a few days late left you up against people rocking stronk kits immediately. There have been so many more good raids where I at least survive and get quests done vs previous wipes where I felt like I was just being mowed down by meta ammo constantly within a week. Also: special shout out for the snow. I LOVE THE SNOW! The new aesthetic / ambiance is amazing, and I love the way it slightly changes the gameplay as well. It's really cool being able to see further on Woods, for example, due to the thinner vegetation. I'm absolutely loving the snow and hope that the rest of the seasons make it into the game soon!
I think that the modular armor helps Ceramic armors the most. Previously having the entire armor be one health resource and be penned based on that was a huge crippling thing that made using ceramic armors basically impossible. But now that you can swap the plates this isn't as big of a deal combined with the fact that plates stop all the blunt damage if they stop the round means that repairing ceramic plates will be more viable as well. Ceramic can finally be that cheap throwaway alternative for more protection.
@@termitreter6545 This is a bigger deal than people realize. you can swap a back plate with a front plate after a firefight by taking your armor off and literally just swapping the plates. Use that back plate as an extra front plate. Helps cuz you get a fresh plate for next firefight and can potentially save you since damaged armor is less likely to stop penetration.
As a veteran player myself, I've never been a pistol fan, found a glock suppressor early on and literally haven't stopped running with it. They feel so good. Stellar update from BSG.
This wipe feels so good so far, the vaulting and new recoil system’s feel good. As a solo player going in and feeling like I could actually out shoot a twosome with skill instead of hope and prayers is very satisfying.
It feels just a bit more like 2020 Tarkov combat or so, I actually fought so many duos and trios solo back then. It was difficult for sure, but so rewarding and skill based when you won. I hope Tarkov is going back into that direction, and the recoil seems like a good step.
You got me to try Tarkov again. And then I instantly remembered why I don't play Tarkov, as I died in less than half the time it took me to load the game, load the menu, load the map, sit in matchmaking, and load the map again.
I definitely agree. Recoil is better than ever, and the fact that good ammo isn’t readily available makes armor so much more valuable and actually useful, instead of as heavy decoration
I absolutely LOVE the recoil fix, it literally made me come back to EFT and actually enjoy being in gunfights! Before this recoil fix, I always felt like my guns were fighting me, now they behave how they suppose to. They can still fix the ridiculous ADS sound that can be heard from 15 meters tho. No gun ever makes an audible noise like that, if you shake a drum or box magazine it will make some noise but that's it really.
This feels like the first wipe where I can say I really enjoy Tarkov. It's my 3rd consecutive wipe, so it could also be playtime beginning to add up, but I feel that with the gunplay changes pvp actually feels intuitive.
The biggest change is that plate armor doesn't allow ANY damage through, which makes things like the PRESS armor excellent. I almost expect people to put Lvl 4 plates into it, if there's another armor with the same shape of plates. Probably Killa armor.
this wipe is a work of art, I was not optimistic about playing this game, but it is really fun. the new map is a thing this game needed a lot, a place for low levels or new players to finally peacefully learn mechanics of tarkov. Gun fights are finally rewarding and it does not feel like an 11 year old is operating the gun. BSG did a very good job with this update :)
In my experience the new map is far from peaceful, but that's why it's my favorite map. they should definitely make the same map for higher level players too so you are not blocked from playing the map once you hit the lvl20.
They should change the Ground Zero after lvl 20 lock, I think separating below and over lvl20 lobbies so you can still play it after lvl20 but don't ruin for the starters (i think this bc i like that map and it's fun)
I haven’t played Tarkov in a few wipes but checked it out for the first time and I’m loving it! I feel what you’re saying about the new recoil system. IRL I know how to shoot guns and am a good shot and it’s been cool for me to be able to ADS with iron sights and actually hit what I’m shooting at.
The recoil changes have been an absolute game changer for me, it brought me back to the game. When I used to play a few year ago I would avoid every fight because I knew I can't control my weapon, now I'm more confident and willingly engage in PvP.
addressing the first thing, I see ground zero as a great "you're starting middle of the wipe" area, which is good for people that actually have a life outside of this damn game
Dude I’m so glad someone finally said it! The snow is frickin incredible and it’s changed the game so much for me during the new wipe. Love your content, please don’t stop posting cause I listen to your videos on my long drives
Ground zero really is an amazing map for new players. I’m not technically a new player but I kinda am, as a I dabbled in this game for a month last year mainly playing woods and customs. But the experience on ground zero has been so much better, its super easy to navigate, no bush camping, tons of cover, always an extract within 5 minutes anywhere on the map and easy to understand where the choke points are that you are likely to run into players at. The woods/custom experience was so unenjoyable to learn compared to this map with all the bush camping snipers and long walks through areas with 0 cover.
I literally stayed up to 7 AM playing this. AMAZING WIPE. Its crazy how much something as little as vaulting changed the feel as the game. and most of the changed they made are really good.
those saiga shots REALLY made it seem like a real 9mm weapon instead of any other big caliber rifle its a small round fired from a big long barrel gun, it shouldnt have that much recoil guns feel so much more intuitive now, and as people mentioned they really seemed to have made them be supported on our shoulder instead of center mass
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk Literally what are you even getting butthurt over? A 7.62x51 Real friggin NATO is a big round in comparison to a 9mm that's smaller than your pinky finger.
I like the armor changes, it makes actual squad movement tactics more viable. If you can get to someones side theyre much less likely to tank your mag and whip around with a head, eyes shot
3:35 as a player with a hobby of learning about the military and their tactics, AND that plays FPS games religiously I will say, I only got into tarkov this wipe, but using my skill and knowledge has helped me drastically Once I got into the flow and playstyle of tarkov I was able to come up with my playstyle and have out played people using pistols against kitted weapons (for some reason its the only gun I can use effectively)
This wipe finally gave me a feel of direction for the game, a trajectory without all the complaints and bs. Finally feels like tarkov is going somewhere again.
This is the first wipe I’ve really played, and I love it, on ground zero I went in with an UNTAR, a gssh, no armour, and a small rig with about 5 slots and an MP5, a friend in my trio brought a level 3 vest for me We ran through the terra group hallway and got the science lab quest done, when I come back down the stairs there’s a man at the end of the car park hallway, so I run back up to take cover At this time another enemy appears at the main entrance A member of my trio peaks the man in the hallway and dies, I run down to the main foyer to join my remaining teammate- we’ve both taken several hits and need to heal, I cover him while he does, and while I’m healing he is shot and killed by the man at the entrance I kill the man at the entrance with my mp5 and sprint across to him, I grab his helmet, his AKS74u (which then lasted me for about 4 days because I managed to survive that long), his armour, backpack, and rig I prepare my new gear and I press down the hallway. Thankfully my friend that died had actually traded with him- I take his AK74m and run to the car park exit to the extract near the medical tent As I’m exiting the car park there’s lots of gunfire up the road, when I check there’s a man near the bus stop, I fire a burst from my stolen AK74M, he runs into the bus stop- he peaks me again and I put a bullet between his eyes Then- 200m away, barely a small smudge in my red dot- I see a man under the overhang of a building, i fire a short burst and see him run to cover- then his friend runs out to where he was…. Neatly positioning his head under my red dot, a single, stolen, BP 5.45x39 round flies through his brain, and i sprint to the extract That’s just one example of MANY exhilarating fights I’ve had so far Another being my second raid- wearing a stolen ratnik helmet and some PACA armour, trusty M4A1 in hand, and we pushed dorms- why? I don’t know I think someone had a task there- anyway, one of us gets “head eyes” from a scav outside, and we enter the middle floor Down the hall I see a backpack and fire sone roubds, it disappears and we move in, after emerging from a side room I see several silhouettes against the opposite doorway, I let rip with my M4 and duck into the hallway to reload, killing a scav below me as well My friend covers me as I sprint back out to the exterior stairs and we enter through the other side to check the bodies On the 2 PMCs I killed there was a strandhogg, a Korund with Lv5 armour, and a ULACH As well as an MCX with multiple mags of AP .300 blackout We managed to extract later and I had 11 kills, 2 PMCs 9 scavs The recoil feels really good- not too easy on larger rounds but not so tough that my arms feel permanently broken- and I’m loving this, my only issue is a lack of knowing where things are in the maps, and the fact that I can’t find any DAMN SALEWAS but I’m so far through prapors line that I’m unlocking things with his quests that I can’t even buy yet cos I’m only lv 9
I completely agree with basically everything you’ve said in this video. I had been disappointed and decided I was pretty much done after the last two wipes but I have the wipe a shot, as always, and have been freakin’ THRILLED. If BSG can keep moving things in this direction we are in a good place! Don’t fuck it up!!
I've gotta say, this some good recoil. It's the first time I've liked recoil in Tarkov. It's closer to other realism games, but it still has that 10% kick that a lot just don't have.
This is the best wipe since 2020 when the game blew up on twitch. I've been having a hard time so far but I love all the changes. My first raid with the snow I didn't even know it had been added yet so that came as a pleasant surprise.
I’m glad the recoil finally got changed seeing as how in the lore of Tarkov we are fully trained pmcs. It never made sense why we couldn’t control a 9mm and watch it climb to the sky when you needed to mag dumb someone
The less damage overall thing to armor comes from the new "HARD" Plates. Its unknown if its intended this way but if "HARD" Plate armor is hit with Low Pen Ammo for example Class 4 with M855, the Plate takes almost no damage and there is ZERO blunt damage transferd into the body.
The scary part of the snow is just how visible you are in it. Like without it you could blend into the enviroment and don't get me started on how dark the maps can get in broad daylight whenever something dips into the cloud shadows. But now? You will be spotted, everyone sticks out like a sore thumb, there is no dark dirt for you to blend into, you will be a moving shade upon a white blanket.
It's really a great wipe. I have almost no money, I kill lots of scavs and some PMCs, I die a lot with valuable stuff in inventory, but the game is still a whole lot of fun. I actually enjoy the suffering of EFT now. Before it was just tedious, now you know that you're just as deadly with an SKS picked up from some scav as the Gigachad Thundercock with a 1M+ M4. If only I could find all the items I need FIR when I actually need them for the quest, instead of finding dozens of them after the completion.
Another great update is the ability to check the user profile of the person that killed you! I must admit I used to call hacks when I died while in full sprint to a single hit from a Makarov, and then I checked the profile of my killer and I found a lvl 5 with 10% survival rate. "Good for you buddy, enjoy my loot! "
The recoil update NEEDED the armor update to work. You don't feel a difference, but there is a huge one. The biggest one is that if the ammo doesn't pen the plate, you don't get any blunt damage, meaning someone with crappy bullets can not overwhelm you to the point you just die out of blunt damage, as it was before. Furthermore, the armor underneath must be pierced once the plate is pierced. This leads to more prolonged firefights, which is very satisfying. It is also so good to have killed so many turbosweats that are level 30 on day 3 of the wipe; the ground is even now, their maxed kits mean shit. Now it is not possible to hide skill behind the attachments. Streamers will die a lot more.
I went to bed when it was green and grassy. I woke up to snow. Absolutely incredible! I feel like a kid waking up to the first snow. Woulda been so sick to see the blizzard leading up to it, but I'm still extremely happy about the snow.
If you havent tried it yet, mod up a STM-9 with a foregrip, an elcan/hybrid scope, and a big stick mag. You got a literal sewing machine. The bullet spread on the furthest target doesnt even leave the head
The recoil really does make the game more fun. The number of "What the hell Why didn't I kill him" fights have gone way down for me. And pistols do feel great. In the first three days of wipe, my Makarov was like a scalpel cutting through Ground Zero.
The biggest thing with the recoil change is the fact that it feels like your PMC is actually holding the gun correctly - the way the back end would rise after a couple rounds made it feel like you didn't have the stock actually in your shoulder. And the snow is more than just a texture change - there's places with less dense ground foliage that can be very impactful.
After much contemplating, I finally bought tarkov, aimlessly moved stuff around my stash for 30 minutes, upgraded the vents in my bunker, changed the AK for a pistol, put 4 magazines into my rig, found where the quests are, didn't find a button to accept them, picked scav, waited 5 minutes for a ground zero raid, found a lot of random loot, ran out to the street, got shot at, failed to vault over a cement roadblocker, got stuck on the feet of some metal fence, got killed and logged off when i saw my next scav was in 25 minutes.

Good point. Also front and back plates are seperate now.
It's nice to see you enjoying tarkov again dude. Hopefully they keep up the good work and keep you feeling good about the game.
Well, we have PvE now. Also SPT
I definitely agree. Recoil is better than ever, and the fact that good ammo isn’t readily available makes armor so much more valuable and actually useful, instead of as heavy decoration
Best wipe ever. I was addicted to Tarkov before but now I also love it. Playing it actually gives me satisfaction. 10/10
I love that the good ammo I may need is found mostly in raid. It gives you a better way to access the ammo you need.
I hadn’t touched this game in about a year and half and this wipe got me almost 200 hrs in already. Love the changes
I love the snow, it just gives a better aesthetic to the game and looks awesome, I also am going to be cosplaying Simo Hayha with a mosin now.
I hope snow stays as a thing outside of the IRL month of December/January
It’s crazy to think the game didn’t even have working audio just a year ago
You're dead on about the pistol thing. I cannot being to describe how I felt when I dropped a scav at 75 meters with a Grach on Ground Zero
BSG did such a good job this wipe. I’ve been off the game for about a year and a half now after I got kappa. Now it’s got me hooked again.
Through and through positive wipe🤯🤯🤯
those saiga shots REALLY made it seem like a real 9mm weapon instead of any other big caliber rifle
its a small round fired from a big long barrel gun, it shouldnt have that much recoil
guns feel so much more intuitive now, and as people mentioned they really seemed to have made them be supported on our shoulder instead of center mass
What makes a “caliber” “big”
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk Literally the size
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk lol
@@istvanbarath6333 yeah but what makes the “size” “big”?? Please answer or shut up if you don’t have one.
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk Literally what are you even getting butthurt over? A 7.62x51 Real friggin NATO is a big round in comparison to a 9mm that's smaller than your pinky finger.
i been trying to convince my firends to play for years and this wipe finally made them all start playing so thats awsome
This wipe is great came back after stopping in 0.12.3 and Oh boy I love this wipe. Thanks Nikita❤
Great Job BSG. Best wipe ever. Great video. Entertaining as always.
I genuinely didn't know they were adding snow so when I discovered it for the first time this wipe it was magical
I like the armor changes, it makes actual squad movement tactics more viable. If you can get to someones side theyre much less likely to tank your mag and whip around with a head, eyes shot
3:35 as a player with a hobby of learning about the military and their tactics, AND that plays FPS games religiously
I will say, I only got into tarkov this wipe, but using my skill and knowledge has helped me drastically
Once I got into the flow and playstyle of tarkov I was able to come up with my playstyle and have out played people using pistols against kitted weapons (for some reason its the only gun I can use effectively)
Thanks man. Didn't think when I woke up this morning that I'd want to play more but I'm going to check it out. Good luck in your raids
First time I have played Tarkov in over a year. Definitely enjoying it.
This wipe finally gave me a feel of direction for the game, a trajectory without all the complaints and bs. Finally feels like tarkov is going somewhere again.
This is the first wipe I’ve really played, and I love it, on ground zero I went in with an UNTAR, a gssh, no armour, and a small rig with about 5 slots and an MP5, a friend in my trio brought a level 3 vest for me
We ran through the terra group hallway and got the science lab quest done, when I come back down the stairs there’s a man at the end of the car park hallway, so I run back up to take cover
At this time another enemy appears at the main entrance
A member of my trio peaks the man in the hallway and dies, I run down to the main foyer to join my remaining teammate- we’ve both taken several hits and need to heal, I cover him while he does, and while I’m healing he is shot and killed by the man at the entrance
I kill the man at the entrance with my mp5 and sprint across to him, I grab his helmet, his AKS74u (which then lasted me for about 4 days because I managed to survive that long), his armour, backpack, and rig
I prepare my new gear and I press down the hallway. Thankfully my friend that died had actually traded with him- I take his AK74m and run to the car park exit to the extract near the medical tent
As I’m exiting the car park there’s lots of gunfire up the road, when I check there’s a man near the bus stop, I fire a burst from my stolen AK74M, he runs into the bus stop- he peaks me again and I put a bullet between his eyes
Then- 200m away, barely a small smudge in my red dot- I see a man under the overhang of a building, i fire a short burst and see him run to cover- then his friend runs out to where he was…. Neatly positioning his head under my red dot, a single, stolen, BP 5.45x39 round flies through his brain, and i sprint to the extract
That’s just one example of MANY exhilarating fights I’ve had so far
Another being my second raid- wearing a stolen ratnik helmet and some PACA armour, trusty M4A1 in hand, and we pushed dorms- why? I don’t know I think someone had a task there- anyway, one of us gets “head eyes” from a scav outside, and we enter the middle floor
Down the hall I see a backpack and fire sone roubds, it disappears and we move in, after emerging from a side room I see several silhouettes against the opposite doorway, I let rip with my M4 and duck into the hallway to reload, killing a scav below me as well
My friend covers me as I sprint back out to the exterior stairs and we enter through the other side to check the bodies
On the 2 PMCs I killed there was a strandhogg, a Korund with Lv5 armour, and a ULACH
As well as an MCX with multiple mags of AP .300 blackout
We managed to extract later and I had 11 kills, 2 PMCs 9 scavs
The recoil feels really good- not too easy on larger rounds but not so tough that my arms feel permanently broken- and I’m loving this, my only issue is a lack of knowing where things are in the maps, and the fact that I can’t find any DAMN SALEWAS but I’m so far through prapors line that I’m unlocking things with his quests that I can’t even buy yet cos I’m only lv 9
I completely agree with basically everything you’ve said in this video. I had been disappointed and decided I was pretty much done after the last two wipes but I have the wipe a shot, as always, and have been freakin’ THRILLED. If BSG can keep moving things in this direction we are in a good place! Don’t fuck it up!!
streets at night with snow is just soooo beautiful
I've gotta say, this some good recoil. It's the first time I've liked recoil in Tarkov. It's closer to other realism games, but it still has that 10% kick that a lot just don't have.
This video was a perfectly servicable review of the latest Tarkov patch.
Nikita will hear ppl are enjoying tarkov and he'll revert the changes, as we should only suffer xD
Pistols r one of my favorite changes with the recoil it’s like our character a trained pmc actually knows how a pistol works
Saiga Nine on Interchange is a beast when sneaking around!
Its unknown if its intended this way but if "HARD" Plate armor is hit with Low Pen Ammo for example Class 4 with M855, the Plate takes almost no damage and there is ZERO blunt damage transferd into the body.
that is actually very realistic! ruclips.net/video/nnm8IsU5M0c/видео.html
honestly that pistol recoil is insane. nothing like one IRL but im glad to see the recoil has been addressed in a positive way.
well well well
Pistols are actually quite good now, majority of my good raids started with me having nothing but a pistol and an extra mag.
That icepick out of a box is my dream every wipe
Looks like we need updated tier list on the guns and armor.
I totally agree and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
"and two ladies" wow got me feelin represented there :P
I went to bed when it was green and grassy. I woke up to snow. Absolutely incredible! I feel like a kid waking up to the first snow. Woulda been so sick to see the blizzard leading up to it, but I'm still extremely happy about the snow.
Absolutely GIGACHAD wipe. Having so much fun so far.
cant wait to enjoy it on SPT in couple months.
If you havent tried it yet, mod up a STM-9 with a foregrip, an elcan/hybrid scope, and a big stick mag. You got a literal sewing machine. The bullet spread on the furthest target doesnt even leave the head
Honestly this might just get me back into the game again.
'fired a few rounds at the guy' proceeds to dump thee entire magazine
Yeah this wipe is fire and your right about ammo being found on the ground more often i found a few boxes of pp and bp from looking in the ammo spots!
Yeah it wasn't just a Stat decrease, they changed the pivot point
Another good thing about the snow is that bsg made bushes less dence, so now you cant hide in them as effectively
I thought I escaped from Tarkov but after 2 years they finally dragged me back in.
I surprised he didn't talk about his most hated map in Tarkov... Shoreline
Walking on a street at night in a blizzard manifests vibes so strong øneheart & reidenshi's snowfall basically summons itself into your ears.
