Quick and dirty guide to pencils: the harder the lead (hb, and lower number b) the lighter the graphite appears, the easier it is to erase, and the less easy it is to blend/smudge. Softer leads are the opposite of all of the above. Also, something handy to know is if you need to go dark with a pencil, you should never just press as hard as you can with a pencil-go to a softer lead instead. If you press to hard to try and go darker than the pencil really can, it’ll damage the paper and also make the graphite appear shiny ^^ have fun with the new supplies :D

One last bonus tip related to working with graphite pencils and not tortillions specifically, to avoid smudging your page or the side of your hand becoming covered in graphite try using a blank piece of scrap paper and resting your hand on that so it creates a barrier between your hand and the paper your drawing on. everytime you draw, i think of a story for a character (i like them even more after that). this one is my favorite though bc she is pretty and story is simple. she reminds me of persephonie and i know that rose is flower of aphrodite but maybe persephonie created it and this is a process (that's why she's not holding it)... maybe next time you could try to draw someone from India or something... i would love your interpretation :) i like your art very much, luv you
This video helped me realize how enjoyable it is to see everything swatched before it's used in a drawing or painting. I look forward to that more than what is in the box. Like, what will that art supply look like swatches, no matter if you nought it or it was sent to you. 🤗❤️👍🏽💯
i really hope you realize how therapeutic watching your videos are when you are having a rough night and can't sleep. I literally love your videos so much.🥺❣️
I really like how your drawing turned out! I'm trying to get more comfortable with drawing people right now. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm just struggling with drawing in general. 😆
I’ve been subscribed for two years now, and I do not remember when this came out but this is my art style and what I livvvvvee for! How did I never see this??
Hello, I'm not trying to hate because I love your personality and art...I just can't hear you, even with my volume all the way up on my phone or laptop. I just want to hear more of your funny jokes and bubbly personality:)

your art is so, so lovely and inclusive -- you never stick to drawing one specific type of girl, they're all varying types of shapes and colors. you encourage me to draw more all the time!!!
It feels like this box would be great to give to somebody who wants to start drawing or shows an interest in art. It has pencils, erasers, paper, blenders, and a sharpener.
So I wanted to get an art subscription box but I don't know if to get Scrawlrbox or Paletteful. They both seem like really good options thanks to your videos (which by the way are AMAZING AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE RUclipsR). So yeah, which one should I get?
I've been debating the same thing too! From what I've seen Scrawlrbox is cheaper(even with shipping) and Palletfull has no shipping fee to the US. What I've also noticed is that although, they both give you paper/canvas to use, Palletfull Pack gives you pads/notebooks of paper most of the time when Scrawlrbox just gives you samples! Also Palletfull Pack has 3 box options. I think it just mostly comes down to preference and how much you wanna splurge on it!
@@botricescoloa7519 oooo, that sucks :/ you mind me asking like why it was disappointing? (I've been leaning more towards the scrawlrbox anyways tho 😶)

I would really like to know how you don’t smear the pencil led, that is one of the problems I have when drawing. I always get the led all over the side of my hand and smear it all over my drawing. How do you draw without smearing the entire picture.
Craft and Create late reply, but you draw “away” from your hand. So like if you’re right handed, you draw from left to right. If you’re left handed, right to left. Also, always work top to bottom. To summarize, draw in a way so you’re not putting your hand over/on top of the artwork
This is my fav art channel because of the art and the commentary! Keep up the good work. Can you please make a video for tips with faces and hands and everything
Blending stomps are my best friend for noses! One thin, wide triangle point facing down in softer graphite, blending stomp to blend an oval sitting on the flat edge of the triangle, two parentheses for the sides of the nose, two reverse [)(] parentheses for the nostrils, and boom, a nose has been created. Super easy! I suck at noses, so that helped me soooo much.

Yeah, shiny texture can look good on some drawings, but it's important to know! :D

3 quick tips for using tortillions:
1. Tortillions are basically useless with colored pencils (your better off with a blender specifically designed for colored pencils)
2. For your tortillion to be of the most use I recommend reading up on the differences in graphite pencils such as hardness (H) and boldness (B) harder lead leaves a lighter line that smudges less like a 4H and softer bold lead leaves a darker line that has more movability like a 4B, you can build up various pencils for smooth realistic shading and use the tortillion to blend it, it’s a process and can be frustrating.
3. Finally, tortillions get gross pretty quickly as they pick up a ton of graphite (this can be useful in some instances just experiment with it clean and coated), if you want to experiment with them a lot you can get them in various sizes and buy a sandpaper block at your local art store (it’s literally just multiple small sheets of sandpaper stapled together) the sandpaper blocks are used to “shave” or “sharpen” away the tortillion to give you a clean surface to work with.
One last bonus tip related to working with graphite pencils and not tortillions specifically, to avoid smudging your page or the side of your hand becoming covered in graphite try using a blank piece of scrap paper and resting your hand on that so it creates a barrier between your hand and the paper your drawing on. You can move it around as necessary.

everytime you draw, i think of a story for a character (i like them even more after that). this one is my favorite though bc she is pretty and story is simple. she reminds me of persephonie and i know that rose is flower of aphrodite but maybe persephonie created it and this is a process (that's why she's not holding it)...
maybe next time you could try to draw someone from India or something... i would love your interpretation :) i like your art very much, luv you
Your so good at drawing!!!
I want to get back into drawing because of you 💖
Edit: OMG SHE REPLIED 🥺🥰😭
Thanks Georgia! That means a lot!
Aw
Same here lol even though I draw very horribly lol
Sameee
I know. She is so inspiring!
same girl same
Everytime she sees a kneaded eraser: *HUH, MY BABY*
Hey Waffles! It’s Me just want too say please keep up the good work (and that rose looks amazing 👍🏾)
Watching her discover the different grades of pencils and the blending stuff was really cute to watch as someone who works primarily with those tools
I’ve been subscribed for two years now, and I do not remember when this came out but this is my art style and what I livvvvvee for! How did I never see this??
Hello, I'm not trying to hate because I love your personality and art...I just can't hear you, even with my volume all the way up on my phone or laptop. To me I would watch your videos so much more if I could hear them.....and I'm sure in real life you have a soft voice. And the music it a good volume. I just want to hear more of your funny jokes and bubbly personality:)
I second that request to clean up the audio. My preference would be to lose the music totally.
No idea what you were saying half the time.
Headphones meh dood
Agreed
valid username Me too! I could barely hear her with my volume all the way up-I even went on another video of hers to check and I could hear it just fine. I had to put on headphones AND turn down my fan.
Which, normally I have my ac running and can hear her just fine.
Strange thing but Headphones or Earbuds actually work much better!! Its a BIT hard to hear her without them but when theyre on its just fine
I really wish I knew how to draw beautiful hands like you.
And also if u don't want dem sketchbooks u can always call me 🤙 I got you fam 💁🏾
I lost my kneaded eraser ;-;
My child has left me.
RIP
Same but i just bought a Faber Castell one at my local art store, they were on sale :D
Same *cries*
Same. I had to replace mah boi ;-;
CinnamonLlama ikr
your art is so, so lovely and inclusive -- you never stick to drawing one specific type of girl, they're all varying types of shapes and colors. you encourage me to draw more all the time!!!
Blending stumps are my favorite item for pencil drawings. They help so much with shading. I love them.
I loved watching you draw this! Now I feel like drawing something as well, but I have no time today. 🙁
2:31 I LOVE unboxing ASMR..😊
I use pencil sets to do realism. Its one of my favorite mediums... I also like to use charcoal for realism its just so fun and easy to learn
ugh thank you, I find your voice so soothing. its almost therapeutic, I love you
that hair looks awesome omg. the different types of pencils created such a cool look
I love your nails!
Thank you! ❤️
Dam it’s a good box set..
Sketch practice for dayz!! (x
Lucky 🍀
Ur the best RUclipsr in the world 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It feels like this box would be great to give to somebody who wants to start drawing or shows an interest in art. It has pencils, erasers, paper, blenders, and a sharpener.
Ugh I just love her personality and art work so much how is she a real person 😂 she sounds so nice and she’s so talented too
"I just love curly hair"

Watching you draw is so satisfying to me. I just can't get enough!
This is my favourite thing that you have ever drawn and I have been watching you for a little over a year
She sounds a lot like LaurenzSide xD they even share the favourite colour purple, they could be sisters honestly haha
True soooooo tru3
Lin Alv omg i thought the exact same thing when i first started watching!
Omg I thought I was the only one they even have a dog
Like for a long time I thought they were the same person until I saw their dogs
More than 3 Pounds!? Wow!! I was sooo excited to see what was in there!!! 😁
Your art is lovely and would look beautiful on a set of Tarot or Oracle cards ^^
I think I made this a Saturday tradition! I literally wake up and watch your videos before starting my day 💜 it's very relaxing :)))
I primarily use pencils to shade and make my art so watching you use them made me really happy.
... I can't draw curly hair TwT which sucks because one of my characters have curly hair-
Betcha if you keep trying you'll figure it out. and use references! references are AMAZING!
@@drawingwiffwaffles but I've tried-! I end of making cotton candy- which looks delicious, but kind of not what I wanted ;w;
now I want some cotton candy. hahaha
@@drawingwiffwaffles I actually have some cotton candy 👌 xD
I can't draw curly hair and I HAVE curly hair.
Oh no!, you forgot the stem of the rose in the final drawing...
@@mothmanleon8986 i ordered a palettetul (petite) and i was kind of disappointed so i was thinking of now trying scrawlrbox
@@botricescoloa7519 oooo, that sucks :/ you mind me asking like why it was disappointing? (I've been leaning more towards the scrawlrbox anyways tho 😶)
I love seeing how much you’ve improved! That piece you did with all the supplies is incredible ❤️💕
The concept of not using a blending tool hurts my soul😭😭😭😭😭😭 I don’t know how you can live without it
as soon as I saw the art stumps I started chanting (in my head😂) “aRT STUMP ART STUMP ART STUMP” idk why probs since I finally know what something is on here
U are my fav artist
Nailil’s World same! I love her art sooo much ❤️
Essa Art I know she draws amazing
Is it just me or does that background music sound like Wii Sports music
Hi. I just now subscribed. Its almost 1am and that's normal for me. I take care of my parents, 79 & 82. Mom has Alzheimer's, so sleep is interrupted. Often. Not complaining, I'm so glad I can do this. Just rambling. I love your videos so much. So fun and at the same time, soothing. You are so talented. Just wanted to say hi and tell you how much I enjoy your videos!
Art stumps are absolutely fantastic help for fine detailed charcoal work to help smooth out line work and get rid of patchy looking spots in charcoal
i know i’m late but it would’ve been so cool to incorporate the robot arms because it’s like a space girl of some kind seeing wildlife for the first time lol
what am i talking about
Wait... Waffles are you a Trekkie too?!
You forgot an art stump in the box
I want these box’s so bad I’m gonna probably save up. Just wondering which type of box you got.
there are so many to choose from now. I'm giving away the box I opened last week still, you've got 2 hours left to enter if youre interested in that. drawingwiffwaffles.com/giveaway/
Please do a How to draw eyes 👀
I could watch you draw all day. I absolutely love your style
Every time I watch your videos it inspires me to draw more. And I love to study your artwork to help me figure out how to draw something. And I love your art stile
