I've made hill sprints a part of my marathon training ever since 2015, and it's worked wonders. I run a 3K warmup jog to the very steepest hill in all of Berlin, and just like you I do between 6-8 repeats of 10 seconds (however just 50 second recovery). The last 2 hurt like hell but it's so helpful.

I have never done hill sprints before, but I think I'll try them next time!
