    ね seems very similar to how Canadians use "eh?"

      Eh is only used when addressed to someone specifically. I don’t think eh is said to a group or to one’s self.

    Fun fact: german for some reason has pretty much the same, even literally even also being "ne" lol (tho it's mostly only ever unformal in german)

      Same for brazilian portuguese, here we use "né" at the end of sentences which is short for "não é?" (is it not?)
