- Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth (Frou Frou) have reunited 16 years after disbanding, touring together as part of Heap's Mycelia World Tour. This song is "Let Go", performed live in concert at The Masonic in San Francisco, California. It originally appeared on Frou Frou's only album (Details) in 2002, and was made famous through its appearance on the Garden State soundtrack in 2004. The song played during the end credits of the movie. Joining them onstage are Zoe Keating (cello), Emma Houston (keytar), Tim Keiper (drums), and Steve Jones (guitar).
Heap performs with Mi.Mu musical gloves, which allow her to manipulate her voice and musical samples with movements of her hands. She said this about them: "They basically enable me to reach inside that computer, and have access to all the software that I love. All of the augmentation of my voice. Or maybe I want to bring in some samples. Or add in a delay. Or reverse my voice, or whatever I want to do. So all of the vocal effects you're hearing tonight are done live."

The first time I heard this song was probably around 2004/5 on Rogers On Demand. It was the backtrack for a YA scifi/fantasty preview montage. It will have a sense of magic about it.

You have good taste. Peter Gabriel is maybe my favorite artist. if not him its split between Him, Kate Bush, and Cocteou Twins, Frou Frou/Imogen is right up there though!
Not sure how this was shot? 300mm lens from the balcony?
I use a pocket-sized point and shoot camera with a 30X (24-720 mm) Zeiss optical zoom lens. For this show, I was in the back row of the balcony. The challenge in shooting from that far away is that even the slightest movement of your hands can blur the video. If you're not careful, panning to follow the performer can do the same. A tripod would obviously help, but the ushers would not take kindly to that. :)

@@richardkarkada4790 she’s pitchy in every live version of this song even when it was relatively new. Pitchy is pitchy-it doesn’t mean she’s a bad singer just that she was off in this performance.

I think it helps her be more confident. Knowing people are looking at the hat rather than at you. I've seen other performances where she's stopped half way through and she just needs a distraction to finish it properly

Hi Daniel, I've actually found that the two microphones on this camera record very high-fidelity audio. To a fault, really...if someone sniffles 5 seats away, the camera faithfully captures it. Here are the specs if you're curious:

I *was* unhappy with my camera work at this concert though. I had to freehand it from the back row, making it hard to steady the frame, especially when zoomed in. At other shows at this venue, I sat in the front row and used the balcony wall as a makeshift tripod to stabilize the camera.
Anyway, I think the original commenter just didn't like Imogen Heap's performance. I totally disagree. I thought this show was great.
