    Just downloaded the demo... it's incredible. The last time I played my Jupiter 8 was in 1985 just before I sold it. I'm telling you straight, I've had many synths since but within 2 minutes of playing the TH8 I felt right back home, and after 10 mins, I kid you not I had recorded a pattern for a new song! Forget the Jupiter-X, THis is what the Jupiter should have become Roland! Incredible, and if you're listening Acustica.... find a partner and go and make a desktop version, you will sell MILLIONS! Thank you Acustica... I've got my girlfriend back! 😎

      yes, it sounds incredibly good. A little heavy on the CPU, but they already managed to reduce it a bit since the initial release. If too heavy, turn off effects

    • @AutodafeSynths

      Actually, not really huge. The plugin itself is around 28MB, while the "samples" folder is about 600MB, at least on Mac...(and this folder is shared between TH-8 and its smaller brother TH-5)

    Sounds like Tal-J-8 with a saturation/curve applied across the output that you can't get rid of.

      I've had it for about 24 hours. I'll say humbly I have most of the top synth VSTs. This one, has really captured my attention and I think it sounds great. With that said, I'm gonna call this one VERY CPU intensive. Comparable to DIVA, maybe a little more intense. One can get around that though playing with the voices, turning off the onboard effects to find a sweet spot. I have a pretty high end system and noticed some cracks and spikes if I ran Unison, and the onboard effects for example. I had to resort to bouncing to even think about multi-tracks. It's a new plug-in so I imagine they'll have some updates/minor bug fixes, hopefully. The special they are running made it worth to me. No regrets. In it's fashion and sound, in my opinion it stands unique.

    • @AutodafeSynths
      @AutodafeSynths  Месяц назад +1

      @@toddjbradshaw yes, it's a bit CPU hungry. Are you on Mac? I have a Mac M2 and I also experience pops and cracks due to high processor usage. The latest releases have reduced CPU consumption a bit. Hopefully they are going to optimize it.
      Effects are probably the more CPU demanding, and disabling them could probably reduce CPU usage...

    • @toddjbradshaw
      @toddjbradshaw Месяц назад

      @@AutodafeSynths Yes sir. I get the same thing on my M2 and I have a PC running Ryzen7. It's pretty much the same between both of them in terms of performance. It's not a deal breaker for me - just have to be careful. High CPU hits make me a little nervous. Especially prolonged events. A little backstory, I absolutely killed my intel iMac back in the day throwing DIVA at it when I was a noob and had no idea intensive audio processing could be. I was always under the impression a system would throttle or shutdown once a certain threshold was broken. Not in my case and it was a heartbreaker. It fried it deader than a doornail on that ONE time too many. Thanks for the video and enjoy making some sounds. Glad I found your channel.🦊

      @@AutodafeSynths Well, i could, but DP is mostly not important enough for Plugin producers, and Motu is not very interested in making Plugins run in DP.

      @@AutodafeSynths All Plugin producers are not very interested in Motu´s DP. Maybe in a few Weeks it will work. Under Reaper 7 it works. My first impression is....the synth sounds really great, but the in built EQ destroys the sound completely. As soon you use it, the plugin sounds bad. Leave it out, and leave out the reverb either, and the plugin is too expensive.

    • @AutodafeSynths

    Don't think mush of the demo. It doesn't display the strength of a Jupiter 8 at all. The Jupiter 8's strength was brass, PWM sweeps, detuned unison patches and bright strings. Any plugin can make those arpeggiated effects. Try making another video.
